    This research aims to develop a vision system with low energy consumption for Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). The imager in question must meet the specific requirements of multimedia applications for Wireless Vision Sensor Networks. Indeed, a multimedia application requires intensive computation at the node and a considerable number of packets to be exchanged through the transceiver, and therefore consumes a lot of energy. An obvious solution to reduce the amount of transmitted data is to compress the images before sending them over WSN nodes. However, the severe constraints of nodes make ineffective in practice the implementation of standard compression algorithms (JPEG, JPEG2000, MJPEG, MPEG, H264, etc.). Desired vision system must integrate image compression techniques that are both effective and with low-complexity. Particular attention should be taken into consideration in order to best satisfy the compromise "Energy Consumption - Quality of Service (QoS)".Ce travail de recherche vise à concevoir un système de vision à faible consommation d'énergie pour les réseaux de capteurs sans fil. L'imageur en question doit respecter les contraintes spécifiques des applications multimédias pour les réseaux de capteurs de vision sans fil. En effet, de par sa nature, une application multimédia impose un traitement intensif au niveau du noeud et un nombre considérable de paquets à échanger à travers le lien radio, et par conséquent beaucoup d'énergie à consommer. Une solution évidente pour diminuer la quantité de données transmise, et donc la durée de vie du réseau, est de compresser les images avant de les transmettre. Néanmoins, les contraintes strictes des noeuds du réseau rendent inefficace en pratique l'exécution des algorithmes de compression standards (JPEG, JPEG2000, MJPEG, MPEG, H264, etc.). Le système de vision à concevoir doit donc intégrer des techniques de compression d'image à la fois efficaces et à faible complexité. Une attention particulière doit être prise en compte en vue de satisfaire au mieux le compromis "Consommation énergétique - Qualité de Service (QoS)"

    Probabilistic Model and Solution Algorithm for the Electricity Retailers in the Italian Market

    The paper considers the problem of maximizing the profits of a retailer operating in the Italian electricity market. The problem consists in selecting the contracts portfolio and in defining the bidding strategy in the wholesales market while respecting the technical and regulatory constraints. A novel solution method based on a enhanced discovery of the search domain in the simulated annealing technique has been developed for its solution and a set of realistic test problems have been generated for its validation. The experimental results show that our method outperforms the standard simulated annealing by an improvement gap of 20,48% in average

    Minimum power multicasting in wireless networks under probabilistic node failures

    In this paper we deal with a probabilistic extension of the minimum power multicast (MPM) problem for wireless networks. The deterministic MPM problem consists in assigning transmission powers to the nodes, so that a multihop connection can be established between a source and a given set of destination nodes and the total power required is minimized. We present an extension to the basic problem, where node failure probabilities for the transmission are explicitly considered. This model reflects the necessity of taking uncertainty into account in the availability of the hosts. The novelty of the probabilistic minimum power multicast (PMPM) problem treated in this paper consists in the minimization of the assigned transmission powers, imposing at the same time a global reliability level to the solution network. An integer linear programming formulation for the PMPM problem is presented. Furthermore, an exact algorithm based on an iterative row and column generation procedure, as well as a heuristic method are proposed. Computational experiments are finally presente

    ABSTRAK Mudharabah adalah akad kerja sama pemilik modal dan pengelola modal dimana keuntungan dan kerugian dibagi berdasarkan kesepakatan oleh beberapa pihak yang terlibat. Musyarakah adalah akad kerjasama dua pihak atau lebih untuk berserikat dalam modal serta keuntungan dan kerugian yang diperoleh dibagi berdasarkan kesepakatan secara proporsional. Dasar hukum pembiayaan mudharabah dan pembiayaan musyarakah ada dalam al-Quran, Hadist, dan Ijma‟. Produk hukum yang mengatur kedua pembiayaan tersebut yaitu Perundang-undangan, Peraturan Bank Indonesia, Fatwa DSN MUI. Sebelum melaksanakan akad pembiayaan mudharabah dan musyarakah perlu diketahui dan diaktualisasikannya syarat dan rukun daripada kedua pembiayaan tersebut. Pembiayaan mudharabah terbagi menjadi dua bagian yaitu mudharabah muthlaqah dan mudharabah muqayyadah sedangkan Pembiayaan musyarakah terbagi kepada dua bagian, yaitu syirkah al-amlak dan syirkah al-„uqud. Syirkah al-amlak terdiri dari, yaitu syirkah al-jabr dan syirkah al-ikhtiyar. Sedangkan syirkah al-„uqud terdiri dari empat jenis, yaitu syirkah al-mufawadhah, syirkah al-„inan, syirkah al-wujuh, syirkah al-„amal, dan syirkah mudharabah.     On the periodic hierarchical Chinese postman problem

    This paper presents a mathematical formulation and a heuristic approach for a new variant of the Hierarchical Chinese Postman Problem (HCPP). Indeed, we introduce the concept of periodicity, and we define and solve, for the first time, the Periodic-HCPP, denoted as P-HCPP. Given that the resulting integer programming model makes use of a big number of binary variables and given the extended time horizon considered, 30 days in our case, the problem is characterized by a high level of complexity. However, our developed heuristic is able to solve instances having up to 40 nodes, 520 arcs and hierarchies, whereas a general-purpose solver like Gurobi was not able to provide solutions for instances having more than 10 nodes. While the collected results are very encouraging, we provide at the end of this paper a set of possible future extensions of this work

    The Steiner Tree Problem with Delays: A compact formulation and reduction procedures

    This paper investigates the Steiner Tree Problem with Delays (STPD), a variation of the classical Steiner Tree problem that arises in multicast routing. We propose an exact solution approach that is based on a polynomial-size formulation for this challenging NP-hard problem. The LP relaxation of this formulation is enhanced through the derivation of new lifted Miller-Tucker-Zemlin subtour elimination constraints. Furthermore, we present several preprocessing techniques for both reducing the problem size and tightening the LP relaxation. Finally, we report the results of extensive computational experiments on instances with up to 1000 nodes. These results attest to the efficacy of the combination of the enhanced formulation and reduction techniques

    Combinatorial-Based Auction For The Transportation Procurement: An Optimization-Oriented Review

    This paper conducts a literature review on freight transport service procurements (FTSP) and explores the application of combinatorial auctions (CAs) mechanism and the mathematical modeling approach of the associated problems. It provides an overview of modeling the problems and their solution strategies. The results demonstrate that there has been limited scholarly attention to sustainable issues, risk mitigation and the stochastic nature of parameters. Finally, several promising future directions for FTSP research have been proposed, including FTSP for green orientation in the context of carbon reduction, shipper’s reputation, carrier collaboration for bid generation, etc
