mejora significativa

A family of complex potentials with real spectrum
We consider a two-parameter non hermitean quantum-mechanical hamiltonian that
is invariant under the combined effects of parity and time reversal
transformation. Numerical investigation shows that for some values of the
potential parameters the hamiltonian operator supports real eigenvalues and
localized eigenfunctions. In contrast with other PT symmetric models, which
require special integration paths in the complex plane, our model is integrable
along a line parallel to the real axis.Comment: Six figures and four table
Clustering Groundwater Level Time Series of the Exploited Almonte-Marismas Aquifer in Southwest Spain
Groundwater resources are regularly the principal water supply in semiarid and arid climate areas. However, groundwater levels (GWL) in semiarid aquifers are suffering a general decrease because of anthropic exploitation of aquifers and the repercussions of climate change. Effective groundwater management strategies require a deep characterization of GWL fluctuations, in order to identify individual behaviors and triggering factors. In September 2019, the Guadalquivir River Basin Authority (CHG) declared that there was over-exploitation in three of the five groundwater bodies of the Almonte-Marismas aquifer, Southwest Spain. For that reason, it is critical to understand GWL dynamics in this aquifer before the new Spanish Water Resources Management Plans (2021–2027) are developed. The application of GWL series clustering in hydrogeology has grown over the past few years, as it is an extraordinary tool that promptly provides a GWL classification; each group can be related to different responses of a complex aquifer under any external change. In this work, GWL time series from 160 piezometers were analyzed for the period 1975 to 2016 and, after data pre-processing, 24 piezometers were selected for clustering with k-means (static) and time series (dynamic) clustering techniques. Six and seven groups (k) were chosen to apply k-means. Six characterized types of hydrodynamic behaviors were obtained with time series clustering (TSC). Number of clusters were related to diverse affections of water exploitation depending on soil uses and hydrogeological spatial distribution parameters. TSC enabled us to distinguish local areas with high hydrodynamic disturbance and to highlight a quantitative drop of GWL during the studied period
Determinants of the acceptance of domestic use of recycled water by use type
In the circular economy model, the recycling of water is an alternative option that can reduce the pressure on water resources and guarantee water supply. This water policy measure is currently widespread in agriculture, but thus far few countries have opted for the domestic use of recycled water. In part, this is because it is the source of water with the lowest levels of public acceptance, which poses a threat to the success of the necessary investment. We analyse the degree of acceptance of recycled water for different domestic uses. The main contribution of this study is the analysis of the determinants of acceptance of recycled water by use type. The research was based on data from a questionnaire given to 844 university students in Andalusia, southern Spain. Results are
obtained from ordinary least squares regressions that relate the determinants of recycled
water acceptance to each of the water use classes. The 'yuck factor'—variously defined
as ‘disgust’ or ‘psychological repugnance’—and the perceived risk are found to be the
main determinants of the low degree of acceptance of recycled water for ingestion by
people and pets. For other uses, such as body washing, laundry and cleaning, environ-
mental awareness stands out as a determining factor. The main conclusion is that if au-
thorities were to opt for measures to promote the use of recycled water, they should take
into account the fact that the reluctance to use recycled water and the determinants of
acceptance differ according to the intended useEuropean Regional Development FundSpanish Agencia Estatal de InvestigaciónRegional Government of Andalusi
Clinical management of homocystinuria; case report and review of the literature
La homocistinuria es un error congénito del metabolismo
de la metionina que conduce al acúmulo de metionina
y de su principal metabolito, homocisteÃna, en
plasma, orina y tejidos. El acúmulo de homocisteÃna
posee toxicidad sobre los sistemas óseo (osteoporosis),
ocular (luxación del cristalino), nervioso (convulsiones,
alteraciones psiquiátricas) y vascular (accidentes cerebrovasculares,
enfermedad cardiovascular).
Presentamos 2 casos de homocistinuria en 2 pacientes
hermanos y, a continuación, revisamos las estrategias
terapéuticas disponiblesHomocystinuria is a congenital disorder of methyonine
metabolism that leads to increased plasmatic, urinary
and tissue deposits of methyonine and its main metabolite:
homocysteine. Homocysteine deposits are toxic for
the skeletal system (osteoporosis), the eyes (lens dislocation),
central nervous system (seizures, psychiatric disorders)
and also induce vascular damage (stroke and other
cardiovascular events).
This article reports two patients with homocystinuria
in two siblings, followed by a concise review on the therapeutic
strategies available for this disorde
Synchronization, Diversity, and Topology of Networks of Integrate and Fire Oscillators
We study synchronization dynamics of a population of pulse-coupled
oscillators. In particular, we focus our attention in the interplay between
networks topological disorder and its synchronization features. Firstly, we
analyze synchronization time in random networks, and find a scaling law
which relates to networks connectivity. Then, we carry on comparing
synchronization time for several other topological configurations,
characterized by a different degree of randomness. The analysis shows that
regular lattices perform better than any other disordered network. The fact can
be understood by considering the variability in the number of links between two
adjacent neighbors. This phenomenon is equivalent to have a non-random topology
with a distribution of interactions and it can be removed by an adequate local
normalization of the couplings.Comment: 6 pages, 8 figures, LaTeX 209, uses RevTe
Applying 3D Geostatistical Simulation to Improve the Groundwater Management Modelling of Sedimentary Aquifers: The Case of Doñana (Southwest Spain)
Mathematical groundwater modelling with homogeneous permeability zones has been used for decades to manage water resources in the Almonte-Marismas aquifer (southwest Spain). This is a highly heterogeneous detrital aquifer which supports valuable ecological systems in the Doñana National Park. The present study demonstrates that it is possible to better characterize this heterogeneity by numerical discretization of the geophysical and lithological data available. We identified six hydrofacies whose spatial characteristics were quantified with indicator variogram modelling. Sequential Indicator Simulation then made it possible to construct a 3D geological model. Finally, this detailed model was included in MODFLOW through the Model Muse interface. This final process is still a challenge due to the difficulty of downscaling to a handy numerical modelling scale. New piezometric surfaces and water budgets were obtained. The classical model with zones and the model with 3D simulation were compared to confirm that, for management purposes, the effort of improving the geological heterogeneities is worthwhile. This paper also highlights the relevance of including subsurface heterogeneities within a real groundwater management model in the present global change scenario
