Set up and characterization of a measuring system for PQ measurements in a MV site with PV generation
A Method for the Measurement of Digitizers’ Absolute Phase Error
A lot of engineering applications, from telecommunications to power systems, require
accurate measurement of phase angles. Some of them, like synchrophasor measurement and
calibration of instrument transformers with digital output, in order to reach high phase
measurement accuracy, require the knowledge of phase error of digitizers. Therefore, in this
paper a method for the measurement of digitizers’ absolute phase errors is proposed. It adopts a
sinewave and two square waves, that are the digitizer sample clock and a phase reference signal.
Combining the measurements of the relative phase differences between the adopted signals it is
possible to accurately evaluate the absolute phase error of a digitize
A Voltage Calibration Chain for Meters Used in Measurements of EV Inductive Power Charging
The inductive charging of electric vehicles requires specific measurement and
calibration systems. In fact, the measurement of power on board involves DC
signals, which are superimposed to a significant AC ripple up to or over 150
kHz, depending on the type of charging system. A calibration method that makes
use of a phantom power, based on two independent but synchronized circuits, is
considered, simulating the charging voltage and current. This paper describes
in detail a solution in the realization of the voltage calibration chain, based
on the use of a DC voltage calibrator, an injector and a voltage divider.Comment: 2 pages, Conference on Precision Electromagnetic Measurements (CPEM

Riciclare grandi telai territoriali
Microbial symbionts : a resource for the management of insect-related problems
Microorganisms establish with their animal hosts close interactions. They are involved in many aspects of the host life, physiology and evolution, including nutrition, reproduction, immune homeostasis, defence and speciation. Thus, the manipulation and the exploitation the microbiota could result in important practical applications for the development of strategies for the management of insect-related problems. This approach, defined as Microbial Resource Management (MRM), has been applied successfully in various environments and ecosystems, as wastewater treatments, prebiotics in humans, anaerobic digestion and so on. MRM foresees the proper management of the microbial resource present in a given ecosystem in order to solve practical problems through the use of microorganisms. In this review we present an interesting field for application for MRM concept, i.e. the microbial communities associated with arthropods and nematodes. Several examples related to this field of applications are presented. Insect microbiota can be manipulated: (i) to control insect pests for agriculture; (ii) to control pathogens transmitted by insects to humans, animals and plants; (iii) to protect beneficial insects from diseases and stresses. Besides, we prospect further studies aimed to verify, improve and apply MRM by using the insectsymbiont ecosystem as a model
Novel perspectives in redox biology and pathophysiology of failing myocytes: modulation of the intramyocardial redox milieu for therapeutic interventions - A review article from the Working Group of Cardiac Cell Biology, Italian Society of Cardiology
The prevalence of heart failure (HF) is still increasing worldwide, with enormous human, social, and economic costs, in spite of
huge efforts in understanding pathogeneticmechanisms and in developing effective therapies that have transformed this syndrome
into a chronic disease. Myocardial redox imbalance is a hallmark of this syndrome, since excessive reactive oxygen and nitrogen
species can behave as signaling molecules in the pathogenesis of hypertrophy and heart failure, leading to dysregulation of cellular
calcium handling, of the contractile machinery, of myocardial energetics and metabolism, and of extracellular matrix deposition.
Recently, following new interesting advances in understanding myocardial ROS and RNS signaling pathways, new promising
therapeutical approaches with antioxidant properties are being developed, keeping in mind that scavenging ROS and RNS tout
court is detrimental as well, since these molecules also play a role in physiological myocardial homeostasis
