Optimal -beam at the CERN-SPS
A -beam with maximum (for \helio ions) or
(for \neon) could be achieved at the CERN-SPS. We study the sensitivity to
and of such a beam as function of , optimizing
with the baseline constrained to CERN-Frejus (130 km), and also with
simultaneous variation of the baseline. These results are compared to the {\it
standard} scenario previously considered, with lower , and also
with a higher option that requires a more powerful
accelerator. Although higher is better, loss of sensitivity to and is most pronounced for below 100.Comment: 22 page
Clone flow analysis for a theory inspired Neutrino Experiment planning
The presence of several clone solutions in the simultaneous measurement of
() has been widely discussed in literature. In this letter
we write the analytical formulae of the clones location in the
() plane as a function of the physical input pair
(). We show how the clones move with changing
. The "clone flow" can be significantly different if computed
(naively) from the oscillation probabilities or (exactly) from the
probabilities integrated over the neutrino flux and cross-section.
Using our complete computation we compare the clone flow of a set of possible
future neutrino experiments: the CERN SuperBeam, BetaBeam and Neutrino Factory
proposals. We show that the combination of these specific BetaBeam and
SuperBeam does not help in solving the degeneracies. On the contrary, the
combination of one of them with the Neutrino Factory Golden and Silver channel
can be used, from a theoretical point of view, to solve completely the
eightfold degeneracy.Comment: 23 pages, using epsfi
Supernova 1987A did not test the neutrino mass hierarchy
We dispel the misconception that data from SN 1987A favor the normal neutrino
mass hierarchy over the inverted hierarchy for \sin^2 \theta_{13} \gsim
10^{-4}. We find comparable fits for the two hierarchies. No bound can be
placed on the mixing angle even at the 1 level.Comment: 15 pages, 9 figure
Angra Neutrino Project: status and plans
We present the status and plans of the Angra Project, a new nuclear reactor
neutrino oscillation experiment, proposed to be built in Brazil at the Angra
dos Reis nuclear reactor complex. This experiment is aimed to measure theta_13,
the last unknown of the three neutrino mixing angles. Combining a high
luminosity design, very low background from cosmic rays and careful control of
systematic errors at the 1% level, we propose a high sensitivity multi-detector
experiment, able to reach a sensitivity to antineutrino disappearance down to
sin^2(2*theta_13) = 0.006 in a three years running period, improving present

CP, T and CPT violation in future long baseline experiments
I give a short overview about the possibilities and problems related to the
measurement of CP violation in long baseline experiments. Special attention is
paid to the issue of degeneracies and a method for their resolution is
quantitatively discussed. The CP violation reach for different experiments is
compared in dependence of and \dm{21}. Furthermore a
short comment about the possible effects of matter induced T violation is made.

Experimental Signatures of Anomaly Induced DCC Formation
We discuss characteristic experimental signatures related to the formation of
domains of disoriented chiral condensate (DCC) triggered by the axial anomaly
in relativistic heavy ion collisions. We predict that the enhancement of the
fraction of neutral pions compared to all pions depends on the angle of
emission with respect to the scattering plane and is concentrated at small
transverse momentum and small rapidity in the center-of-mass frame. The
anisotropy with respect to the reaction plane is also observable in the
