    Utilizando los pilares del Pensamiento Computacional durante la vuelta a las clases presenciales: Reporte de experiencia desde Educación Primaria

    Este artículo presenta los resultados de la aplicación de una yincana realizada en dos etapas con miras a la adaptación escolar a la llamada 'nueva normalidad' tras el regreso a la escuela de los alumnos de Educación Primaria de manera presencial. El objetivo del estudio fue: (1) identificar posibles déficits en contenidos matemáticos después de la suspensión de las clases presenciales durante 2 años debido a la pandemia del COVID-19; y (2) mapear aspectos emocionales en relación con la motivación de los estudiantes y su reconexión con la escuela. La metodología utilizada se caracteriza por un enfoque mixto cualitativo-cuantitativo. Los resultados mostraron que los estudiantes alcanzaron un promedio de 85% de respuestas correctas en preguntas de matemáticas. Además, todos los alumnos se sintieran reconectados con la escuela durante la celebración de la yincana. Finalmente, en cuanto a la motivación y el entusiasmo con el regreso a clases se obtuvieron datos preocupantes: el 14% de la muestra mostró sentirse desanimado y desmotivado y el 22% se mostró indiferente. Otros datos derivados del estudio señalan que el alumnado extrañaba a sus amigos, espacio para jugar, organización y espacios adecuados para el estudio, así como motivación para el estudio y las tareas, falta de apoyo familiar y falta de diálogo con los maestros.Junta de Andalucía P20_0064

    MLEA: a solution for users of android in UTP Virtual

    This paper describes a design of an educational platform for a mobile learning architecture, which is a state of the art topic in distance education. The product will allow users to interact in an efficient, flexible, and transparent fashion with a web-based education environment, in this case Module Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment (Moodle), using Android mobile devices. In order to provide a strong and lasting architecture, the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) methodology is used given that it allows easy software re-utilization as well as integration of heterogeneous services. The architecture is based on web services implemented with Representational State Transfer (REST), as it has been demonstrated to be lighter and less consuming than other protocols, for devices with limited resources such as mobile devices. Web services provide the communication means between the server side and the client side of the architecture, whereas agents are used to deliver the services itself. The authors propose the development of an environment that facilitates the integration of various educational resources to support m-learning.     The Antinociceptive and Anti-Inflammatory Activities of Caulerpin, a Bisindole Alkaloid Isolated from Seaweeds of the Genus Caulerpa

    The antinociceptive and anti-inflammatory activity of caulerpin was investigated. This bisindole alkaloid was isolated from the lipoid extract of Caulerpa racemosa and its structure was identified by spectroscopic methods, including IR and NMR techniques. The pharmacological assays used were the writhing and the hot plate tests, the formalin-induced pain, the capsaicin-induced ear edema and the carrageenan-induced peritonitis. Caulerpin was given orally at a concentration of 100 μmol/kg. In the abdominal constriction test caulerpin showed reduction in the acetic acid-induced nociception at 0.0945 μmol (0.0103–1.0984) and for dypirone it was 0.0426 μmol (0.0092–0.1972). In the hot plate test in vivo the inhibition of nociception by caulerpin (100 μmol/kg, p.o.) was also favorable. This result suggests that this compound exhibits a central activity, without changing the motor activity (seen in the rotarod test). Caulerpin (100 μmol/kg, p.o.) reduced the formalin effects in both phases by 35.4% and 45.6%, respectively. The possible anti-inflammatory activity observed in the second phase in the formalin test of caulerpin (100 μmol/kg, p.o.) was confirmed on the capsaicin-induced ear edema model, where an inhibition of 55.8% was presented. Indeed, it was also observed in the carrageenan-induced peritonitis that caulerpin (100 μmol/kg, p.o.) exhibited anti-inflammatory activity, reducing significantly the number of recruit cells by 48.3%. Pharmacological studies are continuing in order to characterize the mechanism(s) responsible for the antinociceptive and anti-inflammatory actions and also to identify other active principles present in Caulerpa racemosa

    Mind the (treatment) gap: a global perspective on current and future strategies for prevention of fragility fractures

    This narrative review considers the key challenges facing healthcare professionals and policymakers responsible for providing care to populations in relation to bone health. These challenges broadly fall into four distinct themes: (1) case finding and management of individuals at high risk of fracture, (2) public awareness of osteoporosis and fragility fractures, (3) reimbursement and health system policy and (4) epidemiology of fracture in the developing world. Findings from cohort studies, randomised controlled trials, systematic reviews and meta-analyses, in addition to current clinical guidelines, position papers and national and international audits, are summarised, with the intention of providing a prioritised approach to delivery of optimal bone health for all. Systematic approaches to case-finding individuals who are at high risk of sustaining fragility fractures are described. These include strategies and models of care intended to improve case finding for individuals who have sustained fragility fractures, those undergoing treatment with medicines which have an adverse effect on bone health and people who have diseases, whereby bone loss and, consequently, fragility fractures are a common comorbidity. Approaches to deliver primary fracture prevention in a clinically effective and cost-effective manner are also explored. Public awareness of osteoporosis is low worldwide. If older people are to be more pro-active in the management of their bone health, that needs to change. Effective disease awareness campaigns have been implemented in some countries but need to be undertaken in many more. A major need exists to improve awareness of the risk that osteoporosis poses to individuals who have initiated treatment, with the intention of improving adherence in the long term. A multisector effort is also required to support patients and their clinicians to have meaningful discussions concerning the risk-benefit ratio of osteoporosis treatment. With regard to prioritisation of fragility fracture prevention in national policy, there is much to be done. In the developing world, robust epidemiological estimates of fracture incidence are required to inform policy development.     Applicability of DICOM structured reporting for the standardized exchange of implantation plans

    PURPOSE: Today's operating room is equipped with different devices supporting the surgeon. Due to the lack of common interfaces between devices, an integrated support of the surgical workflow is missing. In the field of implantation, a smooth exchange of preoperatively planned data between devices is of great interest. Additionally, the availability of standardized preoperative data would facilitate the documentation, especially with regard to Electronic Health Records. METHODS: To analyze whether DICOM Structured Reporting can be the basis for a standardized digital human- and machine-readable implantation plan, we derived all requirements for such a document. Therefore, we examined the conventional implantation plan and future applications of the digital plan. RESULTS: In this paper, we propose to use the mechanisms introduced by DICOM Structured Reporting as storage and communication infrastructure for implantation plans in the surgical domain. DICOM Structured Reporting complies with all requirements of our analysis. Additionally, we introduce a first draft of a standardized implantation plan structure. CONCLUSIONS: A standardized digital implantation plan based on the DICOM Structured Report has the potential to overcome current integration problems in the OR and to facilitate new applications

    Recently, the digital imaging and communications in medicine (DICOM) standard introduced rules for the encoding, transmission, and storage of the imaging diagnostic report. This medical document can be stored and communicated with the images in picture archiving and communication system (PACS). It is a structured document that contains text with links to other data such as images, waveforms, and spatial or temporal coordinates. Its structure, along with its wide use of coded information, enables the semantic understanding of the data that is essential for the Electronic Healthcare Record deployment. In this article, we present DICOM Structured Report (SR) and discuss its benefits. We show how SR enables efficient radiology workflow, improves patient care, optimizes reimbursement, and enhances the radiology ergonomic working conditions.
