A partir de uma série de entrevistas a estudantes universitários angolanos, a estudar em Portugal realizadas em Lisboa e no Porto, e a profissionais que estudaram no ensino superior português, em Luanda, procurar-se-á aferir o lugar ocupado pelas “redes sociais” construídas, e mantidas, em torno de relações familiares alargadas, assim como de relações académicas ou outras, e a sua repercussão na consolidação de redes sociais mais amplas (como as que ligam estes formandos ao país de formação, e as que ligam este país ao seu país de origem) com implicações na cooperação entre os dois países e, mais concretamente, no desenvolvimento de Angola

Investigating factors that affect willingness to pay an analysis on freemium social media apps

While social media has grown in popularity and usage in recent years, little is known about users' willingness to pay for the premium version of them. In this study, we investigate how consumers' perceived value is associated with their intention to use freemium services and to purchase premium content. We employ data gathered through an online survey (N=200) among the users of freemium social media networks, like LinkedIn, YouTube, Reddit and Flickr and tested 15 different hypotheses, using PLS-SEM. Firstly, we find support for the security hypothesis proposed in this study, indicating that if users value the security component of the freemium social media, they will have a higher intention to use the service overall. Secondly, the higher quality of the freemium service leads to higher usage intentions, which further leads to higher purchase intentions. Thirdly, the price value of freemium services shows to have a negative association with the intention to purchase premium content. Fourthly, social platform community is found to positively affect premium purchases. Lastly, we find support for the usage frequency hypothesis proposed in this study, indicating that if a user establishes a habit of using a social media, he will eventually decide to buy the premium version. The current study's findings contribute to the uniqueness of the freemium business model, implying that increasing perceived value of the freemium service, improving security, or increasing usage frequency can all contribute to and subtract from future profitability via increased retention on the one hand and reduced monetization on the other.Embora as redes sociais tenham crescido em popularidade e utilização nos últimos anos, pouco se sabe sobre a vontade dos utilizadores de pagar pela versão premium das mesmas. Neste estudo, investigamos como o valor percebido pelos consumidores está associado à sua intenção de utilizar os serviços freemium e de adquirir conteúdos premium. Investigamos os dados recolhidos através de um inquérito online (N=200) e testamos 15 hipóteses diferentes, utilizando PLS-SEM. Em primeiro lugar, encontrámos suporte para a hipótese de Segurança proposta neste estudo, indicando que os utilizadores que valorizam a componente de segurança nas redes sociais freemium terão uma maior intenção de utilizar o serviço. Em segundo lugar, a maior qualidade da rede social leva a maiores intenções de utilização, o que leva a maiores intenções de compra. Em terceiro lugar, o valor do preço dos serviços freemium mostra ter uma associação negativa com a intenção de compra de conteúdos premium. Em quarto lugar, observámos que a comunidade social afeta positivamente as compra da versão premium. Finalmente, encontrámos apoio para a hipótese de frequência de utilização proposta neste estudo, indicando que se um utilizador estabelecer o hábito de utilizar uma rede social freemium, acabará por decidir comprar a versão premium. As conclusões do presente estudo realçam a singularidade do modelo de negócio freemium, implicando que o aumento do valor percebido do serviço, a melhoria da segurança, ou o aumento da frequência de utilização podem contribuir ou subtrair da rentabilidade futura através do aumento da retenção ou da redução da monetização

Troia Roman baths (Portugal) – Assessment of history of interventions

An assessment was made in order to understand and document its actual state of conservation, to help planning a future coherent conservation operation

Autonomous 3D Exploration of Large Structures Using an UAV Equipped with a 2D LIDAR

This paper addressed the challenge of exploring large, unknown, and unstructured industrial environments with an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The resulting system combined well-known components and techniques with a new manoeuvre to use a low-cost 2D laser to measure a 3D structure. Our approach combined frontier-based exploration, the Lazy Theta* path planner, and a flyby sampling manoeuvre to create a 3D map of large scenarios. One of the novelties of our system is that all the algorithms relied on the multi-resolution of the octomap for the world representation. We used a Hardware-in-the-Loop (HitL) simulation environment to collect accurate measurements of the capability of the open-source system to run online and on-board the UAV in real-time. Our approach is compared to different reference heuristics under this simulation environment showing better performance in regards to the amount of explored space. Contributes to the profile of the brazilian literary tourist: experience and motivation

This exploratory and quantitative research aims to contribute data on individuals engaging in literary tourism regarding organisation and preparation practices, visited literary places, travel motivations and surprising aspects of the experience. To collect data, an online questionnaire survey was sent to the participants in a literary festival, enquiring about previous literary-inspired visits. The findings indicate that writers’ house museums are the most visited literary tourist attraction and that visitors in an upper-income bracket prepare their literary-inspired visits autonomously by conducting online research and (re)reading the literary texts. In contrast, those in a lower-income bracket often rely on viewing audio-visual adaptations of books. Concerning the motivation to go on literary touring, most respondents indicate the amplification of knowledge about the literary work and the author. In the experience of literary tourism, the analysis of the data reveals there is an emotional and intellectual interaction in which imagination and visualisation intervene to co-create the literary place. Relatório final de estágio realizado na Escola Básica 2, 3 - Secundária Aquilino Ribeiro

Este relatório tem como objetivo fazer uma reflexão crítica sobre as práticas desenvolvidas no estágio pedagógico em Educação Física, na Escola EB 2,3/S Aquilino Ribeiro no ano letivo de 2018/2019. O estágio pedagógico carateriza-se por ser um momento de formação onde existe uma integração do professor estagiário na docência. O professor estagiário tem a possibilidade de experimentar as várias funções relacionadas com a profissão: a lecionação de aulas de Educação de Física, trabalho de investigação, acompanhamento de um núcleo de desporto escolar e acompanhamento do trabalho efetuado por um Diretor de Turma. Pretendo ao longo do relatório dar a conhecer a experiência adquirida ao longo do ano, as dificuldades sentidas em cada área de intervenção, as estratégias usadas e ainda que contribuições tiveram para o meu desenvolvimento profissional e pessoal. O balanço no final que faço desta experiência é claramente positivo, com um desenvolvimento continuo ao longo do tempo das minhas competências nos vários papeis que a função abrange. A observação, o estudo continuo e autónomo, a autorreflexão e a reflexão em grupo tiveram um papel fundamental na aprendizagem e desenvolvimento da função de docente. No entanto este processo deverá estar sempre aberto e em construção, pois o professor deve estar sempre atualizado e ter a capacidade de se adaptar a novas realidades para que o sucesso escolar dos alunos seja efetivo.This report aims to make a critical reflection on the practices developed in the student teaching process in Physical Education, in the EB 2,3 / S Aquilino Ribeiro School in the academic year of 2018/2019. The practicum is characterized by being a moment of training where there is an integration as a teacher in a school. The student teacher has the possibility to experiment with the different functions related to the profession: teaching Physical Education classes, research work, monitoring a school sports and monitoring and help the work done by a class director. Throughout the report, I intend to make known the experience acquired during the year, the difficulties experienced in each area of intervention, the strategies used and even the contributions that have been made for my professional and personal development. The balance at the end of this experience is clearly positive, with a continuous development over time of my competencies in the different functions that this profession covers. The observation, a continuous and autonomous study, a self-reflection and group reflection, played a fundamental role in learning and developing the functions of teachers. However, this should always be open and under construction process, a teacher must be always update and have the capacity to adjust to new realities in order to success is effective by the students

Entry by research-based spin-offs

Reflecting the increasing number of research based spin-offs (RBSOs) created since the nineties, previous studies focus their analysis on the factors that influence university entrepreneurship. However, empirical studies that investigate the determinants of variation on RBSO creation across regions are scarce. Using a unique self-collected dataset that comprehends the population of RBSOs created in Portugal from 1995 until to 2007 we investigate the intensity of spin-offs entry across regions, by focusing on the characteristics of the universities and the region in which the spin-off is located. Our results suggest that the quality and prestige of the universities located in a municipality, as well as the presence of university-affiliated incubators and/or university research parks have a positive impact on the intensity of RBSO creation. Regarding the regional characteristics, the availability of qualified human capital and the urbanization economies seem to exert an important effect on spin-off activity across regions
