Cruise tourism, which is evaluated within marine tourism, has significant environmental, economic, and socio-cultural impacts on visited ports. Cruise tourism is an activity that provides economic income to the harbors and creates new jobs. The cruise tourism has an increasing demand in the recent years because cruise ship visitors both have an opportunity to see many countries and cities in a short time and have a vacation on a luxury ship, which has a comfort standard like a holiday village. With her historical, cultural and natural attractions, Turkey is located in very strategic and convenient point and also Turkey is so close to destinations that cruise ships prefer to visit in the Mediterranean Basin. In 2014, approximately 22 million tourist travelled with cruise ships in the World and 1.8 million cruise passengers came to Turkey. The aim of this study is evaluate the development of cruise tourism in Turkey in terms of port operations. In previous studies it has focused on the development of cruise tourism but has not been evaluated in terms of port operations perspective. Semi-structured interview technique was used in the study and interviewed with General Manager of Antalya Global Ports Holding, which is one of Turkey’s most important port operations. Turkey and in the World cruise tourism is compared and has been reached important information about the development of cruise tourism

Objectives The aim of this study is to investigate the efficacy of locally applied insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) on the recovery of facial nerve functions after crush injury in a rabbit model. Methods The rabbits were randomly assigned into three groups. Group 1 consisted of the rabbits with crush injury alone; group 2, the animals applied saline solution onto the crushed facial nerve and group 3, IGF-1 implemented to the nerve in the same manner. Facial nerve injury was first electrophysiologically studied on 10th and 42nd days of the procedure. The damage to the facial nerves was then investigated histopathologically, after sacrification of the animals. Results In the electrophysiological study, compound muscle action potential amplitudes of the crushed nerves in the second group were decreased. In pathological specimens of the first and second groups, the orders of axons were distorted; demyelination and proliferation of Schwann cells were observed. However, in IGF-1 treated group axonal order and myelin were preserved, and Schwann cell proliferation was close to normal (P<0.05). Conclusion Local application of IGF-1 in a slow releasing gel was found efficacious in the recovery of the facial nerve crush injury in rabbits. IGF-1 was considered worthy of being tried in clinical studies in facial nerve injury cases

IntroductionElevated transaminases and/or creatine phosphokinase can indicate underlying muscle disease. Therefore, this study aims to determine the frequency of Duchenne muscular dystrophy/Becker muscular dystrophy (DMD/BMD) in male children and Pompe disease (PD) in male and female children with isolated hypertransaminasemia.MethodsThis multi-center, prospective study enrolled patients aged 3–216 months with serum alanine transaminase (ALT) and/or aspartate transaminase (AST) levels >2× the upper limit of normal (ULN) for ≥3 months. Patients with a known history of liver or muscle disease or physical examination findings suggestive of liver disease were excluded. Patients were screened for creatinine phosphokinase (CPK) levels, and molecular genetic tests for DMD/BMD in male patients and enzyme analysis for PD in male and female patients with elevated CPK levels were performed. Genetic analyses confirmed PD. Demographic, clinical, and laboratory characteristics of the patients were analyzed.ResultsOverall, 589 patients [66.8% male, mean age of 63.4 months (standard deviation: 60.5)] were included. In total, 251 patients (188 male and 63 female) had CPK levels above the ULN. Of the patients assessed, 47% (85/182) of male patients were diagnosed with DMD/BMD and 1% (3/228) of male and female patients were diagnosed with PD. The median ALT, AST, and CPK levels were statistically significantly higher, and the questioned neurological symptoms and previously unnoticed examination findings were more common in DMD/BMD patients than those without DMD/BMD or PD (p < 0.001).DiscussionQuestioning neurological symptoms, conducting a complete physical examination, and testing for CPK levels in patients with isolated hypertransaminasemia will prevent costly and time-consuming investigations for liver diseases and will lead to the diagnosis of occult neuromuscular diseases. Earthquake is located at the beginning of the disaster deeply affecting human life. The first issue of settled life in the community Anatolia stone is manufactured using adobe and wood. With the collapse of these structures during earthquakes these materials was replaced entirely of wood. Wood material has had an important place in housing production for many years. After the August 17, 1999 earthquake in puddles many concrete structures has been the response to the collapse of one of the first thoughts go back to the wooden structure. However, the design of the wooden structure, topics such as construction and seismic behavior of the last 20 - 30 years are quite a few places in civil engineering education. The aesthetic and cultural heritage of traditional wooden buildings, one of the important elements of life despite all the time to continue to survive and exhibit their full yıkılmayıp stance based on the disaster requires a scientific point of view and respect them. Basic principles observed when the wood, steel or concrete which has been seen that each earthquake resistant structure as possible. Situated as an important issue in the construction project course in architectural education in Turkey scale wooden structures can not take place in urban life. Produced by new technology and wooden structures that are used by many developed countries in the world, although there are many applications in the traditional system in our past is so recognized in the Turkish construction industry. In this study, the world ‘has long been applied in Turkey and introduced a new, wooden structures on the subject, have attempted to explain the applicability and earthquake response in Turkey. In this study, prepared on the basis of literature, earthquake and examined their effect on traditional structures, performances of traditional Turkish wooden structures against earthquakes is presented, supported by the current instance. Classification of traditional wooden building stock in our country, to examine the structural properties of the wood structure is one of the objectives of this study. In addition, the material properties of the wood should be of and pay attention to what will be described as articles architectural design against earthquakes. As a result, it would be important ethical architecture of this paper is considered
