The Lattice NJL Model at Non-zero Baryon and Isospin Densities
We present initial results of a numerical investigation of the chiral
symmetry restoring transition in the (3+1)-dimensional Nambu -- Jona-Lasinio
model with both non-zero baryon chemical potential (mu_B) and isospin chemical
potential (mu_I). With non-zero isospin chemical potential, the model suffers
from a sign problem. We proceed in two ways: (i) We perform ``partially
quenched'' simulations in which mu_I is made non-zero only during the
measurement of chiral observables; (ii) We perform full simulations with
imaginary isospin chemical potential with the aim to analytically continue
results to real mu_I.Comment: 3 pages, 3 figures, poster presented at LATTICE 2004, Fermi National

Two flavor color superconductivity in nonlocal chiral quark models
We study the competence between chiral symmetry restoration and two flavor
color superconductivity (2SC) using a relativistic quark model with covariant
nonlocal interactions. We consider two different nonlocal regulators: a
Gaussian regulator and a Lorentzian regulator. We find that although the phase
diagrams are qualitative similar to those obtained using models with local
interactions, in our case the superconducting gaps at medium values of the
chemical potential are larger. Consequently, we obtain that in that region the
critical temperatures for the disappearance of the 2SC phase might be of the
order of 100-120 MeV. We also find that for ratios of the quark-quark and
quark-antiquark couplings somewhat above the standard value 3/4, the end point
and triple point in the phase diagram meet and a phase where both the
chiral and diquark condensates are non-negligible appears.Comment: 15 pages incl. 5 Postscript figure
Családnevek történeti tanulságai Partium késő középkori és újkori névanyaga alapján
A kései ómagyar korban természetes módon keletkezett magyar családnevek számos társadalmi, gazdasági és művelődéstörténeti emléket őriztek meg az utókor számára kialakulásuk időszakából. Tanulmányomban a Mohács előtti személynévanyag alapján kísérlek meg tágabb összefüggéseket feltárni a török hódoltság korában létrejött, Erdély peremén található Partium Váradtól északra eső területének, főként Bihar, Szatmár és Ugocsa vármegyék múltjából kitekintéssel az első országos összeírás (1715) tanulságaira
is.

The geography of historical personal names as a research area of Geolinguistics I. Name geographic methods in name studies
Spatial distribution of proper names – similarly to that of common nouns – is a natural consequence of language change; as a result, the geography of personal (especially family) names has recently become an important field of study in international and Hungarian Onomastics. The paper first outlines the history of previous Hungarian name geographical research, focusing on terminological questions. The author then discusses the relationship between Geolinguistics and name geographical research, using examples from ‘Történeti magyar családnévatlasz’ (Atlas of Hungarian Historical Family Names). Relations between the frequency of Christian names and that of family names are illustrated in the paper by the 15th–18th-century geography of the family name Benkő: the outstanding historical or contemporary frequency of family names derived from the same Christian name in an area is determined by the previous frequency of the base Christian name in the territory. Christian names can also be used to demonstrate the ethnic composition of the Carpathian Basin: the 18th century expansion of the southern Slavic and German ethnic groups is illustrated by the appearance of the names Jován and Fridericus (and their variants), respectively
Megjegyzések népnévi eredetű tulajdonneveinkről
Népnévi eredetű tulajdonneveink több szempontból is kiemelt helyet foglalnak el a névkutatásban, mivel ezek – egyéb történeti utalások mellett – nagy segítségét nyújtanak
a Kárpát-medence korai nemzetiségi viszonyainak és nyelvi kontaktusainak a feltárásában. Kiemelten igaz ez a helynevek csoportjára, melyen belül – amennyiben pontos lokalizációjuk lehetséges, illetve a névadás alapja meggyőzően feltárható – leginkább a népnévi eredetű településnevek árulkodhatnak a névben tükröztetett nép tényleges jelenlétéről egy adott területen. Emellett azonban a történeti személynevek hasonló jellegű vizsgálata is fontos tanulsággal járhat. A tanulmány kiemelten foglalkozik a polyák, polyán, kun, komán, román és oláh etnonímák tulajdonnévi előfordulásaival, s az ezekből levonható etimológiai következtetésekkel
A természetes személynévadásról
A történeti személynévkutatáshoz kapcsolódóan az egyes névfajták egymáshoz való viszonyát jellemzi kitekintve a kapcsolódó tudománytörténeti eredményekre. A személynévadás két nagy csoportjának, a természetes és mesterséges névadásnak az elkülönítése kapcsán előbbi részletes elemzésére kerül sor. Kiemelten foglalkozik a névadó közösségnek a természetes névadási aktusban játszott szerepével
