Inclusive spectra in the upsilon energy region and a study of quark-jet versus gluon-jet fragmentation
A study of particle yields from and \chi\sbsp{b}{\prime} states has been performed using the CLEO II detector operating at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring (CESR). The \chi\sbsp{b}{\prime} states are tagged by their associated photon lines from decay of the (3S). Produced particle species are identified using specific ionization, time-of-flight measurements, and vertex reconstruction. The momentum spectra of \pi\sp\pm, K\sp\pm, p, p, K\sbsp{\rm s}{0}, \pi\sp0, \Lambda\sp0, \phi\sp0, D\sp0, \rho\sp0, K\sp{*0}, and e\sp\pm produced from \chi\sbsp{b}{\prime} decay are measured, and comparisons are made to spectra obtained at the 1S), 3S), 4S), and nearby continuum center-of-mass energy regions. The decays of \chi\sbsp{b}{\prime} with are found to exhibit properties most similar to those observed in continuum qq decays, while the properties of the \chi\sbsp{b}{\prime} with and 2 are most like the ggg decays of the (1S) state. Fragmentation functions are measured and quantitative and qualitative comparisons are made between the hadronization of quarks and that of gluons. A suggestion is given for a purely empirical treatment of the fragmentation of quark-jets versus gluon-jets
Branching fraction and CP asymmetries of B0âKS0KS0KS0
We present measurements of the branching fraction and time-dependent CP-violating asymmetries in B0âK0SK0SK0S decays based on 227Ă106 ΄(4S)âBB decays collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B factory at SLAC. We obtain a branching fraction of (6.9+0.9â0.8±0.6)Ă10â6, and CP asymmetries C=â0.34+0.28â0.25±0.05 and S=â0.71+0.38â0.32±0.04, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic
Measurement of D+(s) and D*+(s) production in B meson decays and from continuum e+ e- annihilations at s**(1/2) = 10.6-GeV.

Improved measurement of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa angle α using B0(B)âp+p- decays
We present results from an analysis of B0(BÂŻÂŻÂŻ0)âÏ+Ïâ using 232Ă106 ΄(4S)âBBÂŻÂŻÂŻ decays collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B factory at SLAC. We measure the longitudinal polarization fraction fL=0.978±0.014(stat)+0.021â0.029(syst) and the CP-violating parameters SL=â0.33±0.24(stat)+0.08â0.14(syst) and CL=â0.03±0.18(stat)±0.09(syst). Using an isospin analysis of BâÏÏ decays, we determine the unitarity triangle parameter α. The solution compatible with the standard model is α=(100±13)°

decays collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B factory at SLAC. We measure the longitudinal polarization fraction fL=0.978±0.014(stat)+0.021/-0.029(syst) and the CP-violating parameters SL=-0.33±0.24(stat)+0.08/-0.14(syst) and CL=-0.03±0.18(stat)±0.09(syst). Using an isospin analysis of BâÏÏ decays, we determine the unitarity triangle parameter α. The solution compatible with the standard model is α=(100±13)°
International Linear Collider Reference Design Report Volume 2: PHYSICS AT THE ILC
This article reviews the physics case for the ILC. Baseline running at 500 GeV as well as possible upgrades and options are discussed. The opportunities on Standard Model physics, Higgs physics, Supersymmetry and alternative theories beyond the Standard Model are described. This article reviews the physics case for the ILC. Measurement of the CP violating asymmetry amplitude sin 2beta
We present results on time-dependent CP-violating asymmetries in neutral B
decays to several CP eigenstates. The measurements use a data sample of about
88 million Y(4S) --> B Bbar decays collected between 1999 and 2002 with the
BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B Factory at SLAC. We study
events in which one neutral B meson is fully reconstructed in a final state
containing a charmonium meson and the other B meson is determined to be either
a B0 or B0bar from its decay products. The amplitude of the CP-violating
asymmetry, which in the Standard Model is proportional to sin2beta, is derived
from the decay-time distributions in such events. We measure sin2beta = 0.741
+/- 0.067 (stat) +/- 0.034 (syst) and |lambda| = 0.948 +/- 0.051 (stat) +/-
0.030 (syst). The magnitude of lambda is consistent with unity, in agreement
with the Standard Model expectation of no direct CP violation in these modes.Comment: 7 pages, 2 postscript figures, submitted to PR
Measurement of D-s(+) and D-s(*+) production in B meson decays and from continuum e(+)e(-) annihilation at root s=10.6 GeV
New measurements of D-s(+) and D-s(*+) meson production rates from B decays and from q(q) over bar continuum events near the Y(4S) resonance are presented. Using 20.8 fb(-1) of data on the Y(4S) resonance and 2.6 fb(-1) off-resonance, we find the inclusive branching fractions B(B-->Ds+X) = (10.93+/-0.19+/-0.58+/-2.73)% and B(B-->Ds*+X) = (7.9+/-0.8+/-0.7+/-2.0)%, where the first error is statistical, the second is systematic, and the third is due to the D-s(+)-->phipi(+) branching fraction uncertainty. The production cross sections sigma(e(+)e(-)-->Ds+X)xB(D-s(+)-->phipi(+)) = 7.55+/-0.20+/-0.34 pb and sigma(e(+)e(-)-->Ds*+/-X)xB(D-s(+)-->phipi(+)) = 5.8+/-0.7+/-0.5 pb are measured at center-of-mass energies about 40 MeV below the Y(4S) mass. The branching fractions SigmaB(B-->D-s((*)+)(D) over bar ((*))) = (5.07+/-0.14+/-0.30+/-1.27)% and SigmaB(B-->D-s(*+)(D) over bar ((*))) = (4.1+/-0.2+/-0.4+/-1.0)% are determined from the D-s((*)+) momentum spectra. The mass difference m(D-s(+)) -m(D+) = 98.4+/-0.1+/-0.3 MeV/c(2) is also measured
