Supersymmetric Warped AdS in Extended Topologically Massive Supergravity

We determine the most general form of off-shell N=(1,1) supergravity field configurations in three dimensions by requiring that at least one off-shell Killing spinor exists. We then impose the field equations of the topologically massive off-shell supergravity and find a class of solutions whose properties crucially depend on the norm of the auxiliary vector field. These are spacelike-squashed and timelike-stretched AdS_3 for the spacelike and timelike norms, respectively. At the transition point where the norm vanishes, the solution is null warped AdS_3. This occurs when the coefficient of the Lorentz-Chern-Simons term is related to the AdS radius by μ=2\mu\ell=2. We find that the spacelike-squashed AdS_3 can be modded out by a suitable discrete subgroup of the isometry group, yielding an extremal black hole solution which avoid closed timelike curves.Comment: 21 pages, references added, published versio

Background: The human papillomavirus (HPV) is an important public health problem that can cause cervical cancer. HPVs were classified into high-risk (HR-HPV) and low-risk (LR-HPV) types. In this study, we aimed to determine the prevalence and genotype distribution of HR-HPV infection in Samsun province in Turkey. Methods: Cervical smear samples taken from 5406 women over a 23-month period were evaluated for the presence of HPV infection. The detection of HPV genotypes was performed using RT-PCR technology. HPV detection and genotyping were performed using RT-PCR method. HR-HPV types are divided into 3 groups as type 16, type 18 and other types (31, 33, 35, 39, 45, 51, 52, 56, 58, 59, 66, 68, with or without type 16 and 18). The results were evaluated statistically. Results: The mean age of HR-HPV positive patients was 39.56 years (20-68 years). The prevalance of HR-HPV types did not differ between different age groups (p˃0.05). Overall, 9.17% of women (496/5406 samples) were found to be positive at least one type of HR-HPV. HPV type 16 was detected in 28.62%, type 18 in 9.67%, and other types in 78.83%. The most common HR-HPV type was other types (p˂0.001). Type 16 was most common than type 18 (p˂0.001). The patients were evaluated by dividing them into 6 age groups. Type 16 positivity was higher in 30-39 ages while type18 and other types positivity were higher in the 40-49 age group. When the 23-month period of HPV test was evaluated according to months and seasons, the highest prevalance was seen in June 2021 and Summer 2021. Conclusion: To our knowledge, this is the first large-scale study of HR-HPV prevalence and genotype distribution among women in Samsun Province of Turkey. The other types containing one or more types made up the majority of the studied population © 2022. Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention. All Rights Reserve

Aim: The aim of this retrospective study is to assess the effectiveness of surgical intervention for Kienböck's disease using 4-5 Extensor Compartmental Artery (4-5 ECA) pedicled osseous flap Method: Patients who underwent 4-5 ECA pedicled bone grafts for Kienböck's disease between January 2012 and January 2022 were included in the study. The patient files were analyzed retrospectively for age, gender, follow-up time, and complications. Disease staging was performed preoperatively using direct X-ray and MRI, and radiological improvement was evaluated postoperatively using radiography. The functional and clinical assessment was made by comparing preoperative and postoperative VAS, Q-Dash, and Mayo scores. Results: This study involved 23 patients (12 female and 11 male) with Kienböck's disease who underwent 4-5 ECA pedicled bone graft surgery. 13 cases were right-handed while 10 were left-handed. The mean age was 37.5 ± 12.5 years, and the mean follow-up time was 68 months. The mean preoperative Q-Dash score was 78.8 (± 9), the VAS score was 6.5 (±1.2, and the Mayo wrist score was 34.34 (±11.8). The mean postoperative Q-Dash score was 33.1( ±10), the VAS score was 2.4 (±1.7), and the Mayo wrist score was 73.9 (±14.5). The differences between preoperative and postoperative Q-DASH scores (p<0.05), VAS scores (p<0.05), and Mayo wrist scores (p<0.05) were statistically significantly improved. Disease progression was observed in only two patients based on the Lichtman Classification in their follow-up radiographs. Conclusion: Our study demonstrates that the surgical treatment of Kienböck's disease using a 4-5 ECA pedicled osseous flap is a reliable and effective surgical treatment option

This study aims to determine the rates of injuries, the types of injuries and what part of the body is mostly injured in professional taekwondo sportsmen during competitions. This study involves 287 sportsmen participated in the interuniversity Taekwando championship in Ordu. Injuries during a match of the championship was determined by a team. The characteristics and types of injuries, the sportsmen’s verbal expressions were registered by a pre-determined team, and it was mentioned about how these injuries occurred, in which part of the body the injuries were seen. Among 287 sportsmen in this study, 178 sportsmen were male, 109 ones were female. 46 universities took part in this championship. The championship lasted three days and total 271 competitions were done. 539 injuries were determined in total. The mostly seen type of injury was hematoma (43%), the mostly injured part was in lower extremities 416 (77%), most of the injuries were ones seen in defense (36%). No injuries were not observed in neck, shoulder, spine or trunk and cerebral injuries were not also observed. As a result of the study, it was explained that most of the injuries seen in the taekwondo competitions did not require the medical intervention and the lower extremities were mostly injured in these competitions. In the light of these findings, it could be said that these parts be protected during the competitions and the defense techniques be different

Macrofungi are good food resources, which have not only medicinal properties but are nutritive as well. For centuries they have been used for preventing several diseases including cancer, hypercholesterolemia and hypertension. They are also known to present antimicrobial activity, thus the aim of the present study is to put forward antimicrobial activity of ethanol extract of Leucoagaricus leucothites (Vittad.) Wasser 1977, a macro fungi and in addition to determine the chemical composition by Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry. Nineteen bacteria strains and one yeast strain are used in antimicrobial screening. According to the data obtained from the study L. leucothites presented both antibacterial and antifungal activity against the bacteria and yeast strains used at different concentrations with different levels. Although there are some previous studies, it can be proposed that this study is the first detailed screening report regarding the antibacterial and antifungal potential of L. leucothites and the compounds found in L. leucothites ethanol extract

6D Dyonic String With Active Hyperscalars

We derive the necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a Killing spinor in N=(1,0) gauge supergravity in six dimensions coupled to a single tensor multiplet, vector multiplets and hypermultiplets. These are shown to imply most of the field equations and the remaining ones are determined. In this framework, we find a novel 1/8 supersymmetric dyonic string solution with nonvanishing hypermultiplet scalars. The activated scalars parametrize a 4 dimensional submanifold of a quaternionic hyperbolic ball. We employ an identity map between this submanifold and the internal space transverse to the string worldsheet. The internal space forms a 4 dimensional analog of the Gell-Mann-Zwiebach tear-drop which is noncompact with finite volume. While the electric charge carried by the dyonic string is arbitrary, the magnetic charge is fixed in Planckian units, and hence necessarily non-vanishing. The source term needed to balance a delta function type singularity at the origin is determined. The solution is also shown to have 1/4 supersymmetric AdS_3 x S^3 near horizon limit where the radii are proportional to the electric charge.Comment: 28 pages, latex, minor corrections mad
