The influence of instagramers on traditional roles changes through case studies of Feminista Ilustrada and Towanda Rebels

Trabajo de Fin de Máster del Máster en Estudios Interdisciplinares de Género, curso 2020-2021[ES] El presente Trabajo Fin de Máster tiene como objetivo fundamental el análisis del discurso feminista en la red social Instagram, así como el papel fundamental de las influencers feministas a la hora de promover el feminismo. Al comenzar este trabajo de investigación se consideró necesario conocer la historia del feminismo y las diferentes olas que lo componen, además de conocer a mujeres influyentes en las distintas etapas, hasta llegar a la actual, donde el feminismo ha crecido más que nunca, gracias en gran parte al uso de las redes sociales. Para cumplir con los objetivos y las hipótesis planteadas, se llevará a cabo metodología cualitativa. Se realizarán entrevistas a dos conocidas influencers feministas de nuestro país, como son @FeministaIlustrada y @TowandaRebels. Con estas entrevistas podremos analizar sus experiencias vividas en las redes sociales en referencia al acoso, a la violencia virtual recibida y a los estereotipos que pululan por Instagram.[EN] The main objective of this Master's thesis is to analyse the feminist discourse on the social network Instagram, as well as the fundamental role of feminist influencers in promoting feminism. At the beginning of this research work, it was considered necessary to know the history of feminism and the different waves that make it up, as well as to know influential women in the different stages, until reaching the current stage, where feminism has grown more than ever, thanks in large part to the use of social networks. In order to meet the objectives and hypotheses set out, qualitative methodology will be used. Interviews will be conducted with two well-known feminist influencers in our country, such as @FeministaIlustrada and @TowandaRebels. With these interviews we will be able to analyse their experiences on social networks in reference to harassment, virtual violence received and the stereotypes that swarm Instagram

A novel scheme of multicarrier modulation with the discrete cosine transform

In this work, we derive a novel multicarrier modulation based on the Type-I even discrete cosine transform (DCT1e), which includes new procedures to carry out both the channel estimation and the signal reconstruction. By using a small number of training symbols, we achieve an accurate estimation of the channel's impulse response (CIR) using a novel mirror, replicate and add (MIRA) procedure. The proposed scheme does not require knowing the length of the CIR and is valid even in the presence of spectral nones. We provide the theoretical results that guarantee the validity of the developed technique. After the estimation process, the transmitted symbols are also reconstructed by means of the DCT1e using the same novel MIRA scheme. The conditions that ensure a perfect reconstruction in the absence of noise are also provided in this case. Numerical simulations illustrate the excellent behaviour of the proposed approach, both in terms of channel estimation and recovery of the transmitted information.Ministerio de Economía y Competitivida

La metodología de implementación del Programa 5’S en Confecciones Gegara es la creación de medios para la ejecución del este programa, en busca de la satisfacción y motivación de los empleados. DCT Type-III for Multicarrier Modulation

In this paper we propose the use of Discrete Cosine Transform Type-III (DCT3) for multicarrier modulation. There are two DCT3 (even and odd) and, for each of them, we derive the expressions for both prefix and suffix to be appended into each data symbol to be transmitted. Moreover, DCT3 are closely related to the corresponding inverse DCT Type-II even and odd. Furthermore, we give explicit expressions for the 1-tap per subcarrier equalizers that must be implemented at the receiver to perform the channel equalization in the frequency-domain. As a result, the proposed DCT3-based multicarrier modulator can be used as an alternative to DFT-based systems to perform Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing or Discrete Multitone Modulatio

Medial deviation of the first metatarsal in incipient hallux valgus deformity

The intermetatarsal angle between metatarsals I and II (IMA 1-2) has been radiographicaly studied in 49 normal feet and in 49 feet with a mild hallux valgus (HV) deformity. The aim of the study is to know whether an excessive medial deviation of the first metatarsal with respect to II (IMA 1-2 over normal values reported by some authors) is present in the initial phase of HV. The results demonstrate that the difference in the mean intermetatarsal angle between the two groups is statistically significant (8.76º in normal feet; 9.98º in affected feet). However, the authors think it is not clinically significant. Other authors, comparing the IMA 1-2 in patients with more advanced HV and without HV, report greater differences than those obtained in this study,. The authors conclude that the excessive medial deviation of the first metatarsal is not a causal factor, but a consequence, in the HV deformity

Leptophlebiidae (Insecta: Ephemeroptera) from Gorgona Island National Natural Park (Tropical Eastern Pacific, Colombia) with the description of two new species

Gorgona National Natural Park comprises Gorgona and Gorgonilla Islands, located in the Colombian Pacific at 35 km from mainland. A large-scale study was conducted in Gorgona including samples from benthos and aereal nets and traps during five fieldworks. We here focus on the family Leptophlebiidae, describing two new species and giving data of four additional species. Terpides iguapoga sp. n. is described and illustrated from nymphs and adults, and can be characterized by the following characters, in the nymph: fore trochanter and femur with row of strong spine-like setae on inner margin, gills with blackish tracheae, posterolateral projections present on terga VI and VIII–IX; in the adult: upper portion of eyes orangeish white, forewing membrane hyaline tinged with yellowish around crossveins and marginal intercalary veins, genitalia with penes abruptly narrowing on distal third. Thraulodes insular sp. n. is described from nymphs and adults and diagnosed as follows, in the nymph: abdominal gills with narrow lamellae, femora with black streak near apex; in the imago: forewing costal area basal to bulla without crossveins, a spot and a band on femora, terga II–VI translucent white, terga VII–X darker, posterior margin of subgenital plate triangular, penes spines short and robust. We give new geographic records for four additional species: Farrodes caribbianus, Farrodes roundsi, Hagenulopsis esmeralda and Hagenulopsis zunigae. Ecological data and distributional maps are provided. Leptophlebiidae presents a reduced diversity in relation to mainland; in general the species recorded show a geographic relation to the Chocoan-Caribbean and Andean mayfly faunas.Fil: Zuñiga, Maria del Carmen. Performance de una turbina hidrocinética cónica a partir del potencial hidráulico de un canal de regadío

En la presente tesis se determinó la “Performance de una turbina hidrocinética tipo cónica aprovechando el potencial hidráulico de un canal de regadío de la Alameda el Cortijo Trujillo la Libertad” para generación de energía eléctrica, esto inicia previo a una investigación donde se determinó que el Perú es un país que cuenta con una de las extensiones de agua más grandes en América Latina, este recurso es aprovechado entre otras cosas para la generación de energía eléctrica. Sin embargo, existen algunas zonas denominadas “Zonas no Interconectadas (ZNI)”, donde el servicio eléctrico es escaso y en algunas ocasiones nulo. Algunas de estas zonas disponen de recursos hídricos, planteando como alternativa de solución la generación de energía eléctrica local por medio de una turbina hidrocinética cónica. Para la fabricación de dicho prototipo se parte de un diseño de turbinas hidrocinéticas clasificándoles según su rendimiento, desventajas y ventajas; esto se hace previó a la inspección de canales de regadío disponibles, se diseñó una turbina cónica para el prototipo según sus características, parámetros de rendimiento, dimensiones y potencia, con ayuda del programa SOLIDWORKS se hicieron los análisis correspondientes en el álabe y eje de la turbina de dicha manera se valida el comportamiento de la estructura; que sirvió como guía para los cálculos, siendo una investigación aplicada. Los instrumentos que se utilizaron en dicha investigación es la ficha de datos, se utilizaron equipos de medición que permitieron hacer un mejor levantamiento de datos aplicando la observación de esa manera presentar una alternativa de generación de energía eléctrica aprovechando el recurso hídrico de un canal de regadío enfocándose en el análisis fluodinámicos de la turbina cónica. Se determinado un rendimiento mayor a las otras turbinas hidrocinética por ser más liviana, fácil mantenimiento. El canal de pruebas tiene una altura de 80 cm, ancho de 1.20 m y una velocidad de agua de 2.37 m/s con estos datos se logra generar un voltaje de 168 Mv. Con esta investigación se quiere mejorar la cálida de vida de las personas que no cuentan con fluido eléctrico, también se estaría contribuyendo con el medio ambiente por ser una energía renovable

Leadership, management, quality, and innovation in organ donation: 2019 Kunming recommendations for One Belt & One Road countries

The findings and recommendations of the 2019 consensus conference in organ donation, held in Kunming, China, are here reported. The main objective of the conference was to gather relevant information from experts involved in the field. The data and opinions provided allowed to propose a series of recommendations for “One Belt & One Road Countries” on how to achieve self-sufficiency in organ donation. Leadership in organ donation should be results-oriented and goal-driven based on the principles of excellence, empowerment, and engagement, providing the means, resources, and strategies necessary to reach the goal in earnest. Management includes good governance and transparency of a national registry of patients in the waiting list, donors, transplants, transplant teams, quality, and safety programs with continuous educational training of health care professionals. Mandatory monitoring, auditing and evaluation of quality must be incorporated into donation practices as relevant points in innovation, as well as the adoption of already established and novel processes and technologies. Achievement of self-sufficiency in organ donation is a crucial step to fight against transplant tourism and to prevent organ trafficking. Based on recommendations arising from the conference, each country could review and develop individualized action plans adjusted to its own circumstances and reality

On the use of discrete cosine transforms for multicarrier communications

In this correspondence, the conditions to use any kind of discrete cosine transform (DCT) for multicarrier data transmission are derived. The symmetric convolution-multiplication property of each DCT implies that when symmetric convolution is performed in the time domain, an element-by-element multiplication is performed in the corresponding discrete trigonometric domain. Therefore, appending symmetric redun-dancy (as prefix and suffix) into each data symbol to be transmitted, and also enforcing symmetry for the equivalent channel impulse response, the linear convolution performed in the transmission channel becomes a symmetric convolution in those samples of interest. Furthermore, the channel equalization can be carried out by means of a bank of scalars in the corresponding discrete cosine transform domain. The expressions for obtaining the value of each scalar corresponding to these one-tap per subcarrier equalizers are presented. This study is completed with several computer simulations in mobile broadband wireless communication scenarios, considering the presence of carrier frequency offset (CFO). The obtained results indicate that the proposed systems outperform the standardized ones based on the DFT
