The notes composing this paper, assembled in an essayistic and fragmented manner, aim to guide a reading plan that confront the contemporary, or neoliberal, experience of time, and the regime of historicity implied in it, to Benjamin's notion of "catastrophe". It attempts to revisit the "critical power" of the dialectic, as worked out by the Critical Theory of Society, especially in Adorno (1982; 1991; 2013; 2015) and Benjamin (1994; 2007; 2011; 2013) and present in contemporary thinkers such as Agamben (2004; 2014) and Žižek (2011; 2014; 2016) to argue for a non-totalized interpretation of reality. The objective is argue the link, although not evident, of politics in relation to the historicity of subjectivity and to epistemological theories, specifically to the theory of History. This paper aims to present a study of the reliability of the Auxiliary Feed-water System (AFWS) through the methods of Fault Tree and Bayesian Network. Therefore, the paper consists of a literature review of the history of nuclear energy and the methodologies used. The AFWS is responsible for providing water system to cool the secondary circuit of nuclear reactors of the PWR type when normal feeding water system failure. How this system operates only when the primary system fails, it is expected that the AFWS failure probability is very low. The AFWS failure probability is divided into two cases: the first is the probability of failure in the first eight hours of operation and the second is the probability of failure after eight hours of operation, considering that the system has not failed within the first eight hours. The calculation of the probability of failure of the second case was made through the use of Fault Tree and Bayesian Network, that it was constructed from the Fault Tree. The results of the failure probability obtained were very close, on the order of 10-3

This paper seeks to question the relationship between lyrical subject and living subject as from the poem O rel gio e o sonho by Moacyr F lix originally published in the book O p o e o vinho 1959 work in which the poet said he had found his own face Highlighting the theme of memory we refer to Baudelaire s metaphor of the fencer and the relationship between Erfahrung and Erlebnis as well as between lived experience and poetic experience in Benjamin to support the hypothesis that affirmative of poetic identity in Felix s lyric is at the same time the realization of its los

Why not "do simple things in a simple way": Use of the Pap test as the first step in screening genetic stability for human cultured stem cell therapy?

The aim of this study was to analyze adipose tissue-derived mesenchymal stem cells (AT-MSCs) using the Pap test as a first screening step to evaluate genetic stability. Human adipose tissue from six healthy female donors was obtained from elective liposuction procedures. The cells were isolated, cultivated at P2/P3, characterized by flow cytometric analysis, and differentiation induced. The AT-MSCs were stained by Papanicolaou staining and analyzed according to the Bethesda classification, and viability-apoptosis relationships were evaluated. The results of the Pap test for Sample I indicated high-grade alterations consistent with genetic instability; for Samples II-V, atypical cells of undetermined significance; and for Sample VI, normal cells. These results demonstrate the potential of using the Pap test as an initial screening step to evaluate the genetic stability of cultured AT-MSCs and also suggest its use for other adherent cells such as embryonic stem cells or induced pluripotent stem cells

    Lamento, a impotência da linguagem

This paper is based on Giorgio Agamben's reflections about Ticiano's painting Flaying of Marsyas, in order to question the relationship between artistic "inspiration" and the work of critical thinking as a work of mourning. Thus, it establishes connections between thoughts of Agamben and Benjamin, in order to take from the german philosopher indications on the "baroque melancholy" in order to assert that Ticiano's picture, by representing the painter himself as Midas seeking to hear the "lament" of Marsyas, is "exemplary" of the mourning that corresponds as much to the work of the philosopher as to the work of the artist. This is because both would take as an "object" that which is unrepresentable to the look and impossible to the word: the relationship, always hanging, between potency and impotence. Keywords: Lament. Language. Impotence. Artistic creation.

    Get PDF
