THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC ERA: THE EFFECTIVENESS OF GOOGLE CLASSROOM MEDIA IN DISCRETE MATHEMATICS LEARNING IN TERMS OF STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES

One of the learning media in the network that is often used in addressing various learning problems during the Covid-19 pandemic is the use of google classroom media. The purpose of this study is to find out the effectiveness of google classroom media in discrete mathematics learning in terms of learning outcomes. The type of research conducted is quasi experiment research to see the consequences of a treatment by comparing the learning outcomes of two class groups (independent class) or two time groups with the same class (dependent class). The research design is applied using one group pretest-posttest design. The samples in this study were all the fourth semester class A students who took discrete mathematics courses at the S1 level of the Mathematics Education Study Program of the Faculty of Education, Timor University which consisted of 40 students. Sample data was processed with descriptive analysis and average difference test using paired sample t test and N-Gain Score. The research results showed that learning outcomes by using google classroom media is quite effective based the students’ test results. The students’ learning outcomes after learning by applying google classroom media were higher than students’ learning outcomes before learning by applying google classroom media

IMPLEMENTATION OF GENETIC ALGORITHM BASED ON JAVASCRIPT IN OBJECT ROUTING SHORTEST TOUR ON TIMOR ISLAND

The purpose of this study is to apply a genetic algorithm using a programming language that can be used to determine the shortest route to tourist attractions in  Timor Island, East Nusa Tenggara. The application of genetic algorithms expected to be able to obtain the shortest route information that is most effective, the route that do not take a long time for tourists, and the presentation of route information for tourists. The method used is genetic algorithm to build the shortest route system for tourist attractions in Timor Island. The results of the system application shown that the optimization of travel routes that have been built can provide convenience in choosing tourist travel routes in Timor Island. Route optimization can help the process of making routes from the first location of departure and the attractions to be visited. The system is also used to assist domestic tourists in getting to know the attractions of Timor Island for solutions the shortest route

PENGEMBANGAN MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN BERBASIS LECTORA INSPIRE DENGAN MODEL DISCOVERY LEARNING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP SISWA

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menciptakan video pembelajaran menggunakan pendekatan discovery learning guna meningkatkan pemahaman konsep Pola Bilangan dengan valid; menghasilkan video yang mudah diimplementasikan; dan menciptakan materi video yang efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep tersebut. Penelitian ini mengadopsi metode Research & Development (R & D) dengan teknik pengumpulan data yang mencakup validasi, tes, angket, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa video pembelajaran berbasis Lectora Inspire yang dikembangkan memiliki tingkat validitas yang tinggi, praktis, dan efektif. Hal ini dapat dibuktikan melalui hasil validasi dari tiga validator yang mencapai 87,75%, tanggapan positif dari 25 siswa yang mencapai 76,3%, dan peningkatan signifikan dalam hasil post-test yang diperoleh oleh siswa

Introducing and Training of the Mendeley Application as a Reference Tool in Student Scientific Articles

The introducing and training of the Mendeley application for students of the Mathematics Education Study Program, Faculty of Education, University of Timor aims to improve students' understanding and skills in using Mendeley application in writing research articles. This community service activity was carried out from June 2021 to August 2021 which takes place in the Hall of the Faculty of Education, University of Timor. The method applied in this training is lecture and practice. The activity was attended by 19 students of the Mathematics Education Study Program. This service activity is very useful students because they can understand the strategy of finding quality references using the Mendeley application. This can be seen from the way of citation and references using Mendeley in the articles of those students

PELATIHAN PENGGUNAAN MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN MATEMATIKA BERBASIS FUN MATH BAGI ANAK BERKEBUTUHAN KHUSUS

Abstrak: Kegiatan pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk mengenalkan dan meningkatkan pemahaman siswa/siswi anak berkebutuhan khusus tentang bangun datar, kubus, dan balok. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di SDLB Negeri Benpasi Kefamenanu yang berada di Kelurahan Benpasi, Kabupaten Timor Tengah Utara, Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur. Yang menjadi peserta dalam kegiatan pelatihan ini adalah 15 orang siswa/siswi SDLB Negeri Benpasi Kefamenanu. Pelaksanaan pelatihan ini terdiri dari dua tahap: tahap pra kegiatan dan kegiatan. Tahap pra kegiatan dilakukan melalui pelaksanaan survey awal untuk mengetahui gambaran pembelajaran matematika anak berkebutuhan khusus jenjang sekolah dasar serta kendala yang dialami. Tahap kegiatan dilaksanakan melalui pelatihan dan evaluasi. Evaluasi dilakukan menggunakan angket tanggapan peserta. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi diperoleh informasi bahwa kegiatan pelatihan ini mendapatkan tanggapan yang positif dari peserta. Melalui pelatihan penggunaan media pembelajaran fun math yang disajikan, cukup menambah pengetahuan dan wawasan peserta yang dalam hal ini anak berkebutuhan khusus sehingga termotivasi untuk terus belajar guna peningkatan kemampuan akademik peserta di bidang matematika.Abstract: This training activity aimed to introduce and improve understanding of children with special needs about flat shapes, cubes, and blocks. This activity was carried out at the SDLB Negeri Benpasi Kefamenanu, located in Benpasi Village, North Central Timor Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province. The participants in this training activity were 15 students of SDLB Negeri Benpasi Kefamenanu. The implementation of this training consisted of two stages: pre-activity and activity stages. The pre-activity stage was carried out through the implementation of an initial survey to find out the description of mathematics learning for children with special needs at the elementary school level and the obstacles experienced. The activity stage was carried out through training and evaluating. The evaluation was carried out using a participant response questionnaire. Based on the evaluation results, it can be obtained information that this training activity received a positive response from the participants. Through training in the use of fun math learning media, it is sufficient to increase the knowledge and insight of participants, in this case children with special needs, so that they are motivated to continue learning in order to improve the participants' academic abilities in the field of mathematics.Keywords: Learning Media; Children With Special Needs; Fun Mat

PROSES BERPIKIR SISWA TUNAGRAHITA RINGAN DALAM MEMAHAMI KONSEP GEOMETRI BERDASARKAN TEORI JEAN PIAGET

Mental retardation certainly has a different thought process from other normal children. Because it is different, there needs to be a study of the thought process with the aim of finding a solution to overcome the problems that are often faced by mentally retarded students in learning mathematics. The purpose of this study was to describe the thought process of mentally retarded students in understanding geometric concepts based on Piaget's theory. The subjects of this study were two mentally retarded students who were in class VI. The stages of the research carried out were carrying out a learning process for three consecutive days to recognize geometry using visual aids then at the end of the activity, mentally retarded students were given evaluation questions in the form of make a match. The results showed that the two mentally retarded students experienced disequilibrium several times until they finally experienced the process of assimilation and accommodation. However, only one student experienced equilibrium who was able to connect flat figures and spatial figures based on the results of their observations. The learning process for mentally retarded students must be repeated until they arrive at an understanding of mathematics

Pelatihan Charting dengan Microsoft Excel Sebagai Sarana Pembelajaran Matematika di SMP Kristen Kefamenanu

Mathematics learning carried out at SMP Kristen Kefamenanu refers to a teacher-centered learning system. Microsoft Excel is one application that can be used as a medium for learning mathematics to make it easier for students to solve problems, especially those related to the presentation of graphs. SMP Kristen Kefamenanu has a Computer Laboratory which also has a Microsoft Excel application. The purpose of this service is to provide Charting training using Microsoft Excel as a means of mathematics learning tool to students in SMP Kristen Kefamenanu. The activity was carried out for two days, and during the course of the activity students showed enthusiasm and were able to follow directions during the activity. The results of feedback given by students on the answers to the satisfaction questionnaire showed that students gave categories of strongly agree and agree on 18 questions. This shows that the existence of PKM activities that have been carried out can help students better understand mathematics lessons delivered at school, as well as increase knowledge for students in using Microsoft Excel as a tool for mathematics learning

Pengenalan Konsep Geometri Bagi Anak Tunagrahita Ringan Melalui Media Pembelajaran Alat Peraga

Anak berkebutuhan khusus dalam hal ini anak tunagrahita ringan merupakan anak yang mengalami hambatan dalam perkembangan perilaku (mental) serta daya tangkap lemah sehingga memiliki dampak pada kesadaran dan perkembangan perilaku dalam proses pembelajaran. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk mengenalkan konsep bangun geometri bagi siswa tunagrahita ringan di Sekolah Dasar Luar Biasa Negeri Benpasi, Kota Kefamenanu. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dilakukan di Panti Asuhan SLB Negeri Benpasi, Kota Kefamenanu. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan ini yaitu pelatihan berupa demonstrasi serta pendampingan. Peserta dalam kegiatan ini adalah lima siswa tunagrahita ringan jenjang sekolah dasar. Kegiatan pengabdian ini terlaksana dengan baik, karena didukung dari berbagai pihak seperti kepala sekolah SDLB Negeri Benpasi, Pimpinan Panti Asuhan SLB Benpasi. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi kegiatan diperoleh bahwa adanya peningkatan kemampuan siswa tunagrahita ringan dalam mengenal konsep bangun geometri. Hal ini terlihat dari hasil evaluasi yaitu ada empat siswa tunagrahita ringan atau 80% menunjukan kecepatan dan ketepatan dalam menjawab, dan ada satu siswa tunagrahita ringan atau 20% menunjukkan hanya ketepatan namun lambat dalam menjawab

PENGELOLAAN PENYUSUNAN DOKUMEN AKREDITASI BAGI SEKOLAH DASAR DAN MENENGAH

Abstrak: Kurangnya pemahaman pihak sekolah tentang isi instrumen akreditasi serta alur dari proses pelaksanaan akreditasi Instrumen Akreditasi Satuan Pendidikan (IASP) 2020 mendorong tim pengabdi untuk memberikan sosialisasi pengelolaan penyusunan dokumen sekolah sebagai bentuk persiapan dalam menghadapi reakreditasi sekolah. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini untuk memberikan cara pengelolaan penyusunan dokumen akreditasi bagi sekolah dasar dan menengah di Kecamatan Amanuban Tengah sebanyak 21 orang yang terdiri dari Kepala Sekolah dan Guru-Guru jenjang sekolah dasar dan sekolah menengah pertama. Tahapan kegiatan meliputi: (1) persiapan, (2) sosialisasi persiapan akreditasi, (3) pelaksanaan kegiatan, (4) evaluasi kegiatan dengan menggunakan angket. Hasil analisis evaluasi pelaksanaan kegiatan diperoleh bahwa peserta kegiatan telah memahami dengan baik cara pengelolaan dokumen dari instrumen akreditasi IASP 2020 sekolah dasar dan menengah serta adanya peningkatan pemahaman dan kesadaran pihak sekolah tentang akreditasi sebagai salah satu faktor dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan.Abstract: The lack of the school of understanding about the contents of the accreditation instrument and the flow of the accreditation implementation process of the 2020 Education of Unit Accreditation Instrument (IASP) encourage the service implementation team to provide dissemination on the management of school document as preparation for school reaccreditation. The purpose of this service activity is to provide a way to manage the preparation of accreditation documents for primary and secondary schools in Amanuban Tengah Subdistrict as many as 21 people consisting of the Principal and Teachers of the elementary and junior high school levels. The stages of activities include: (1) preparation, (2) dissemination of accreditation preparation, (3) implementation of activities, (4) evaluation of activities using a questionnaire. The results of the analysis of the evaluation of the implementation of the activities showed that the participants had a good understanding of how to manage documents from the IASP 2020 accreditation instrument for elementary and secondary schools and there was an increase in the understanding and awareness of schools about accreditation as a factor in improving the quality of education

Fast Training Right on the National Examination question for Junior High School

Community service activity aimed to provide an understanding of mathematical concepts consists of tips and tricks to solve exam questions for junior high school students. Furthermore, the background of the implementation of this training is to get students used to solve non-routine problems found during national examination, particularly in mathematics subject. This community service was carried out from October to November 2019 with 15 participants. This activity consists of three stages starting with the field assessment, the implementation stage and the last is final stage. In the field assessment stage, the servant determines the trainees to work national examination questions quickly and accurately that is specifically for junior high school students and determine where training will be held. The second stage is the implementation stage for exposuring to rapid strategies in administering national examination, question and answer, and national examination simulation. The final stage is the evaluation stage that is an implementation evaluation of theactivities that have been arranged based on each task that has been given .Based on the training activity that have been carried out it can be concluded that the training activity adds the knowledge and skills of students in working mathematics national examination questions. In addition, this training motivates students to be more active in learning mathematics and to be more mature in preparing for the upcoming national examination.
