    Constraint Centric Scheduling Guide

    Get PDF
The advent of architectures with software-exposed resources (Spatial Architectures) has created a demand for universally applicable scheduling techniques. This paper describes our generalized spatial scheduling framework, formulated with Integer Linear Programming, and specifically accomplishes two goals. First, using the ?Simple? architecture, it illustrates how to use our open-source tool to create a customized scheduler and covers problem formulation with ILP and GAMS. Second, it summarizes results on the application to three real architectures (TRIPS,DySER,PLUG), demonstrating the technique?s practicality and competitiveness with existing schedulers

Entropy/IP: Uncovering Structure in IPv6 Addresses

In this paper, we introduce Entropy/IP: a system that discovers Internet address structure based on analyses of a subset of IPv6 addresses known to be active, i.e., training data, gleaned by readily available passive and active means. The system is completely automated and employs a combination of information-theoretic and machine learning techniques to probabilistically model IPv6 addresses. We present results showing that our system is effective in exposing structural characteristics of portions of the IPv6 Internet address space populated by active client, service, and router addresses. In addition to visualizing the address structure for exploration, the system uses its models to generate candidate target addresses for scanning. For each of 15 evaluated datasets, we train on 1K addresses and generate 1M candidates for scanning. We achieve some success in 14 datasets, finding up to 40% of the generated addresses to be active. In 11 of these datasets, we find active network identifiers (e.g., /64 prefixes or `subnets') not seen in training. Thus, we provide the first evidence that it is practical to discover subnets and hosts by scanning probabilistically selected areas of the IPv6 address space not known to contain active hosts a priori.Comment: Paper presented at the ACM IMC 2016 in Santa Monica, USA (https://dl.acm.org/citation.cfm?id=2987445). Structural and adhesion properties of poly(ethyl 2-cyanoacrylate) post-cured at different temperatures and times

    Get PDF
The structure and properties of poly(ethyl 2-cyanoacrylate)s (pECNs) cured at 25 °C during 24 hours, and post-cured at different temperatures (45-90 °C) and times (2-6 hours) were studied. Irrespective of the post-cure conditions, pECN was not fully polymerized and two different structures of different molecular weights and topographies were obtained. The post-cure decreased the shear strength values in joints made with aluminum and ethyl cyanoacrylate due to the decrease in the percentage of higher molecular weight polymeric chains and the formation of new short polymeric chains by unzipping de-polymerization mechanism, both contributed to decrease the mechanical properties. On the other hand, the post-cure changed the morphology of pECN because of nano-spheres were produced by curing at 25 °C which were not present after post-cure at 90 °C.This work was supported by the University of Alicante [VIGROB-001, VIGROB-173] and the Spanish Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad [CTQ2015-66624-P]

Midazolam and haloperidol for palliative sedation: physicochemical stability and compatibility of parenteral admixtures

    Get PDF
This study was done to determine the time while the binary admixtures with midazolam and haloperidol drugs are administered by perfusion to the patients in the clinical routine. Samples with different concentrations of both drugs were prepared following the usual clinical practice. Solvents used were 0.9 % sodium chloride solution and 5% dextrose, and viaflo plastic bags were used as the containers of the admixtures. Samples were not protected from light and were stored at 20 ºC or at 4 ºC. Compatibility and physicochemical stability were studied by visual inspection, turbidity measurement, pH determination and ultraviolet detection high performance liquid chromatography (UV-HPLC) was used to determine midazolam and haloperidol concentrations. The assay was validated following the FDA and EMA guidelines. Darunavir was used as internal standard (IS). For the studied admixtures, turbidity measurements and pH determinations showed little changes in function of the time. Haloperidol and midazolam concentrations determined by HPLC are within the acceptable range of drug concentrations, which are considered stable for four days in case of admixtures stored at 20 ºC and for seven days for refrigerated admixtures. Taking into account the microbiological risk matrix, the compatibility and the chemical and microbiological stability of the midazolam and haloperidol in the co-administered admixtures in viaflo plastic bags with 0.9 % sodium chloride solution and 5% dextrose can be set as 48 hours when samples are stored at 20 ºC and one week if they are refrigerated

    Next Generation Application-Aware Flow Monitoring

    Get PDF
Deep packet inspection (DPI) and IP flow monitoring are frequently used network monitoring approaches. Although the DPI provides application visibility, detailed examination of every packet is computationally intensive. The IP flow monitoring achieves high performance by processing only packet headers, but provides less details about the traffic itself. Application-aware flow monitoring is proposed as an attempt to combine DPI accuracy and IP flow monitoring performance. However, the impacts, benefits and disadvantages of application flow monitoring have not been studied in detail yet. The work proposed in this paper attempts to rectify this lack of research. We also propose a next generation flow measurement for application monitoring. The flows will represent events within the application protocol, e.g., web page download, instead of packet stream. Finally, we will investigate the performance of different approaches to application classification and application parsing with a computational complexity in mind.Často používané metody monitorování sítě jsou hloubková inspekce paketů (DPI) a monitorování síťových IP toků.

Reactivity of novel ethyl cyanoacrylate and 6-hydroxyhexyl acrylate adhesive mixtures and their influence on adhesion and thermal stability

    Get PDF
Different amounts (5–10 wt%) of an acrylate compound - 6-hydroxyhexyl acrylate (HHA) - was added to ethyl cyanoacrylate (ECN) for decreasing its stiffness and improving its thermal stability without decreasing its adhesion properties. The addition of HHA increased the immediate adhesion and decreased noticeably the glass transition temperature of the ECN. No reaction between HHA and ECN was observed in the ECN + HHA mixtures stored at 8 °C during long periods of time, but after 192 days a copolymerization by transesterification reaction between ECN and HHA was observed. The copolymerization of ECN and HHA produced new structures with broader molecular weight distribution and different tacticity than the ones obtained in the polymerization of ECN only. Because of the differences in structure, noticeable changes in the adhesion, structural, and thermal properties of the ECN + HHA polymers were observed. Whereas the ECN polymer decomposed at 200 °C, the copolymers of ECN + HHA decomposed near 300 °C.This work was supported by the University of Alicante (VIGROB-001, VIGROB-173) and the Spanish Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad (CTQ2015-66624-P)

Theory of Mind in Borderline Personality Disorder A Possible Endophenotypic Factor

    Get PDF
The purpose of this study is to examine whether theory of mind (ToM) is an endophenotypic marker of borderline personality disorder (BPD), thus constituting an etiopathogenic factor of the disease. This would suggest familial vulnerability to BPD. This was a case-control study involving 146 individuals with 57 BPD patients, 32 first-degree relatives, and 57 controls (median age of BPD and control = 33.4 years; relatives = 52.9 years; BPD females and controls = 91.2%; female relatives = 62.5%). All the participants completed the Spanish version of the Movie for the Assessment of Social Cognition test to evaluate the ToM subclassification: interpretation of emotions, thoughts and intentions. BPD patients and their healthy first-degree relatives exhibited significant deficits in the correct interpretation of emotions and intentions compared to healthy controls. Both patients with BPD and their healthy first-degree relatives exhibited significant deficits in ToM, which suggests that it may be an etiopathogenic factor of BPD, and ToM (interpretation of emotions, thoughts and intentions) is a possible endophenotypic marker of BPD, suggesting a genetic predisposition to the disorder. Therefore, ToM could be considered as an indicator for the early detection of the disorder of and intervention for BPD
