The physical corruption of the Bosphorus historic site

Bu çalışmada, Boğaziçi olgusu tarihsel perspektif içinde ele alınmış, Boğaziçi tarihi sit alanının fiziksel yok oluş süreci incelenmiştir. Kent ölçeğinde korumanın temeli, tarihsel kent dokularının fiziksel verilerinin, günümüz gereksinimleriyle bütünleştirilerek sürekliliğin sağlanmasıdır. Boğaziçi İstanbul’un Cumhuriyet Dönemi’nden günümüze kadar geçen sürede geçirdiği değişimden etkilenmiştir. Yerleşim alanlarının sınırlarının genişlemesi yanında bölgenin sosyo-kültürel yapısı da değişmiştir. 1970’lerden başlayarak Boğaziçi’nin korunmasına yönelik alınan kararlara rağmen, önüne geçilemeyen bir yasa dışı süreç yaşanmıştır. 1983 yılında çıkartılan Boğaziçi Yasasına rağmen alanın bozulma süreci devam etmiştir. Çalışmada, Boğaziçi’nin korunmasına yönelik bu yasal süreç yanında farklılaşan problemler içermeleri nedeniyle seçilen Büyükdere, Boyacıköy, Yalıköy ve Anadoluhisarı sit alanlarının mevcut korunmuşluk durumları incelenmiştir. Anahtar Kelimeler: Boğaziçi, kentsel koruma, boğaziçi yasası.In this study, the Bosphorus fact is examined in a historical perspective and the physical corruption of the Bosphorus historic site is analysed. Urban conservation is based on the integration of the historical patterns with the actual requirements of the city in the name of providing the continuity of the characteristics of site. The Bosphorus Area, beginning from the Republican Era up today, is affected by the rapid and unplanned urbanization in a negative manner. The period beginning from 1950’s up to1970’s can be considered as a turning point in the urbanization process. Besides the extension of settlement areas during this period, the socio-cultural profile of the area is also changed. Although the first steps for preserving the architectural heritage in the Bosphorus area were taken beginning from the 1970’s, an illegal urbanization process has also begun In 1983, the Bosphorus Law came into force as the first preservation law for the city. Although this law is expected to prevent the illegal urbanization process, the physical corruption of the Bosphorus historic site has continued up to today. Besides the legal process concerning the preservation of the Bosphorus, in this study examines each of the present preservation status of Büyükdere, Boyacıköy, Yalıköy and Anadoluhisarı, reflecting a number of various conservation problems are analysed as case study areas Keywords: The Bosphorus area, urban conservation, bosphorus law
