Blurring the Boundaries: Images of Androgyny in Germany at the Fin de Siecle

The following study inquires into the emergence and development of a positive, nonnormative homosexual identity in German social discourses regarding androgyny and same-sex desire during the Wilhelmine period. Literary works, medical journals, homosexual journals, and visual art in the late-nineteenth century reflect a growing interest in androgynous bodies throughout Germany’s developing homosexual community. Such primary media provide the evidence for this study. Of particular interest are the works and theories of homosexuals themselves with an emphasis on their organizational journals (such as The Own and The Annual Book of Intermediate Sexualities) and photographs. This project examines the dissemination and reception of images of androgyny that were included in these various works by Germany’s homosexual community—indeed, how homosexuals themselves responded to a subversive project of normality. Ultimately, their response is the foundation of the main argument of the essay. Homosexuals in Germany at the fin de siècle fashioned a new, self-affirming aesthetic with androgyny at its core. I maintain that the media of photography, literature, and popular journals disseminated this aesthetic among those who sought to define themselves simultaneously outside normative gender roles and in a positive manner

Análisis de sitios web sobre regalos de empresa posicionados en Google.es

    Get PDF

    Station-keeping for lattice-preserving Flower Constellations

    Get PDF
2D-Lattice Flower Constellations present interesting dynamical features that al- low us to explore a wide range of potential applications. Their particular initial distribution (lattice) and their symmetries disappear when some perturbations are considered, such as the J2 effect. The new lattice-preserving Flower Constella- tions maintain over long periods of time the initial distribution and its symmetries under the J2 perturbation, which is known as relative station-keeping. This paper deals with the study of the required velocity change that must be applied to the satellites of the constellation to have an absolute station-keeping

Corrections on repeating ground-track orbits and their applications in satellite constellation design

    Get PDF
The aim of the constellation design model shown in this paper is to generate constellations whose satellites share the same ground-track in a given time, making all the satellites pass over the same points of the Earth surface. The model takes into account a series of orbital perturbations such as the gravitational potential of the Earth, the atmospheric drag, the Sun and the Moon as disturbing third bodies or the solar radiation pressure. It also includes a new numerical method that improves the repeating ground-track property of any given satellite subjected to these perturbations. Moreover, the whole model allows to design constellations with multiple tracks that can be distributed in a minimum number of inertial orbits

Optimizing Flower Constellations for Global Coverage

    Get PDF
In this paper, the GDOP-optimal Flower Constellations using evolutionary methods, for a given number of satellites, or more generally, for a given set of Flower Constellation parameters is obtained. As a measure of optimality we use the maximum value of the GDOP over a large number of uniformly distributed points on the Earth during the time needed for the constellation to return to its initial pattern. The search space constellations includes eccentric orbit

    2D Necklace Flower Constellations

The 2D Necklace Flower Constellation theory is a new design framework based on the 2D Lattice Flower Constellations that allows to expand the possibilities of design while maintaining the number of satellites in the configuration. The methodology presented is a generalization of the 2D Lattice design, where the concept of necklace is introduced in the formulation. This allows to assess the problem of building a constellation in orbit, or the study of the reconfiguration possibilities in a constellation. Moreover, this work includes three counting theorems that allow to know beforehand the number of possible configurations that the theory can provide. This new formulation is especially suited for design and optimization techniques

Analysis of the evolution of space debris through a synthetic population

    Get PDF
Space debris are all man-made objects orbiting the Earth which no longer serve a useful function. Space debris have increased substantially in the last decades and can be counted in millions. This paper deals with the idea of the creation of a synthetic population of space debris, which preserves as accurate as possible the characteristics of the real one. All the individuals of the synthetic population will be propagated by powerful numerical integrators, becoming into an excellent tool for global predictions or simulations, useful for the future ADR actions, and for the location of parking orbits
