Analysis the use of the grip with velcro fasteners relating to the effectiveness of volleying in padel tennis

El objetivo de este estudio es investigar si la utilización de un grip con fijaciones, aumenta la efectividad de golpeo de la volea en pádel. Un total de 5 sujetos (5 varones) con una edad media de 22,8±0,84 años, fueron reclutados para participar de una forma voluntaria en este estudio de diseño cuasi- experimental. La elección de la muestra fue intencional, enmarcados dentro de los criterios de inclusión. Todos los sujetos realizaron unas sesiones de familiarización así como el «Test de efectividad de volea en pádel» con y sin el grip con fijaciones. Los resultados obtenidos nos muestran que los sujetos presentan mejores resultados de efectividad de volea cuando usan el grip con fijaciones (p<0,01). Por ello, concluimos que el uso del grip con fijaciones en la mano es más efectivo en la volea en el pádel que el grip cotidiano

The intention of this study is to investigate if the use of the grip with Velcro fasteners, increases the effectiveness of volleying in padel tennis.            A total of five people (5 males) with an average age of 22,8 ± 0,84 years, were recruited to take part voluntarily in this quasi-experimental study. The election of the sample was intentional, according to the inclusion criterions. All the sample took part of adaptational lessons as well as the “Effectiveness test of volleying in padel tennis” with and without the grip.            The results obtained show us that the sample had better results of effectiveness when using the grip with Velcro fasteners (p&lt;0,01). A survey on cost-effective context-aware distribution of social data streams over energy-efficient data centres

Social media have emerged in the last decade as a viable and ubiquitous means of communication. The ease of user content generation within these platforms, e.g. check-in information, multimedia data, etc., along with the proliferation of Global Positioning System (GPS)-enabled, always-connected capture devices lead to data streams of unprecedented amount and a radical change in information sharing. Social data streams raise a variety of practical challenges, including derivation of real-time meaningful insights from effectively gathered social information, as well as a paradigm shift for content distribution with the leverage of contextual data associated with user preferences, geographical characteristics and devices in general. In this article we present a comprehensive survey that outlines the state-of-the-art situation and organizes challenges concerning social media streams and the infrastructure of the data centres supporting the efficient access to data streams in terms of content distribution, data diffusion, data replication, energy efficiency and network infrastructure. We systematize the existing literature and proceed to identify and analyse the main research points and industrial efforts in the area as far as modelling, simulation and performance evaluation are concerned

Understanding how organizational culture typology relates to organizational unlearning and innovation capabilities

This study focuses on the link between organizational unlearning and innovation capabilities and explores how this relationship might be managed within an innovative firm. In order to gain a clearer insight into to the influence of a firm’s culture on organizational unlearning and its innovation capabilities, a research model was developed that employs the Competing Values Framework (Cameron & Quinn, 1999). In this model, the influence of a firm’s cultural typology on unlearning and innovation is conceptualized and hypotheses are developed. The model was tested empirically using a sample of 145 firms drawn from the Spanish automotive components manufacturing sector and the relationships between the constructs were assessed using the partial least squares path-modeling approach. The results reveal that each distinct organizational culture exerts a different impact on the innovation and unlearning outcome variables. Morphological effects on the photocatalytic properties of SnO<inf>2</inf> nanostructures

The photocatalytic properties of SnO2 nanocrystals are tuned by varying their morphology and microstructure. SnO2 nanoparticles and nanowedges have been synthesised using hydrothermal methods, while microwave irradiation techniques have given nanospheres. Detailed structural and chemical characterization of these different morphologies has been accomplished. The influence of SnO2 morphology on photocatalytic activity has been examined by monitoring the degradation of aqueous methylene blue dye. Results demonstrate that changing the morphology of the SnO2 modulates both surface area and levels of surface defects and that these alterations are reflected in the photocatalytic properties of the materials. The degradation of methylene blue dye (98%) in the presence of SnO2 nanoparticles under simulated solar irradiation is superior to previously reported photocatalyst performance and is comparable to that of standard TiO2 (Degussa P-25). The SnO2 nanoparticles perform better than both the nanowedges and nanospheres and this is attributed to the number of surface defects available to the high surface area material. A new approach technology to enable the expansion and replication of resources on demand is presented in this paper. This approach is called CICA GRID and it provides service to research community in the Scientific Computer Centre of Andalusia (CICA). This approach is an alternative solution to the initial cost involved in building an own data center by public organizations for researches. This solution quickly provides resources with a minimal technical staff effort. Also, an architecture and user interface example called ReCarta was presented.
