    Kesirsel süpersimetrik iso(1,1)

    Get PDF
In this study, fractional supersymmetric iso(1,1) based on the permutation groups S3, is obtained in the Hopf algebra formulation. This algebra is denoted by U (iso(1,1)).Bu çalışmada, S3 permütasyon grupları üzerine kurulmuş kesirsel süpersimetrik iso(1,1) cebri, Hopf cebri formülasyonunda elde edilmiştir. Bu cebir U (iso(1,1)) ile gösterilmiştir

CAST constraints on the axion-electron coupling

    Get PDF
In non-hadronic axion models, which have a tree-level axion-electron interaction, the Sun produces a strong axion flux by bremsstrahlung, Compton scattering, and axiorecombination, the "BCA processes." Based on a new calculation of this flux, including for the first time axio-recombination, we derive limits on the axion-electron Yukawa coupling gae and axion-photon interaction strength ga using the CAST phase-I data (vacuum phase). For ma <~ 10 meV/c2 we find ga gae < 8.1 × 10−23 GeV−1 at 95% CL. We stress that a next-generation axion helioscope such as the proposed IAXO could push this sensitivity into a range beyond stellar energy-loss limits and test the hypothesis that white-dwarf cooling is dominated by axion emission

Are the MCVL tax data useful? Ideas for mining

    Get PDF
This article analyzes the tax data from the Spanish “Continuous Sample of Working life”, which contains an overview for each fiscal year of all income tax withholdings and prepayments on earned income, economic activities and income assignments of salaried workers, pensioners and recipients of unemployment benefits. To that end, we present the characteristics of these data; we provide a detailed statistical description for the years 2004-2009, linked to information from personal files and those of contributors to the Spanish social security system; and we highlight the opportunities for analysis of some issues related to the labour market and income distribution.tax data, MCVl, income, labour market, panel dat

Rising Powers and Global Governance: dissecting the dynamics between Brazil and China

    Get PDF
Rising powers have a nuanced relationship with the extant global gov ernance (GG) system. This study draws upon China and Brazil as examples, and seeks to explain their different stances towards the GG, by contemplating the cases of BRICS, Responsibility to Protect (R2P) regime, Proliferation Security Initiative (PSI), and the United Nations Security Council reform. Therefore, this study serves as an attempt to dissect the dynamics whereby rising powers engage with each other vis-à-vis global governance.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

The implications of the foot health status in Parkinson patients: A case–control study

    Get PDF
Parkinson's disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative disorder that affects bothhealth of the feet, as to gait patterns. This study aimed to find out about footproblems and their impact on self-perceived quality of life and related to foothealth in Parkinson's patients compared to a group of healthy subjects and tomeasure it with Spanish Podiatry Health Questionnaire (PHQ-S). It is about acase–control study in a sample of Parkinson's patients n=62, healthy controlsn=62. The PHQ-S was reported, it describes perception the subject has ineach of podiatric 6 dimensions consulted, assessing appreciation of health sta-tus of interviewee's feet and a self-rated the foot health score on the visual ana-log scale (VAS). There were statistically significant differences (P< 0.05) inthe dimensions that assessed problems with walking and moving, nail trim-ming, concern feet state, and affectation of quality of life related foot health.Regarding the self-perception of state of their feet, Parkinson's patientsperceive a worse state of health of their feet than healthy subjects. The meanvalue was 4.8 (SD 2.2) for Parkinson's patients and 3.8 (SD 2.3) for healthysubjects. In conclusion, patients with PD have problems in walking or moving, foot pain, difficulties in foot hygiene and in cutting for their nails, as well asthe concern they suffer from deterioration in state of their feet affect them anddecrease their quality of life. Podiatric problems in Parkinson's patients have agreat impact in reducing quality of life related to foot health.Parkinson Association's of Malaga. Crossing Routes: Artificial Intelligence Governance and Human Rights in Latin America

    Get PDF
Currently ongoing efforts are underway to develop normative frameworks for AI governance at different levels, including the Latin American region. These normative frameworks tend to highlight that the “respect and protection of human rights” should be at the core of AI development. However, the meaning of that expression remains to be explored. This work aims to understand the distinctive policy implications that arise for Latin American States when adopting a human centered approach to AI governance.Fil: Llorens, María Pilar. This paper explores the potential opportunities for collaboration between the PublicDevelopment Banks (PDBs) and philanthropies, highlighting how a well-designed blendedfinance framework can align both types of actors and scale up climate investments inemerging economies. It also defines challenges in creating effective synergies betweenthese two development finance actors

The Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program (TTCSP) of the Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania and Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) hosted the 2019 Global Think Tank Summit under the theme “Managing Global Turbulence and Transitions: The Role of Think Tanks.”The summit was held December 11th-13th, 2019 at the Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) main office in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The most influential and innovative think tanks from around the world gathered to discuss the role of think tanks in increasing global turbulence and transitions, such as navigating the new world order, popular discontent, democracy and dictators in the digital age, climate change, food and water security, trade disputes and domestic and global political tensions. This summit created a unique forum for think tanks from across each region of the world to collaborate, exchange ideas and best practices, and wrestle with the contemporary political and policy issues confronting civil society globally. Its diversity and collaborative format fostered an environment in which think tanks challenged and learned from one another. Through constructive discourse, think tanks reflected on their work thus far and collaborated ways in which they can better approach the current contentious political and social climate. The summit aimed to provide think tanks reinvigorated drive to engage in quality research and analysis practices to confront present-day challenges
