Phytochemical Screening of Sorghum (Sorghum Sp) with Thin Layer Chromatography Method

    Get PDF
Sorghum is a food plant rich in benefits and has the advantage of being free gluten; it contains antioxidants and has a low glycemic index. The purpose of this research is to determine the content of compounds in sorghum. In the research, the variety of KD 4 sorghum has been used, which was macerated by absolute methanol. Results screening using thin-layer chromatography showed that methanol extract of sorghum contained flavonoid, phenol, triterpenoid, tannin, and saponin compounds, and finally, these compounds will be useful for pharmaceutical products

MSMEs are the backbone of the economy in many countries, including Indonesia. In facing increasingly fierce competition and dynamic changes in the business environment, the preparation of financial reports is important for MSME players. The purpose of holding this community service activity is to help MSMEs in optimizing the use of information technology to manage business finances. This training activity was held at the Sepanjang Village Office in July 2023. The method used in this training was the lecture method and practice using applications. The training results showed that all MSME actors present were able to compile simple financial reports using the Buku Warung application. Through the preparation of these simple financial reports, MSME actors can make better business decisions than before

Imagine where we are in 2019. We are still living in best possible way, we gather, we socialize, and we celebrate plenty of things together with our loved one without worry. The 2019 is just two years ago, but in certainly feels like longer than that. Now, we are at the year of 2021. The pandemic has beeb with us for 17 months now. The countres all over the worlds loosen and tighten its boreder as the pandemics evolve into certainty when the vaccinations held. Indees, the catastrophic of the pandemics didn't just leave us behind, many of us losing out loved one and in grief. Yet we are still hopeful of the future especialyy when Science nurtured our thinking while God is with all of us at heart

Tolerance of Trichoderma asperellum Isolates to Chemical Fungicide and Their Antagonistic Activity against Phytophthora infestans

    No full text
Trichoderma constitute filamentous fungi which are frequently used as biocontrol agents against plant pathogenic fungi. The tolerance of these fungi to chemical fungicides is a prerequisite for biocontrol agents for their application to suppress the growth of some soil-borne pathogens. The objectives of this study were to evaluate tolerance of Trichoderma asperellum local isolates TK and TS from Batu-East Java, to mefenoxam fungicide, as well as to identify in-vitro the antagonistic activity of T. asperellum against the plant pathogen Phytophthora infestans by using dual-culture method. Thus, an integrated approach of chemical and biological methods was used to control the growth of P. infestans. This study was conducted at the Department of Biology, Faculty of Science and Technology Airlangga University, Indonesia, during March through December, 2012. T. asperellum isolates TK and TS were evaluated in-vitro for their efficacy against P. infestans and tolerance to 5000 ppm mefenoxam. The results showed that the growth of the two T. asperellum isolates on Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA) medium supplemented with 5 mL/L mefenoxam was up to 67%, while their antagonistic activity against P. infestans in dual-culture was 5,08% and 16,37%. The results are expected to help in selection of potential biocontrol agents

Efficiency Study of Neem Seeds-Based Nanobiopesticides

    Get PDF
An innovative nanosized natural pesticide based on neem seeds was developed. The resulting nanobiopesticide (NBP) was synthesised by entangling neem seed extract on chitosan cross-linked with succinic anhydride via ultrasonic treatment following purification. Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR), ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) and dynamic light scattering (DLS) spectrophotometers were used to characterise the resulting NBP, and its stability was observed against changes in pH, temperature and UV radiation

Chitosan-Based Neem Seed Extract Nanocapsules: A New Approach On Enhancing Its Effectiveness As An Insecticide Delivery Agent

    Get PDF
The utilization of nanotechnology in pesticides delivery has aiming to reduce the indiscriminate use of conventional pesticides and to ensure their safe application. The focus of the present research is on the development of a nanoencapsulated neem seed extract with chitosan as an encapsulate introduced through a harmonically ultrasonic wave treatment. The verification of the presence of AI extract and chitosan in the nanoencapsulate obtained and its characterization are critical to be performed. The method advanced provides a successful insertion of AI in chitosan with no variation of its initial properties producing a nanosized material (below than 200 nm) with good size distribution. This study provides a fundamental and critical information for researchers and engineers in the field of nanotechnology especially in terms of nanoencapsulation techniques use to deliver insecticides
