Convergence of spectral truncations for compact metric groups
We consider Gromov-Hausdorff convergence of state spaces for spectral
truncations of a compact metric group . We work in the context of order-unit
spaces and consider orthogonal projections in
corresponding to finite subsets of irreducible representations . We then prove that the sequence of truncated state
spaces Gromov-Hausdorff converges to
the original state space , when these are equipped with a metric
associated to a Lip-norm which in turn is induced by the action of .Comment: 9 page
On the order of summability of the Fourier inversion formula
In this article we show that the order of the point value, in the sense of Łojasiewicz, of a tempered distribution and the order of summability of the pointwise Fourier inversion formula are closely related. Assuming that the order of the point values and certain order of growth at infinity are given for a tempered distribution, we estimate the order of summability of the Fourier inversion formula. For Fourier series, and in other cases, it is shown that if the distribution has a distributional point value of order k, then its Fourier series is e.v. Cesàro summable to the distributional point value of order k+1. Conversely, we also show that if the pointwise Fourier inversion formula is e.v. Cesàro summable of order k, then the distribution is the (k+1)-th derivative of a locally integrable function, and the distribution has a distributional point value of order k+2. We also establish connections between orders of summability and local behavior for other Fourier inversion problems
Mobile devices have become part of daily social life. However, the vulnerabilities of this equipment are widespread, affecting information or damaging the system internally. Within this problem, this research proposes the implementation of a virus that allows affecting the Android victim device focusing on finding the vulnerabilities through penetration tests. The virus was designed through the principle of thread programming to a generation of scripts. Furthermore, the attack on Android devices’ vulnerable systems is conducted, applying social engineering techniques. Thus, through imperative programming techniques and functional, the access and use have been achieved, given that the virus had classes that allow connection and communication with the device. Each class was developed together so that in this way, there is a precise relationship between them. In this study, Kali Linux, with different Metasploit commands, was used. The proofs of concept were conducted using controlled virtual network environments. For this, a server and a platform were used to use the IP and the Ngrok host, which allows us to generate a link with the application that will violate Android’s services and security over secure tunnels. The results show that the operating system tends to be prone to internal damage. At the same time, users can be affected when their security and privacy are compromised. The proposal contributes significantly to a new version of Android’s security patches, implementing a malware model that will integrate techniques to mitigate this problem in the future.

Cerebral Infarction Associated with Cocaine Use
We report the case of a young man with an acute infarction of the left putamen and caudate nucleus, whose symptoms appeared six hours after intranasal use of approximately 0.5 g of cocaine hydrochloride. It seems probable that in this patient cocaine consumption played a role in the development of stroke
Učinak metformina na parametre pokretljivosti sperme miševa i goveda
Sperm motility is one of the most relevant parameters related to the fertilizing capability of the spermatozoa. Understanding the anatomy and physiology of sperm flagellum allows for the use of diverse molecules for improving sperm motility, such as metformin. Metformin is a molecule known to stimulate the capability of the cell to uptake and metabolize its energy substrate, acting as an activator of AMP kinase. Its activation leads to the phosphorylation of several substrates implicated in the hyperactivation of the flagellum, as a previous step for the appropriate fertility of the spermatozoa. This paper presents the results of experiments testing the effect of metformin in bull and murine spermatozoa, and reviews aspects related to the use of energy substrate by the spermatozoa, and the molecular mechanisms implicated in metformin role on sperm motility. Since semen analysis is always performed in Eppendorf tubes, whereas the capacitation of sperm cells for in vitro fertilization is performed in drops, we evaluated if there were differences in CASA parameters between sperm cells evaluated in Eppendorf tubes versus drops.
Association of a Genetic Risk Score With Body Mass Index Across Different Birth Cohorts
Importance Many genetic variants are associated with body mass index (BMI). Associations may have changed with the 20th century obesity epidemic and may differ for black vs white individuals.
Objective Using birth cohort as an indicator for exposure to obesogenic environment, to evaluate whether genetic predisposition to higher BMI has a larger magnitude of association among adults from more recent birth cohorts, who were exposed to the obesity epidemic at younger ages.
Design, Setting, and Participants Observational study of 8788 adults in the US national Health and Retirement Study who were aged 50 years and older, born between 1900 and 1958, with as many as 12 BMI assessments from 1992 to 2014.
Exposures A multilocus genetic risk score for BMI (GRS-BMI), calculated as the weighted sum of alleles of 29 single nucleotide polymorphisms associated with BMI, with weights equal to the published per-allele effects. The GRS-BMI represents how much each person’s BMI is expected to differ, based on genetic background (with respect to these 29 loci), from the BMI of a sample member with median genetic risk. The median-centered GRS-BMI ranged from −1.68 to 2.01.
Main Outcomes and Measures BMI based on self-reported height and weight.
Results GRS-BMI was significantly associated with BMI among white participants (n = 7482; mean age at first assessment, 59 years; 3373 [45%] were men; P \u3c.001) and among black participants (n = 1306; mean age at first assessment, 57 years; 505 [39%] were men; P \u3c.001) but accounted for 0.99% of variation in BMI among white participants and 1.37% among black participants. In multilevel models accounting for age, the magnitude of associations of GRS-BMI with BMI were larger for more recent birth cohorts. For example, among white participants, each unit higher GRS-BMI was associated with a difference in BMI of 1.37 (95% CI, 0.93 to 1.80) if born after 1943, and 0.17 (95% CI, −0.55 to 0.89) if born before 1924 (P = .006). For black participants, each unit higher GRS-BMI was associated with a difference in BMI of 3.70 (95% CI, 2.42 to 4.97) if born after 1943, and 1.44 (95% CI, −1.40 to 4.29) if born before 1924.
Conclusions and Relevance For participants born between 1900 and 1958, the magnitude of association between BMI and a genetic risk score for BMI was larger among persons born in later cohorts. This suggests that associations of known genetic variants with BMI may be modified by obesogenic environments
