La Educación y el Trabajo Social un Camino Hacia la Construcción de Ciudadanía

 Education is a scenario of multiple social transformations and therefore is not inherent to the conflicts that are generated within the academic community is where social work intervenes, generating mechanisms to contribute to the improvement of these situations. Taking into account the above, this research focuses on identifying the main social problems that occur inside and outside the classroom of high school students of public institutions in the city of Cartagena, in order to establish strategies to provide alternatives to social conflicts. Hence, the importance of analyzing the role of the guidance teacher in the classroom, as an actor that should promote the construction of citizenship and the development of a culture of peace within the classroom. The nature of this research was qualitative, with an action research design. For the development of this research, five educational institutions of the official sector participated, in which several workshops were developed with teachers, directors and students.  This research allowed to identify the importance of offering a comprehensive education, which in addition to focusing on academic aspects, provides the student with tools and inputs to be a citizen who recognizes and fulfills his rights and duties. It also recognized the role of the guidance teacher in the social development of students and the influence they have on the lives of their students.La educación es un escenario de múltiples transformaciones sociales y, por tanto, inherente a los conflictos que se generan al interior de la comunidad académica. Es allí interviene el Trabajo Social, generando mecanismos que permitan contribuir a la mejora de esas situaciones. Teniendo en cuenta lo anterior, esta investigación se centra en identificar las principales problemáticas sociales que se presentan dentro y fuera del aula de clase de estudiantes de bachillerato adscritos a instituciones públicas de la ciudad de Cartagena, con la finalidad de establecer estrategias para brindar alternativas a los conflictos sociales.  De allí, la importancia de analizar el rol del docente orientador dentro del aula, como un actor que debería promover la construcción de ciudadanía y el desarrollo de una cultura de paz dentro del salón de clases.  El carácter de esta investigación es cualitativo, con un diseño de investigación-acción. Para el desarrollo de esta investigación, participaron cinco instituciones educativas del sector oficial, en las cuales se desarrollaron diversos talleres con estudiantes, docentes y directivos. Esta investigación permitió identificar la importancia de ofrecer una educación integral, que además de centrarse en aspectos académicos, se le brinde al estudiante herramientas e insumos para ser un ciudadano que reconozca y cumpla sus derechos y deberes. Asimismo, reconocer el rol del docente orientador en el desarrollo social de los estudiantes y la influencia que estos tienen en la vida de sus alumnos

Multidisciplinary studies on a sick-leader syndrome-associated mass stranding of sperm whales (Physeter macrocephalus) along the Adriatic coast of Italy

Mass strandings of sperm whales (Physeter macrocephalus) are rare in the Mediterranean Sea. Nevertheless, in 2014 a pod of 7 specimens stranded alive along the Italian coast of the Central Adriatic Sea: 3 individuals died on the beach after a few hours due to internal damages induced by prolonged recumbency; the remaining 4 whales were refloated after great efforts. All the dead animals were genetically related females; one was pregnant. All the animals were infected by dolphin morbillivirus (DMV) and the pregnant whale was also affected by a severe nephropathy due to a large kidney stone. Other analyses ruled out other possible relevant factors related to weather conditions or human activities. The results of multidisciplinary post-mortem analyses revealed that the 7 sperm whales entered the Adriatic Sea encountering adverse weather conditions and then kept heading northward following the pregnant but sick leader of the pod, thereby reaching the stranding site. DMV infection most likely played a crucial role in impairing the health condition and orientation abilities of the whales. They did not steer back towards deeper waters, but eventually stranded along the Central Adriatic Sea coastline, a real trap for sperm whales

High feasibility and antileukemic efficacy of fludarabine, cytarabine, and idarubicin (FLAI) induction followed by risk-oriented consolidation: A critical review of a 10-year, single-center experience in younger, non M3 AML patients

About 105 consecutive acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patients treated with the same induction-consolidation program between 2004 and 2013 were retrospectively analyzed. Median age was 47 years. The first induction course included fludarabine (Flu) and high-dose cytarabine (Ara-C) plus idarubicin (Ida), with or without gemtuzumab-ozogamicin (GO) 3 mg/m2 (FLAI-5). Patients achieving complete remission (CR) received a second course without fludarabine but with higher dose of idarubicin. Patients not achieving CR received an intensified second course. Patients not scheduled for early allogeneic bone marrow transplantation (HSCT) where planned to receive at least two courses of consolidation therapy with Ara-C. Our double induction strategy significantly differs from described fludarabine-containing regimens, as patients achieving CR receive a second course without fludarabine, to avoid excess toxicity, and Ara-C consolidation is administrated at the reduced cumulative dose of 8 g/m2 per cycle. Toxicity is a major concern in fludarabine containing induction, including the recent Medical Research Council AML15 fludarabine, cytarabine, idaraubicin and G-CSF (FLAG-Ida) arm, and, despite higher anti-leukemic efficacy, only a minority of patients is able to complete the full planned program. In this article, we show that our therapeutic program is generally well tolerated, as most patients were able to receive subsequent therapy at full dose and in a timely manner, with a 30-day mortality of 4.8%. The omission of fludarabine in the second course did not reduce efficacy, as a CR rate of 83% was achieved and 3-year disease-free survival and overall survival (OS) were 49.6% and 50.9%, respectively. Our experience shows that FLAI-5/Ara-C + Ida double induction followed by risk-oriented consolidation therapy can result in good overall outcome with acceptable toxicity. Am. J. Propuesta de mejoramiento del clima organizacional para el departamento de ventas en la empresa calzado Bucaramanga sede mercado de Bazurto en la ciudad de Cartagena para el segundo semestre del 2021

La presente investigación fue desarrollada por un grupo de estudiantes de la Escuela de Ciencias, Administrativas, Contables, Económicas y de Negocios del programa de Administración de Empresas de la UNAD, apoyados en los marcos legales, conceptuales y metodológicos para plantear una propuesta de mejoramiento del clima organizacional para el departamento de ventas en la empresa Calzado Bucaramanga sede mercado de Bazurto en la ciudad de Cartagena, a partir de una encuesta, entrevista y observación, herramientas que son del tipo cualitativo y descriptivo . Dicha investigación se aplicó el modelo del instrumento para la medición del clima en organizaciones colombianas (IMCOC), el resultado indico un clima no favorable en el cual la dimensión de las relaciones interpersonales y motivación se destacaron más, seguido de las otras dimensiones donde se mostraron resultados de un mal clima organizacional para la empresa, también se hace un planteamiento de mejoramiento.This research was developed by a group of students from the School of Sciences, Administrative, Accounting, Economics and Business of the Business Administration program of the UNAD, supported by the legal, conceptual and methodological frameworks to propose an improval of the organizational climate for the sales department in the company Calzado Bucaramanga, Bazurto market headquarters in the city of Cartagena, based on a survey, interview and observation, tools that are qualitative and descriptive. Said research was applied to the model of the instrument for measuring the climate in Colombian organizations (IMCOC), the result indicated an unfavorable climate in which the dimension of interpersonal relationships and motivation stood out more, followed by the other dimensions where they were shown results of a bad organizational climate for the company, an improvement approach is also made for each result
