Providing Posttraumatic Care in Emergency Situations

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá poskytováním posttraumatické péče obětem mimořádných událostí, příslušníkům složek integrovaného záchranného systému a zaměstnancům těchto složek při setkání s mimořádnou a traumatizující událostí. V teoretické části je definován stres, co to je a jak na člověka působí. Dále je zde popsán systém psychické pomoci, kterou se dané složky zabývají a kterou mohou poskytnout. V neposlední řadě je v práci vyjmenováno, jak jednotlivé složky pomoc poskytují, jaké jsou jejich předpisy, podle kterých mohou pomoc poskytnout. Práce je cíleně zaměřena na Středočeský kraj, jelikož je největší v celé České republice a protože je v práci zmapována vzájemná spolupráce nebo spíš doplňování se jednotlivých složek při poskytování posttraumatické péče obětem mimořádných událostí. V praktické části je provedeno kvantitativní průzkumné šetření pomocí nestandardizovaného dotazníku, zaměřeného na zjištění dat týkajících se praktického poskytování posttraumatické péče v jednotlivých složkách integrovaného záchranného systému. Dotazník byl rozeslán všem členům týmů napříč základními složkami integrovaného záchranného systému ve Středočeském kraji a také střednímu a vyššímu managementu těchto složek. Je zde srovnáno, jak jednotlivé složky pomoc poskytují a také jaké jsou možnosti jejich pomoci obětem mimořádných událostí. Zhodnocena je také celková spokojenost s týmy posttraumatické péče a to jak z pohledu samotných členů, tak z pohledu vedoucích pracovníků.This dissertation deals with the provision of post-traumatic care to victims of extraordinary events, members of the integrated rescue system units, and employees of these units in case of experiencing an extraordinary and traumatizing event. The theoretical part defines stress, what it is, and how it affects a human being. Further on, a system of mental help is described, which the given units deal with and which they may provide. Last but not least, the paper lists how the individual units provide help, what their regulations are, governing the provision of help. The paper focuses on Central Bohemian Region, as it is the largest region in the entire Czech Republic, and because the dissertation maps mutual cooperation, or complementation rather, of the individual units in providing post-traumatic care to victims of extraordinary events. The practical part contains a quantitative enquiry by means of a non-standardized questionnaire focusing on finding out data regarding practical provision of post-traumatic care within the individual units of the integrated rescue system. The questionnaire was distributed to all team members across the basic units of the integrated rescue system in the Central Bohemian Region, as well as to junior and senior management of these units. It compares how the individual units provide help, and also what their options are in providing help to victims of extraordinary events. It also evaluates the overall level of satisfaction with the post-traumatic care teams, both from the point of view of the members themselves, and from the point of view of managers

Replacing Natural Gas by Biogas — Determining the Bacterial Contamination of Biogas by PCR

A promising way of using biogas is to upgrade it to natural gas, which is referred to as Substitute Natural Gas (SNG) or biomethane. Biomethane, or biogas, is produced by biological processes of harnessing the ability of microorganisms to degrade organic material to methane. Some of the microorganisms are aerosolized from the digester into the biogas; afterwards a bio-film is formed that attaches to the surfaces of the distribution pipes, and can find it was to the place where the end use of biogas takes place. This paper deals with the detection of microbial species in biogas, their influenceon corrosion and the potential risk that diseases can be spread via biogas using molecular techniques. Using molecular methods, we found that raw biogas contains about 8 million microorganisms per m3, which is most likely the result of microbial transmission from the anaerobic digestion process. Some bacterial species may contribute to the corrosion of pipelines and equipment; others are opportunistic pathogens that can cause toxic reactions. However, most bacterial species, more than 40 % in biogas, are still unknown, as is their influence on the digestion process and on human health. Further studies are needed to better understand the behavior of microorganisms in anaerobic digestion and to preventmicrobial-influenced corrosion and microbial dissemination

The Effects of a Work in Emergency Phone Centre on Call Taker's Sleep Quality

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá vlivem stresu při výkonu zaměstnání na spánek operátorů tísňových linek 150 a 112. V teoretické části je podrobně rozebrán stres, jeho druhy, projevy a následky. Dále je zde popsán spánek, jeho fáze, poruchy spánku a okolnosti, které mohou mít na správný spánek vliv. V neposlední řadě je v teoretické části popsána práce operátora tísňové linky, jsou zde zmíněna specifika směnného provozu a specifika práce na operačním a informačním středisku. Dále je zde popsán pro lepší pochopení náročnosti práce operátora Středočeský kraj, protože se jedná o největší kraj v České republice a také protože je práce zaměřena na konkrétní pracoviště operačního a informačního střediska Hasičského záchranného sboru Středočeského kraje. V praktické části je proveden průzkum pomocí speciálního měřícího náramku Garmin a doplňkově také pomocí dotazníků. Cílem praktické části je porovnat subjektivní a objektivní hodnocení spánku jednotlivých operátorů podle různých kritérií a také zjištění, jaké jsou pro ně největší stresové zátěže, které mají vliv na spánek.This bachelor thesis deals with the impact of stress in performing a job on the sleep of the operators of emergency phone lines 150 and 112. The theoretical part elaborates in detail on stress, its types, symptoms and consequences. Further on, it describes sleep, its stages, sleep disorders and circumstances possibly affecting healthy sleep. Last but not least, the theoretical part describes the work of the emergency line operator, mentioning the specifics of multi-shift operation and the specifics of working at the operational and information centre. Further on, the paper deals with the Central Bohemian Region, describing it to give a better overview of the demandingness of the operator's work, as it is the largest region in the Czech Republic, and also because the paper focuses on the particular working site of the operational and information centre of the Fire Rescue Service of the Central Bohemian Region. The practical part then presents research realized by means of a special measuring bracelet by Garmin, complemented also by means of questionnaires. The aim of the practical part is to compare the subjective and objective assessment of sleep by the individual operators according to different criteria, and also to find out what they perceive as the greatest stress with impact on their sleep

Databáze byla navržena s možností následné analýzy dat za pomoci regresní analýzy a časových řad.The bachelor thesis is focused on creating an application for the purpose of automation the receiving and sending of postal cheque in the company. The database was designed with the possibility of consequent data analysis using regression analysis and time series.

Analysis and Evaluation of Internal Communication in Construction Company

Cílem autora bakalářské práce je přednést aktuální přehled současné literatury v oblasti interní komunikace. Analyzovat stav interní komunikace ve středně velkém stavebním podniku. Pro výzkum autor využívá jedné z kvalitativních metod výzkumu veřejného mínění- dotazníkového šetření. Další výzkum byl prováděn prostřednictvím krátkého polostrukturovaného interview o charakteristice stavu interní komunikace v podniku. Získaná data jsou kvalitativní i kvantitativní. Studie dokazuje, že interní komunikace je nedílnou součástí stavebního podniku. Vybraný podnik si v této oblasti drží vysoký standard. Autor v závěru práce doporučuje vedení firmy vytvoření komunikační strategie na další období.The aim of the bachelor thesis is to present the current overview of contemporary literature in the field of internal communication. Analyze the state of internal communication in a medium-sized construction company. For research, the author uses one of the qualitative methods of public opinion research - a questionnaire survey. Further research was conducted through a brief semi-structured interview on the state of internal communication in the company. The obtained data are both qualitative and quantitative. The study shows that internal communication is an integral part of a construction company. The selected business holds a high standard in this area. At the end of the thesis, the author recommends the management of the company to create a communication strategy for the next period

Anaerobic fungi (class Neocallimastigomycetes) in the gastrointestinal tract of gorillas: an adaptation to a high-fibrous diet

Many studies have demonstrated the importance of symbiotic microbial communities for the host with beneficial effects for nutrition, development, and the immune system. The majority of these studies have focused on bacteria residing in the gastrointestinal tract, while the fungal community has often been neglected. Gut anaerobic fungi of the class Neocallimastigomycetes are a vital part of the intestinal microbiome in many herbivorous animals and their exceptional abilities to degrade indigestible plant material means that they contribute significantly to fermentative processes in the enteric tract. Gorillas rely on a highly fibrous diet and depend on fermentative microorganisms to meet their daily energetic demands. To assess whether Neocallimastigomycetes occur in gorillas we analyzed 12 fecal samples from wild Western lowland gorillas (Gorilla gorilla gorilla) from Dzanga–Sangha Protected Areas, Central African Republic, and subjected potential anaerobic fungi sequences to phylogenetic analysis. The clone library contained ITS1 fragments that we related to 45 different fungi clones. Of these, 12 gastrointestinal fungi in gorillas are related to anaerobic fungi and our phylogenetic analyses support their assignment to the class Neocallimastigomycetes. As anaerobic fungi play a pivotal role in plant fiber degradation in the herbivore gut, gorillas might benefit from harboring these particular fungi with regard to their nutritional status. Future studies should investigate whether Neocallimastigomycetes are also found in other nonhuman primates with high fiber intake, which would also benefit from having such highly efficient fermentative microbes

Impact of CSR on business competitiveness

Téma společenské odpovědnosti firem je v současné době velmi diskutované. Podniky hledají cesty k znovuobnovení důvěry svých zákazníků a získání legitimity pro své aktivity. Cílem práce je ověřit, zda má tento koncept pozitivní vliv na růst konkurenceschopnosti podniku a za jakých podmínek. Nejprve je vymezen teoretický rámec, jsou analyzovány motivy managementu k přijetí CSR a případné překážky hlubší integrace. Dále se práce zabývá konkrétními oblastmi konkurenceschopnosti, které může CSR ovlivnit. Teoretické poznatky jsou následně prověřovány v podmínkách automobilového průmyslu. Na konkrétním příkladu společnosti TPCA jsou analyzovány aktivity CSR, které posilují postavení podniku a zakládají jeho konkurenční výhodu.The topic of Corporate Social Responsibility gets the attention as companies look for ways how to re establish trust of consumers and gain legitimacy for their business activities. The goal of this thesis is to survey whether and under which conditions the CSR concept has a positive impact on competitiveness of the corporations. The thesis is built on the theoretical framework of competitiveness and CSR. The management motives for CSR implementation and integration obstacles are discussed and the concrete areas of competitiveness which might be influenced by CSR are analyzed. Theoretical knowledge is examined in automotive industry context. The empirical research analyzes those CSR activities of TPCA which strengthen its position and create competitive advantage
