    As a device to exchange heat from hot fluid to colder fluid, a heat exchanger is supposed to have high effectiveness. Theoretically, the increase of fluid rate would increase the effectiveness. Yet, it makes the contact time among the fluids become shorter. Based on this phenomenon, a research is carried on to find out how the fluid rate affects the effectiveness of a Shell-and-Tube Heat Exchanger. The working fluid used is air. It is found out that the effectiveness would up to a certain value if the fluid rate increases and then it would decrease. Keywords: effectiveness, shell-and-tube heat exchanger

    PPL dalam pengertiannya Praktik Pengalaman Lapangan merupakan mata kuliah yang wajid ditempuh oleh setiap mahasiswa di semua jurusan pendidikan di Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk membekali mahasiswa agar memiliki kemampuan berupa ketrampilan dalam bidang pembelajaran dan manajerial sekolah atau lembaga, dalam rangka melatih dan mengembangkan kompetensi keguruan atau kependidikan. Tujuan lain penulis melaksanakan PPL di SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Klaten Utara adalah memberi kesempatan pada penulis untuk mempelajari, mengenal dan menghayati permasalahan yang dihadapi lembaga pendidikan, menerapkan ilmu pengetahuan dan keterampilan yang dimiliki ke dalam kehidupan nyata. Mahasiswa juga dapat belajar dari lembaga sekolah sekaligus dapat menyumbangkan pemikiran dan tenaga guna pengembangan lembaga pendidikan yang bersangkutan. Kegiatan PPL terbagi dalam beberapa tahapan yaitu persiapan mengajar dan pelaksanaan mengajar. Tahap persiapan dimulai dari observasi yang dilaksanakan pada tanggal 28 Februari 2015. Selanjutnya mahasiswa menempuh mata kuliah micro teaching yang merupakan mata kuliah untuk melatih mahasiswa dalam mengajar. Sebelum mengajar, mahasiswa juga harus mempersiapkan Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP) dan media pembelajaran. Pelaksanaan kegiatan PPL dimulai tanggal 10 Agustus 2015 sampai 12 September 2015. Dalam praktik mengajar, praktikan diberi kesempatan untuk mengajar di kelas XI dengan jumlah mengajar sebanyak 5 kali pertemuan setiap kelas. Dalam pelaksanaannya, praktikan juga mengalami kendala, diantaranya adalah peserta didik yang masih tidak mentaati aturan yang telah disepakati dan kurang konsentrasi dalam mengikuti pelajaran. Tetapi kendala tersebut dapat diatasi dengan cara memberikan ketegasan dan sanksi yang mendidik kepada peserta didik, kemudian dengan cara memberikan perhatian khusus kepada siswa tersebut. Praktikan juga senantiasa konsultasi dengan guru pembimbing untuk mendapatkan hasil yang sebaik-baiknya. Dari pelaksanaan kegiatan PPL dapat disimpulkan, bahwa kegiatan ini dapat memberikan pengalaman kepada mahasiswa dalam pengembangan kompetensi di bidang pendidikan, memberikan kesempatan kepada mahasiswa untuk belajar dan mengenal segala permasalahan di sekolah yang terkait dengan proses pembelajaran, memberikan kesempatan kepada mahasiswa untuk menerapkan ilmu, pengetahuan, dan ketrampilan yang telah dipelajari dalam kehidupan nyata di sekolah, serta dapat meningkatkan hubungan kemitraan yang baik antara UNY dengan sekolah yang terkait. Setelah melaksanakan praktik mengajar, maka didapatkan hasil bahwa siswa SMP Negeri 3 Depok rata-rata mempunyai kesungguhan belajar yang tinggi.     Background: Disability intellectual (DI) caused by several factors. Parents are highly plays an important. The knowledge parents about a disability intellectual influenced by several factors, that is age, sex, education level, level of income, exposure to get information, consultation to doctor, and socio-cultural. Methods: The research is analytic observational with design cross sectional, samples all parents patients. Research in SLB-C Widya Bhakti Semarang, purpose to know anything influences the level of knowledge parents about intellectual disability cause. Total sampel is 50. The tested data using chi square. Results: The level knowledge to DI in Semarang is good (48 %). The consultation to the doctor ( p = 0,056 ) having influence on the knowledge parents about a genetic disorder caused disability intellectual. While the age ( p = 0,144 ), the level of education ( p = 0,575 ), income levels ( p = 0,976 ), exposure to information ( p = 0,266 ), and social-culture the religion ( p=0, 606 ) and jobs ( p = 0,379 ) no have influence. The conclusion: The consultation to doctor having influence on the knowledge parents about abnormality a genetic disorder caused disability intellectual. While the age, levels of education, level level income and exposure information have no influence meaningful on the knowledge parents about a genetic disorder cause disability intellectual.     Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya minat, motivasi, dan kemampuan siswa kelas VIII B SMP Swadaya 2 Bandung dalam menulis kreatif naskah drama. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, peneliti kemudian berupaya untuk meningkatkan kemampuan siswa kelas VIII B SMP Swadaya 2 Bandung, dalam menulis kreatif naskah drama melalui metode Student Teams-Achievement Division (STAD). Tujuan penelitian ini, yaitu untuk mengetahui perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan hasil pembelajaran menulis kreatif naskah drama siswa melalui metode Student Teams-Achievement Division (STAD). Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK), yang dilakukan dalam III siklus. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan, yaitu berupa wawancara, angket, lembar pengamatan (observasi), catatanlapangan, jurnalsiswa, dantesmenulis. Berdasarkan hasilpenelitian, diketahui nilai rata-rata siswa pada siklus I adalah 63,1. Nilai tersebut mengalami peningkatan pada siklus II menjadi 77,4 dan kembali mengalami peningkatan padasiklus III menjadi 78. Dengandemikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan metode Student Teams-Achievement Division (STAD) dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis kreatif naskah drama siswa. Dari penelitian ini juga diketahui bahwa metode Student Teams-Achievement Division (STAD) mampu mengubah perilaku belajar siswa menjadi lebih baik dari sebelumnya. Siswa lebih antusias dalam mengikuti kegiatan pembelajaran, siswa aktif bertanya jawab dengan guru, siswamampubersosialisasidanmenjalinkomunikasi yang baikdalamkegiatantim, siswa aktif berdiskusi dalam tim belajar untuk memecahkan suatu permasalahan, siswa tidak malu bertanya ketika mengalami kesulitan, siswa lebih bersungguh-sungguhdalammenulisnaskah drama, siswa lebih bertanggung jawab terhadap dirinya sendiri dan teman-teman dalam tim belajarnya.;--- This research is grounded by VIII B student’s at Swadaya 2 Junior High School Bandung, lack of interest, motivation, and capability of writing drama creative script.     Nowadays, most people throughout the world learn English because English has an important role in economics, politics, and other aspects, especially for facing free trade in the ASEAN Economic Community (MEA). However, Teaching English as second language becomes more challenging to teach, particularly for young learners. In this case, Information and communication technologies (ICTs) has a pivotal role in assisting teachers in teaching and learning English and for helping students to learn English easier. Numerous scholars, educators and teachers believe that ICT has positive effects in teaching and learning English. Through ICT by incorporating local cultures and values, gender equality, and the others, it will make the activities in classroom to be more interactive and interesting. Language, cultures and IT should be embedded and incorporated. Teachers can encourage children’s motivation and improve their English abilities through ICTs. This reviews some theories of using ICTs by integrating the diversity of cultures and values either local or national and international cultures and values in the teaching and learning process.     Women become a symbol of who often gets injustice and violence because she was born as female. Literary works are one of the media stories about many things in life including women's lives. Novel Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk by Ahmad Tohari as a research source. The purposes of this study are to identify forms of gender inequality in the Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk novel and analyze the factors that influence on it. The research method used is a qualitative method. The data analysis technique in this study is heuristic and hermeneutic reading. The results showed that forms of gender inequality were found in RDP novels such as sexual violence, female exploitation, and defense of the capitalist system. Sexual violence occurs because there is a system of power and control, Srintil, as a child exploited by the Kertaraja family as adults. The exploitation of women is also lasting because there are elements of kinship or close family relations between those who control and are controlled. Finally, the capitalist system that continues to run in the community, Srintil bought and sold its "virginity" to get gold. The three factors are a crucial part of gender inequality in the novel Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk (RDP) by Ahmad Tohari

    This study is concerned with Information Communication and Technologies (ICTs) and Group Discussion (GD) that become one of the most effective solutions to the problem. Universitas Bumigora has numerous students in one class in which each class consists of approximately 50-60 students. The aims of this study are to identify students’ perspectives on GD and ICTs and to compare men's and women’s perspectives on GD and ICTs in large classes. This study was conducted in two big classes. The instrument in this research was a questionnaire. The questionnaire was used to get information about the students’ responses to the application of FGD and ICTs in teaching and learning English and to identify the differences responses between man and women group. The data obtained were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. This study was conducted in two big classes. The instrument in this research was a questionnaire.     PENINGKATAN PRESTASI BELAJAR ILMU PENGETAHUAN SOSIAL DENGAN MODEL COOPERATIVE LEARNING DI SD N 4 WONOHARJO KECAMATAN KEMUSU KABUPATEN BOYOLALI TAHUN 2010

    Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan prestasi belajar Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial di SD N 4 Wonoharjo Kecamatan Kemusu Kabupaten Boyolali melalui penerapan model pembelajaran cooperative learning. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian tindakan kelas dalam 2 (dua) siklus. Tiap siklus terdiri dari 4 tahapan yaitu : (1) tahap perencanaan, (2) tahap pelaksanaan tindakan, (3) tahap pengamatan, (4) tahap refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah semua siswa kelas VI SD N 4 Wonoharjo tahun 2009/2010 sebanyak 24 siswa, yang teridiri dari 10 siswa laki-laki dan 14 siswa perempuan. Tehnik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dengan wawancara, observasi langsung, tes dan dokumentasi. Analisis data yang digunakan dengan analisis diskriptif interaktif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan pembelajaran dengan model cooperative learning dapat meningkatkan prestasi belajar Ilmu Pengatahuan Sosial pada Standar Kompetensi memahami perkembangan wilayah Indonesia, kenampakan alam dan keadaan sosial negara-negara di Asia Tenggara serta benua-benua siswa kelas VI SD N 4 Wonoharjo tahun 2010, yaitu siklus I siswa yang mendapatkan nilai di atas KKM adalah 22 siswa atau 91,7% dengan nilai rata-rata 69,3, pada siklus II siswa yang tuntas (sesuai atau di atas KKM) adalah sebanyak 24 siswa atau 100%. Selanjutnya SD yang prestasi belajar Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosialnya rendah, diharapkan penelitian ini dapat digunakan sebagai referensi
