La ambivalencia del antes y el después: los usos del tiempo en una versión reciente de la Saga de Basëbüke de los indios ishír (chamacoco)

Immediately after an historical review of the ethnography of the denominated Saga of Basëbüke of the Chamacoco Indians or Ishír of the Boreal Chaco, I analyse a new version of it from the hermeneutic approach to two characteristics extremely interesting: 1) the transposition of the narrative linking and the performances in other novel personage apparently denominated Son of Basëbüke, and 2) the substitution by the informant of the typical seriality of the traditional mythological chronology for other idiosyncratic chronology much more reduced, in which are inserted a set of events more appropriately historical. Emphasizing this peculiar way to organize the temporary course and its events, I finally formulate in some hypotheses about their incidence in the vital attitude of the informant and its conceptual setting.A renglón seguido de una reseña histórica de la etnografía de la denominada Saga de Basëbüke de los indios chamacoco o ishír del Chaco Boreal, se analiza una nueva versión de la misma, procurando un enfoque hermenéutico de dos características de sumo interesantes: 1) la transposición del encadenamiento narrativo y de las actuaciones en un personaje aparentemente novedoso denominado Hijo de Basëbüke, y 2) la sustitución por el informante de la seriación típica de la cronología mitológica tradicional por otra cronología idiosincrásica mucho más reducida, en la que se insertan un conjunto de sucesos históricos reales. Traditional records and digital tools: exploring the Session Journals of the Argentinian National Congress during the primer peronismo with Gephi

Mi propuesta para este trabajo consiste en revisar los usos políticos e históricos que se hicieron de los Diarios de Sesiones del peronismo clásico, prestando atención a sus características como fuente histórica y como elemento de intervención en el debate público, para luego presentar posibles formas de análisis con herramientas digitales de uno de los registros particulares que incluyen estos documentos: los informes de las votaciones nominales que se realizaban en la Cámara de Diputados. El objetivo será no sólo reconstruir una de las dimensiones cotidianas del trabajo legislativo, sino también recuperar la utilidad que ese tipo de información tiene para pensar uno de los aspectos más controvertidos –así fue interpretado por historiadores, periodistas, analistas políticos y observadores nativos– de la experiencia peronista: la incorporación sistemática de trabajadores y dirigentes sindicales al parlamento. Más que una apuesta por redefinir la investigación histórica a través del uso de herramientas digitales, lo que quiero presentar es un análisis de unos registros poco trabajados que esté a mitad de camino entre la exploración de datos con herramientas digitales y la revisión crítica respecto de las posibilidades y dificultades que conlleva usar este tipo de software para la investigación histórica.My proposal for this paper is to review the political and historical uses that were made of the Session Journals of classical Peronism –paying attention both to their characteristics as a historical source and as an element of intervention in the public debate– and to present possible forms of using digital tools to analyze one record included in these documents: the reports of roll-call votes for the Chamber of Deputies. The goal will be not only to reconstruct one of the daily dimensions of legislative work, but also to recover the usefulness of this type of information to think about one of the most controversial aspects –as it was interpreted by historians, journalists, political analysts, and native observers– of the Peronist experience: the systematic incorporation of workers and union leaders to the parliament. Rather than an attempt to redefine historical research using digital tools, what I want to present is an analysis of a rarely used set records that is halfway between the exploration of data with digital tools –Gephi in this case– and the critical review of the possibilities and difficulties involved in using this type of software for historical research.Fil: Rodríguez Cordeu, Joaquín. Child and parental acculturation attitudes and child well-being: concurrent and longitudinal relationships among children in immigrant contexts

The acculturation process is an important part of the experience that immigrant children and their families go through when adapting to live in a new country. Most studies on acculturation have included immigrant groups – mainly adults – living in North America and Europe. This thesis seeks to redress that imbalance by focussing on the acculturation attitudes and well-being of children and adolescents both in Chile and the United Kingdom (UK). A further important aspect is to examine how the discrepancies in acculturation within the family relate to children’s well-being and family relationships. In this thesis, a bi-dimensional approach (both desire for culture maintenance and culture adoption/desire for contact with other groups) is used to test various hypotheses about the relationship between acculturation orientations - children’s, parents’ and discrepancies between the children and parents - and well-being of children. Several features characterise the research: two different receiving contexts (UK and Chile); different national origins of participants (with immigrant background and non-immigrant background); use of cross-sectional, longitudinal and qualitative methods; use of both perceived parent and actual parent scores; and the presence of social mediators and moderators (e.g., perceived discrimination, perceived peer acceptance, perceived school climate and perceived family relationship). The main findings were that, both in UK and Chile, immigrant children showed preference for maintenance of their heritage culture (CM) and establishing contact with receiving groups (DC) (or adopting the receiving culture (CA)), and that this preference was related to better well-being than other options, both concurrently and longitudinally. The acculturation discrepancies between children and parents had different consequences on well-being if they were on CM, CA or DC, depending on the measure used to calculate the discrepancies and also for immigrant and non-immigrant children. The findings are discussed in relation to the existing literature, and implications are drawn for improving psychological adjustment of immigrants and for future research that is needed

Reflexiones para el estudio de la cuestión étnica

El trabajo se centra en un modelo analítico sobre la etnicidad que da cabida tanto a sus aspectos histórico-paradigmáticos como a aquellos particulares. Para eso se recorta al etnicidad como procesos de reproducción caracterizada y la identidad étnica como proceso de imaginarización de la etnicidad. Dicho recorte procura una explicación sintética de las interferencias entre acontecimientos e interpretación de los actores. Instancias reconstructivas complementarias: “. 1. Análisis de etnicidad, sobre un eje “longitudinal” que cubra los sucesivos contextos en los que un grupo étnico se inserte y uno “transversal” que dé cuenta de la diversificación de la re-producción del grupo según sus miembros se inserten en diferentes sub-contextos; 2. Análisis de la identidad étnica a partir de una matriz de significados sobre la linealidad, la singularidad y la corresponsabilidad étnicas.This paper is centered on an analytical model of ethnicity which includes both its paradigmatic and its particular historical aspects. To achieve this, ethnicity is set apart as a process of characterized reproduction, and ethnic identity, as a process of imaging of ethnicity. With this distinction, a synthetic explanation of the interferences between events and the actor’s interpretations is sought. Complementary reconstructive instances are: 1) analysis of ethnicity on a “longitudinal” axis covering the successive contexts in which an ethnic group is inserted and on a “transverse” axis covering the diversification of the re-production of the group as its members are inserted in different subcontexts; 2) analysis of ethnic identify based on a matrix of significations on ethnic lineality, singularity, and coresponsability.Sociedad Argentina de Antropologí

El duelo y el luto. Etnología y psicolagía de los idearios de la muerte

Teniendo en cuenta el doble campo de experiencias personales y colectivas asociado universalmente a los difuntos (el de los sentimientos personales de pérdida y, el de las concepciones culturales acerca la actividad e intenciones de éstos hacia los vivientes), se reivindica la validez teórica de la discriminación "EX VIVIENTE-experiencias de pérdida-DUELO"/ “MUERTO-concepción del muerto-LUTO" para el análisis de diversos tipos de idearios fúnebres. De esta forma, a partir de los continuum ideales ligados respectivamente al EX-VIVIENTE (represión/elaboración de la pérdida) y al MUERTO (mínima actividad/máxima actividad) se examina la familia de modelos resultante de las permutaciones entre los términos mencionados y se analiza la posible validez transcultural de los resultados obtenidos anteriormente por Philippe Aries. Spiro­[cyclo­pentane-1,2′(1′H)-pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidin]-4′(3′H)-one

The title compound, C11H13N2O, was obtained by cyclo­condensation of 2-amino­pyridine-3-carbonitrile with cyclo­penta­none. The mol­ecule is built up from two fused six-membered rings and one five-membered ring linked through a spiro C atom. Both the pyrimidine and the cyclo­pentane rings adopt envelope conformations. In the crystal structure, mol­ecules are linked by inter­molecular N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds

New symmetrical quinazoline derivatives selectively induce apoptosis in human cancer cells

In the search of new symmetrical derivatives with anticancer activity, we have looked for novel compounds able to induce a selective proapoptotic mechanism in cancer cells. The potential antitumoral activity of several quinazoline derivatives was evaluated in vitro examining their cytotoxic effects against human breast, colon and bladder cancer cell lines. The IC(50) value of the compounds that showed cytotoxic activity was calculated. These compounds were tested for their ability to induce caspase-3 activation and nuclear chromatin degradation. Non-tumoral human cell lines were used to test the selectivity of the cytotoxic compounds against cancer cells. Several compounds showed no cytotoxicity in these cell lines. Finally, JRF12 (2,4-dibenzylaminoquinazoline) was chosen as the best candidate and its mechanism of action was studied in more detail. A time dependent evaluation of apoptosis was performed in the three cancer cell lines, followed by an evaluation of the cell cycle regulation involvement that showed a decrease of cells in G(1) phase and increase of cells in G(2) phase before cell death. 2,4-dibenzylaminoquinazoline treatment produces few changes in the expression of genes as evaluated by using oligonucleotide microarrays and Q-RT-PCR assays. In conclusion, 2,4-dibenzylaminoquinazoline is a promising anticancer drug showing cytostatic and apoptotic effects mainly in a transcription independent manner

MicroRNA expression profiling in Imatinib-resistant Chronic Myeloid Leukemia patients without clinically significant ABL1-mutations

The development of Imatinib Mesylate (IM), the first specific inhibitor of BCR-ABL1, has had a major impact in patients with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML), establishing IM as the standard therapy for CML. Despite the clinical success obtained with the use of IM, primary resistance to IM and molecular evidence of persistent disease has been observed in 20-25% of IM treated patients. The existence of second generation TK inhibitors, which are effective in patients with IM resistance, makes identification of predictors of resistance to IM an important goal in CML. In this study, we have identified a group of 19 miRNAs that may predict clinical resistance to IM in patients with newly diagnosed CML

Quiste traumático o hemorrágico

Los autores presentamos un enfoque clínico descriptivo del Quiste traumático (hemorrágico). El quiste óseo traumático es una cavidad intraósea sin recubrimiento epitelial, es considerado un pseudoquiste del maxilar. Este quiste es también denominado simple o hemorrágico. Representa del 0,2 al 1% de la patología quística maxilar y se presentan generalmente de forma asintomática en la mandíbula de jóvenes entre los 5 y los 25 años. El pronóstico del quiste óseo solitario, tras curetaje simple de la cavidad es excelente. Se presenta un caso de quiste óseo traumático en paciente masculino de 18 años de edad. Se realizó tratamiento quirúrgico (curetaje). El paciente fue controlado con seguimiento radiográfico durante 1 año.The authors focus subject on the description of the Traumatic Cyst (hemorrhagic.
