Profile of Breastfeeding Practice among Mothers of Brazilian Children Attended in a Dentistry Preventive Program

Objective: To evaluate the breastfeeding practice of mothers of children assisted in the educational and preventive dentistry program to create actions to promote, protect and support breastfeeding. Material and Methods: This is a cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach carried out in a dental clinic for babies. A questionnaire was applied to the mothers containing 10 multiple choice questions about breastfeeding practices and attitudes. Data were stored in a Microsoft Excel database for descriptive statistical analysis. Results: 614 mothers answered the questionnaire. It was found that 96.4% of mothers considered breastfeeding the best way to feed a baby and the child's health benefits stood out as the main reason (98.7%) for breastfeeding. According to 82.9% of mothers, the ideal time to breastfeed the baby is up to 2 years of age; 81.8% breastfed or intended to breastfeed their children up to this age, finding it perfectly natural to breastfeed in public (72.1%). The greatest fear of mothers was not being able to breastfeed their child long enough (61.4%), feeling guilty about it (77%). On the other hand, breastfeeding in public was considered a fantastic attitude (56.8%). Conclusion: Mothers in this sample have information about the recommendations of the health agencies regarding breastfeeding; however, there was a large weaning index among them

Growth cycles in Latin America and developed countries

The Minskyan approach to financial instability and its effects on the real economy have recently been revived in order to explain the exchange rate crises undergone by the so-called emergent economies. Economies of this type are characterized by repeated scarcity of foreign currency, which can be explained by using Neo-Schumpeterian theory. Based on the Minskyan approach and on the Neo-Schumpeterian literature, this study seeks to demonstrate that there is a cyclic recurrence of exchange rate crises in Latin-American (peripheral) economies. By using data on international liquidity, the balance of payments and the increase in production in the G7 economies and in thirteen Latin-American economies, it was found that the Latin-American economies mirror the cycles of international liquidity.financial instability, national innovation system, cycles

Competitive coevolutionary algorithm for robust multi-objective optimization: the worst case minimization

Multi-Objective Optimization (MOO) problems might be subject to many modeling or manufacturing uncertainties that affect the performance of the solutions obtained by a multi-objective optimizer. The decision maker must perform an extra step of sensitivity analysis in which each solution should be verified for its robustness, but this post optimization procedure makes the optimization process expensive and inefficient. In order to avoid this situation, many researchers are developing Robust MOO, where uncertainties are incorporated in the optimization process, which seeks optimal robust solutions. We introduce a coevolutionary approach for robust MOO, without incorporating robustness measures neither in the objective function nor in the constraints. Two populations compete in the environment, one representing solutions and minimizing the objectives, another representing uncertainties and maximizing the objectives in a worst case scenario. The proposed coevolutionary method is a coevolutionary version of MOEA/D. Construction culture between tradition and modernity: three works by Álvaro Siza

Between 1958 and 1966, Álvaro Siza designed three remarkable works in Leça da Palmeira: the Boa Nova Tea House (1958-63), the Swimming Pool at Quinta da Conceição (1958-66) and the Ocean Swimming Pool (1959-66; building completed in 1973). Even though these buildings were designed within a short space of time and were built in the same area, they reflect the evolution of the construction culture in Portugal during the 1950s and 1960s, which evolved from a predominant recourse to traditional technologies using pre-industrial materials (often taking the form of a hybrid combination with modern solutions) towards the gradual affirmation of modern construction features made possible by the advances in the construction industry (mainly reinforced concrete).This work received the financial support of CEAU and Lab2PT. Análise e proposta de implantação de uma gestão por processos nas juntas comerciais

Trabalho de conclusão de curso (graduação)—Universidade de Brasília, Faculdade de Tecnologia, Departamento de Engenharia de Produção, 2016.Este estudo tem como objetivo analisar, através de um estudo de caso, o processo de registro empresarial em uma Junta Comercial, com o intuito de identificar em que estado se encontra o órgão em relação a uma gestão orientada por processos e propor uma metodologia de implantação desse modelo de gestão. Processos são um conjunto de atividades com entradas a serem transformadas e saídas, que podem ser bens ou serviços. Quando os processos identificados são essenciais, também chamados de processos de negócio, são diretamente ligados ao negócio da empresa, capazes de agregar valor ao negócio e ao cliente final. Uma organização voltada aos seus processos de negócio tende a obter maior sucesso no ramo de negócio em que está inserida. Organizações tradicionais possuem estruturas organizacionais estritamente funcionais, o que limita uma visão ampla dos processos de negócio, que percorrem as diversas áreas funcionais de uma empresa. Uma visão sistêmica do negócio possibilita a organização perceber a relação entre seus processos internos e a aplicação de seus recursos. Verificando os pontos que contrapõem uma administração por processos, é possível propor melhorias à organização de modo a orientá-la às melhores práticas da gestão por processos e, consequentemente, os seus benefícios. Através de observação direta, entrevistas e análise de documentos foi possível verificar o cenário atual de uma Junta Comercial em contraponto a uma visão por processos e, a partir disso, propor uma metodologia de implantação de uma gestão por processos em uma Junta Comercial, trazendo melhorias à administração pública e seu atendimento ao cidadão.This work aims to analyze, through a case study, the process of business registration in a Board of Trade, identifying where the organ stands in relation to a management based on processes, also proposing a methodology of implementation for this management model. Processes are a set of activities with inputs to be processed and outputs, which can be either assets or services. If the identified processes are essential, also called business processes, they are directly linked to the company business, adding value to both the business and final customer. An organization focused on their business processes tends to be more successful in the business area it is inserted. Traditional organizations have strictly functional organizational structures, which constrains a broad view of the business processes, which run among several functional areas of a company. A systemic business approach allows the organization to realize the relationship between their internal processes and the application of its resources. By checking the points that oppose an administration by processes, it is possible to propose improvements to the organization, orienting them to the best practices of process management, and consequently its benefits. Direct observation, interviews and document analysis made it possible to verify the current/actual scenario of a Board of in counterpoint to a process vision and from that, propose a methodology of implementing for a management based on processes in a Board of Trade, finally bringing improvements to the public administration and its citizen service

Teoria Aplicada ao Violão, de Othon da Rocha Neves: uma análise comparativa

This work presents the unpublished Theory Applied to the Guitar and Volumes 3 and 4 of Spanish Guitar published by Vitale in 1966, written by Othon da Rocha Neves (1924 – 1991), a composer, arranger and guitar teacher who works in the southern part of the State of Minas Gerais, who played an important role in national guitar didactics. We intend to realize a comparative analysis of the first work, along with other treatises that might have influenced Neves. These are Op. 59, by Matteo Carcassi (1792 - 1853), the Modern School of the Guitar Vol. 1, by Isaias Savio (1900 - 1977) and the Initiation to the Guitar, by Henrique Pinto (1941 - 2010). We also identified Ferdinando Carulli (1770 - 1841) and Emilio Pujol (1886 - 1980) as possible pedagogical influencers. This object of this investigation is to identify and characterize Neves' methodological and pedagogical approach as well as describing changes in his theoretical framework regarding his previous publications.Este trabalho apresenta o método inédito Teoria Aplicada ao Violão e os volumes 3 e 4 de Guitarra Espanhola publicados pela Editora Vitale em 1966, do compositor, arranjador e professor de violão da zona da mata mineira Othon da Rocha Neves (1924 – 1991), um relevante personagem da didática violonística nacional. Pretendemos realizar uma análise comparativa do método inédito com outros tratados que possivelmente teriam influenciado este didata, a saber, o Op. 59, de Matteo Carcassi (1792 – 1853), a Escola Moderna do Violão Vol. 1, de Isaias Savio (1900 – 1977) e a Iniciação ao Violão, de Henrique Pinto (1941 – 2010). Também identificamos Ferdinando Carulli (1770 – 1841) e Emilio Pujol (1886 – 1980) como possíveis influências pedagógicas. Os objetivos dessa investigação são: a identificação e caracterização da abordagem metodológica e pedagógica de Neves, bem como o detalhamento de mudanças no seu arcabouço teórico relativo às suas publicações anteriores. &nbsp
