Multi-photon signal in supersymmetry comprising non-pointing photon(s) at the LHC
We study a distinct supersymmetric signal of multi-photons in association
with jets and missing transverse energy. At least one of these photons has the
origin in displaced vertex, thus delayed and non-pointing. We consider a
supersymmetric scenario in which the gravitino is the lightest supersymmetric
particle (LSP) (with a mass ) and the lightest neutralino is the
next-to-lightest supersymmetric particle (NLSP). The NLSP decays dominantly
into a photon and a gravitino within the detector with a decay length ranging
from 50-100 cm. In addition, we assume that the
second lightest neutralino and the lightest neutralino are nearly degenerate
and this leads to a prompt radiative decay of the next-to-lightest neutralino
into a photon and a lightest neutralino with a large branching ratio. Such
degenerate neutralinos can be realised in various representations of the
, , and Grand Unified Theories (GUTs). The non-pointing
photons can be reconstructed at the electromagnetic calorimeter of the ATLAS
inner-detector, which have been designed with good timing and directional
resolution. We find that with a centre-of-mass energy at an
integrated luminosity of 100 one may see evidence of hundreds of
tri-photon events and a few four-photons events at the LHC, in addition to
several thousands di-photon events. We also predict the event rates even at the

Extracellular vesicle-mediated transfer of processed and functional RNY5 RNA
Extracellular vesicles (EVs) have been proposed as a means to promote intercellular communication. We show that when human primary cells are exposed to cancer cell EVs, rapid cell death of the primary cells is observed, while cancer cells treated with primary or cancer cell EVs do not display this response. The active agents that trigger cell death are 29- to 31-nucleotide (nt) or 22- to 23-nt processed fragments of an 83-nt primary transcript of the human RNY5 gene that are highly likely to be formed within the EVs. Primary cells treated with either cancer cell EVs, deproteinized total RNA from either primary or cancer cell EVs, or synthetic versions of 31- and 23-nt fragments trigger rapid cell death in a dose-dependent manner. The transfer of processed RNY5 fragments through EVs may reflect a novel strategy used by cancer cells toward the establishment of a favorable microenvironment for their proliferation and invasion
Back reaction effects on the dynamics of heavy probes in heavy quark cloud
We holographically study the effect of back reaction on the hydrodynamical
properties of strongly coupled super Yang-Mills (SYM) thermal
plasma. The back reaction we consider arises from the presence of static heavy
quarks uniformly distributed over SYM plasma. In order to
study the hydrodynamical properties, we use heavy quark as well as heavy
quark-antiquark bound state as probes and compute the jet quenching parameter,
screening length and binding energy. We also consider the rotational dynamics
of heavy probe quark in the back-reacted plasma and analyse associated energy
loss. We observe that the presence of back reaction enhances the energy-loss in
the thermal plasma. Finally, we show that there is no effect of angular drag on
the rotational motion of quark-antiquark bound state probing the back reacted

Role of bronchoalveolar lavage in the diagnosis of lung cancer
Background: Early diagnosis of lung cancer plays a vital role in reducing the lung cancer death rate. Different modalities can be applied e.g. radiology, bronchoscopy, bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL), and fine needle aspiration cytology. Cytological diagnostic techniques are safer, economical, and provide quick results. The aim of the study was to find out diagnostic yields of bronchoalveolar lavage in diagnosing lung cancer, and to determine the sensitivity, and specificity of BAL fluid cytology considering the bronchial biopsy as the gold standard.Methods: This cross-sectional study was carried out in the Department of Respiratory Medicine, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), Dhaka during the period from November 2018 to March 2020 with a total of 38 participants.Results: 33 (86.84%) patients were male, and 5 (13.16%) were female; the mean age was 58.29±13.11 years. In clinical presentations, cough was present in all 100% of the patients, and some more frequent presentations were shortness of breath in 26 (68.4%), hemoptysis in 24 (63.15%), and chest pain in 21 (55.26%). Majority of the patients (78.95%) were smokers. Considering histopathological findings, maximum patients had squamous cell carcinoma 13 (38.23%), then adenocarcinoma 11 (32.35%), small cell carcinoma 5 (14.70%), large cell carcinoma 3 (8.82%), and poorly differentiated non-small cell carcinoma 2 (5.88%). The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value, and overall accuracy of BAL were 70.59%, 100%, 100%, 28.57%, and 73.68% respectively.Conclusions: BAL fluid cytology is a useful tool for the diagnosis of lung cancer. It has good sensitivity, and specificity, and shows nearly identical information as biopsy
Delay-Aware Control Designs of Wide-Area Power Networks
A co-design of the implementation platform and control strategies for wide-area power networks is addressed. Limited and shared resources among control and non-control applications introduce delays in transmitted messages. The design is based on a delay-aware architecture and cloud computing has been proposed for damping wide-area oscillations. We accommodate possibly large delays in the network and take into account their values in the designs. Moreover, we design output feedbacks for the cases that some state variables are not accessible. A two-species model of a two-dimensional sandpile surface: a case of asymptotic roughening
We present and analyze a model of an evolving sandpile surface in (2 + 1)
dimensions where the dynamics of mobile grains ({\rho}(x, t)) and immobile
clusters (h(x, t)) are coupled. Our coupling models the situation where the
sandpile is flat on average, so that there is no bias due to gravity. We find
anomalous scaling: the expected logarithmic smoothing at short length and time
scales gives way to roughening in the asymptotic limit, where novel and

The surprising politics of anti-immigrant prejudice: How political conservatism moderates the effect of immigrant race and religion on infrahumanisation judgements
Attitudes towards immigrants in the UK are worsening. It has been posited that these attitudes may reflect covert racial and religious prejudices, particularly among conservatives. To investigate this, two studies examined the role that immigrant race (Black/White; Study 1) and immigrant religion (Muslim/non-Muslim; Study 2) played in immigrant infrahumanisation judgements, using political conservatism as a moderating variable. There was a moderating effect of political conservatism; however, it was not in the predicted direction. The results of both studies indicated that immigrant race (Black) and immigrant religion (Muslim) predicted greater infrahumanisation when political conservatism was low. Conservatives infrahumanised all immigrants equally (and more than liberals), but liberals were more sensitive to racial/religious biases in their evaluations of immigrants

Beyond the Planar Limit in ABJM
In this article we consider gauge theories with a U(N)X U(N) gauge group. We
provide, for the first time, a complete set of operators built from scalar
fields that are in the bi fundamental of the two groups. Our operators
diagonalize the two point function of the free field theory at all orders in
1/N. We then use this basis to investigate non-planar anomalous dimensions in
the ABJM theory. We show that the dilatation operator reduces to a set of
decoupled harmonic oscillators, signaling integrability in a nonplanar large N
