W kręgu niemieckiej (i nie tylko) literatury ewangelizacyjnej. Kilka słów o próbach restytucji sztuki uprawianej „na chwałę Bożą i dla pożytku duchowego czytelnika”

Der Artikel versucht die Frage zu beantworten, ob die anspruchsvolle Evangelisationsliteratur sich heutzutage als Lektüre für breite Leserkreise durchsetzen kann. Zu diesem Zwecke schildert er den Verlauf des sich Anfang des 20. Jh. in Deutschland abspielenden Streites über das Wesen und den Stellenwert dieser Art von Literatur. Die damals an die katholische Literatur herangetragenen Postulate tauchen auch im heutigen Diskurs über die durch Glauben, Religion und Kirchenlehre inspirierten Literatur auf. Artykuł próbuje znaleźć odpowiedź na pytanie o możliwość zaistnienia i przebicia się w obecnych czasach do szerszych kręgów czytelniczych literatury ewangelizacyjnej „wysokich lotów”, stąd przybliża przebieg toczącego się na początku XX wieku w Niemczech sporu o istotę i miejsce tejże literatury. Wysuwane wówczas postulaty, odnoszące się do literatury katolickiej, pojawiają się bowiem również we współczesnym dyskursie na temat literatury inspirowanej wiarą, religią i nauką Kościoła.

Gewaltverortung und Gewaltkodierung. Zu den Berlin-Romanen von Inka Parei, Ingo Schramm und Tim Staffel

Im folgenden Beitrag wird die Gewaltkodierung in den Berlin-Romanen von Inka Parei, Ingo Schramm und Timm Staffel untersucht. Betrachtet werden die unterschiedlichen Gewaltformen, das Wirken von Gewalt auf die Romanfiguren sowie der Zusammenhang zwischen der Gewaltthematik und dem literarischen Topos ,Großstadt Berlin‘. Die drei Autoren schildern die deutsche Hauptstadt als Ort des Verbrechens und tiefster äußerer und innerer Verwahrlosung.This article deals with the codification of violence in the Berlin novels of Inka Parei, Ingo Schramm and Timm Staffel. The main focus lies on forms of violence and the impact of violence on the novels’ heroes as well as on the connectivity of violence with the literary place of the Berlin metropolis. The three authors portray the German capital as a place of crime and profound internal and external decay.Niniejszy artykuł koncentruje się na ukazaniu problemu kodowania przemocy, wyrażonej w powieściach o Berlinie autorstwa Inki Parei, Ingo Schramma i Timma Staffela oraz podejmuje próbę odpowiedzi na pytanie o formy i skutki przemocy dotykające postaci literackich oraz o związek przemocy z literackim toposem Berlina jako metropolii. Spuren eines Vielvölkerstädtchens. Das polnischukrainisch-jüdische Zolkiew der Salcia Landmann ("Erzählte Bilderbogen aus Ostgalizien")

Erzählte Bilderbogen aus Ostgalizien der SALCIA LANDMANN gehört zum autobiographischen Schrifttum der in den Westen gegangenen Ostjuden. In ihnen lässt die renommierte Judaistin, die ihr Wirken insbesondere der versunkenen Sprache und Kultur des Ostjudentums gewidmet hat, ihre Geburtsstadt Zolkiew als auf überlieferten Erinnerungen und Recherchen beruhendes literarisches Konstrukt entstehen. Die Analyse des Werkes bringt zum einen typische Merkmale der ostjüdischen Erinnerungsliteratur zum Vorschein und gewährt zum anderen Einblicke in den das spätere publizistische Anliegen der Autorin nachhaltig prägenden Einfluss des jüdischen Alltagslebens in einem galizischen Vielvölkerstädtchen.Erzählte Bilderbogen aus Ostgalizien by SALCIA LANDMANN is part of the autobiographic literature of the Eastern Jews who immigrated to the West. In this series of pictures the renowned expert in Jewish studies, who dedicated her work to the sunken language and culture of the Eastern Jewry, literarily constructs her birth city on the basis of transmitted memories and her own research. The analysis of this work reveals typical features of the Eastern Jewish memory literature and allows insights into the Jewish everyday life in the Galician multiethnic town, which proved to be formative for the author’s later writings.Tekst Erzählte Bilderbogen aus Ostgalizien autorstwa SALCII LANDMANN jest przykładem prozy autobiograficznej Żydów galicyjskich, którzy wyemigrowali na Zachód. Physiological Response of Three Grapevine Cultivars Grown In North-Western Poland to Mycorrhizal Fungi

West Pomerania (Poland) is located near the northern boundary of the range of viticulture (the coldest zone A). Unfavourable weather conditions can pose a serious threat to the cultivated vines. One of the treatments used to increase the tolerance of plants to abiotic and biotic stresses is inoculation with symbiotic soil microorganisms. This paper focuses on the influence of mycorrhization on the changes in soil microbiology, the degree of colonization of roots by mycorrhizal fungi, and on selected physiologicalparameters of three grapevine cultivars (‘Pinot Noir’ on SO4 rootstock, ‘Regent’ on 5BB rootstock, and ‘Rondo’ on 125AA rootstock). The applied inoculation had a stimulating effect on the colonization of roots by arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi, as evidenced by higher mycorrhizal frequency and intensity in the mycorrhized plants. The mycorrhizal treatment increased the intensity of CO2 assimilation and transpiration. Mycorrhization reduced the efficiency of photosynthetic water use and increased stomatal conductance for water in the grapevines tested. The mycorrhizal treatment did not affect the concentration of assimilation pigments in vine leaves. The mycorrhization of grapevines had no effect on the values of initial fluorescence, maximum fluorescence, the maximum potential efficiency of photochemical reaction in PS II, the size of the pool of reduced electron acceptors in PS II, nor on the value of the PS II vitality index

Antifungal Activity and Mechanism of Action of the Co(III) Coordination Complexes With Diamine Chelate Ligands Against Reference and Clinical Strains of Candida spp.

Although many antifungal agents are available in clinical treatment, increasing resistance of fungi, especially Candida species, to the available drugs requires the development of new safe and non-toxic compounds with novel modes of action as effective treatment against resistant microorganisms. Cobalt complexes are very interesting and attractive as potential candidates with antimicrobial activity. Their therapeutic uses as antiviral, antibacterial antifungal, antiparasitic, antitumour, transferrin transporters, and anti-inflammatory agents are being intensively investigated. In this study we examined the antifungal activity of Co(III) complexes with diamine chelate ligands against a broad spectrum of Candida species. Minimum inhibitory concentration was determined by the microbroth dilution method and with serial passaging assay; the synergistic antimicrobial activity of the tested complexes combined with two antifungal drugs (ketoconazole and amphotericin B) was made by checkerboard assay. The effects of Co(III) complexes on yeast cell morphology were studied by optical and transmission electron microscopy. The mode of action of Co(III) complexes on the yeast cell wall (sorbitol assay) and cell membrane (ergosterol assay) were investigated. The cytotoxic effects of the tested compounds on red blood cells and the human keratinocyte (HaCaT) cell line were also evaluated. The analyzed compounds revealed significant antifungal activity for selected strains of Candida species; [CoCl2(dap)2]Cl (1) and [CoCl2(en)2]Cl (2) were more effective than ketoconazole. Its probable mechanism of action did not involve the cell wall or ergosterol binding. However, the checkerboard assay showed, that the antifungal activity of ketoconazole increased in combination with the tested complexes of Co(III). Our results suggest that both diamine complexes with Co(III) analogs caused damage to mitochondrial membrane or the membrane of the endoplasmic reticulum. The effect was observed by transmission electron microscope. Co(III) complexes with diamine chelate ligands are non-toxic at concentrations active against Candida species. This study provides new data on potential antifungal drugs, especially against Candida species

Puns and neologisms as a translation problem at the example of the polish translation of the novel „Die Unvollendeten“ of Reinhard Jirgl

Temat pracy brzmi: Gry słowne i neologizmy jako problem translatorski na przykładzie tłumaczenia powieści "Niedopełnieni" Reinharda Jirgla. Przekład powieści na język polski stanowiło dla tłumacza duże wyzwanie. Najtrudniejsze do przetłumaczenia są gry słowne i neologizmy, które bardzo często występują w powieści. Jirgl nie boi się bawić słowami, co znacznie utrudnia pracę tłumaczowi. Z analizy przytoczonych przykładów wysuwają się wnioski, że razem ze znaczeniem słów także stylistyka tekstu oryginalnego była bardzo ważna a także, że tłumacz musiał badać elementy poddawane przekładowi pod wieloma aspektami. W niektórych przepadkach było niemożliwe, zachować wszystkie zamierzenie autora. Istnieją także przypadki, gdzie mamy do czynienia z ekwiwalencją zerową.The topic of the work is: Puns and neologisms as a translation problem at the example of the polish translation of the novel „Die Unvollendeten“ of Reinhard Jirgl. The assignment of the novel one put a great challenge for the translator from the German into Polish. The difficult is to translated puns and neologisms which very often stand in the original. Jirgl isn´t afraid to play with words, which causes the translator many problems. From the examples subjected to an analysis it can that the stylistics of the source language text very importantly was simultaneously with the meaning, too and that one of the translators had to examine the compounds from many aspects to be in the position to decide only then which levels shall be kept into target language text be pointed out. In some cases it wasn´t possible to follow all intentions of Jirgl. We have one at the beginning or in the midst of the words to work with the zero equivalence at the account of numbers as a syllable. However don´t talk about a fault here. It is the cause that the Polish language unfortunately doesn´t give any possibility of representing the number correspondingly.Das Thema der vorliegenden Arbeit lautet: Wortspiele und Neologismen als Übersetzungsproblem am Beispiel der polnischen Übersetzung des Romans „Die Unvollendeten“ von Reinhard Jirgl. Die Übertragung des Romans aus dem Deutschen ins Polnische stellte für den Übersetzer eine große Herausforderung. Am schwierigsten sind Wortspiele und Neologismen zu übersetzen, die im Original sehr oft vorkommen. Jirgl hat keine Angst, mit Wörter zu spielen, was dem Übersetzer sehr viele Probleme bereitet. Aus den einer Analyse unterzogenen Beispielen lässt sich herausstellen, dass gleichzeitig mit der Bedeutung auch die Stilistik des Ausgangssprachetextes sehr wichtig war und das der Übersetzer unter vielen Aspekten die Komposita untersuchen musste um erst dann entscheiden zu können, welche Ebenen in Zielsprachetext beibehalten werden sollen. In manchen Fällen war nämlich nicht möglich, allen Absichten Jirgls zu folgen. Bei den Wortkombinationen (Wortverbindung, Wortzerlegung) musste Wojnakowski auch Augen offen halten, weil in der polnischen Sprache solche Maßnahmen nicht vorkommen. Mit der Nulläquivalenz haben wir bei der Wiedergabe von Ziffern als Silbe ein am Anfang oder inmitten des Wortes zu tun. Jedoch man darf hier nicht von einem Fehler sprechen. Die Ursache ist, dass die polnische Sprache leider keine Möglichkeit gibt, die Ziffer entsprechend wiederzugeben
