Framework for GRID metascheduling with SLAs

Integration of heterogeneous resources in different administrative domains makes control and management of these environments a hard task, and this could be even worse if organizations intend to use these resources in a coordinate manner. Our goal is to simplify these labors with a policy based management schema. Policies with a high level of abstraction will be transform automatically in business rules to the right entities. In this paper we define a framework and several design aspects to show how this policy based management schema can be done. MPLS vs. ruteo IP convencional

MPLS es un estandar desarrollado para consensuar diferentes soluciones propietarias de conmutación multinivel. Con el objetivo de comparar el rendimiento del reenvío de una red MPLS con el de una red IP convencional (bajo Linux), se diseñó e implementó una aplicación Evaluadora de Routers en los lenguajes C y PHP. Dicha aplicación genera un gráfico en barras por cada router que permite evaluar los tiempos medios de ruteo para diferentes patrones de tráfico. En este trabajo se introduce el análisis de requerimientos y la arquitectura de la Aplicación Evaluadora de Routers, como así también los rendimientos globales que se obtuvieron para ambas redes. Administración de redes basadas en políticas

En nuestros días la complejidad y el dinamismo de las redes informáticas han vuelto su control y mantenimiento un verdadero dolor de cabeza para los administradores. Nuestro objetivo es simplificar estas labores a través de la implementación y extención de un esquema para administración, basado en políticas, donde de la definición de las políticas con un nivel alto de abstracción se ira transformado de reglas de negocio a reglas de configuración aplicables a los distintos tipos de dispositivos en forma automática. Designing a Myro-Compatible Robot for Education as Copyleft Hardware

The application of less conventional teaching techniques shows a growing trend. Studies have shown that the usage of educational robots improves learning in informatics. This work presents the architecture of a vision capable, low-cost robotic system designed and built to be used as an educational platform. We opted for open architecture and copyleft hardware to make our de- velopment shareable with other institutions and agencies, while keeping in mind the costs and complexity associated with the creation of such a platform. By mixing in an embedded Linux system and a vision system, the robotic platform became more powerful and apt for other uses.
