Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli selvittää haitallisten aineiden määrä Merivaara Oyn tuotteissa. RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) -direktiivi eli Euroopan unionin haitallisten aineiden määrää rajoittava direktiivi on asettanut uudet rajat tiettyjen aineiden sallituille enimmäisarvoille tuotteissa. RoHS-direktiivi koskee vain sähköisiä tuotteita. Opinnäytetyön toimeksiantaja on Merivaara Oy. Merivaara Oy on suomalainen sairaalahuonekaluja valmistava yritys. The objective of this study was to evaluate the amount of hazardous substances in the products of a company. Analytical study of the thermal behaviour and stability of a small satellite

In this work the thermal analysis of a small satellite orbiting around the Earth has been approached by direct integration of the heat balance equations of a two-node reduced model, obtaining a linearized second order ODE problem, similar in form to the classical case of the forced vibration of a damped system. As the thermal loads (solar radiation, albedo, etc.) are harmonic, the problem is solved by means of Fourier analysis methods. Research on that field can be directly applied to the analysis of thermal problems and the results obtained are satisfactory. Working on the frequency domain streamlines the analysis, simplifies the study and facilitates the experimental testing. The transfer functions are obtained for the two-node case but the study can be extended to an n-node model

[EN] The object of study of this research is the not built residential project designed by Le Corbusier in 1942 for a farm near Cherchell, Algeria. From the drawings that constitute the existing graphic documentation of this proposal, this study based its interest in describing the project as an open process of architectural reflection on the idea of the house within a bounded enclosure. A detailed analysis of the different mechanisms and project themes used by the architect through the developing of new interpretive drawings of the original documentation. In this way the invariants and different versions that built the development of the proposal are present. Finally we conclude with a critical synthesis where we relate the architectural areas studied with similar solutions from Le Corbusier works and paradigmatic examples of the architectural scene.[ES] El objeto de estudio de esta investigación es el proyecto residencial no construido que realiza Le Corbusier en 1942 para una explotación agrícola cerca de Cherchell, Argelia.
Abstract

Background

Social support is an important factor in the adaptation process of immigrants, helping for their integration in a new environment. The lack of social support may influence on well-being and health status. The aim of this study is to describe the social support of immigrant and native population and study the possible association between immigration and lack social support after adjusting for sociodemographic factors, income, stress and self-reported health status.

Methods

Cross-sectional population based study of immigrants and national patients without mental disorders of 15 urban primary health centers in the north-eastern area of Madrid. Participants provided information on social support, stress level, perceived health status and socio-economic characteristics. Descriptive and multiple logistic regression were conducted.

Results

The proportion of the global perception of social support among immigrants and natives was 79.2% and 94.2%, respectively. The lack of global social support adjusted prevalence ratio (PR) of immigrant was 2.72 (95% Confidence Interval = 1.81-4.09), showing a significant association with being male (PR = 2.26), having monthly income below 500 euros (PR = 3.81) and suffering stress (PR = 1.94). For the dimensions of lack of social support the higher association was being an immigrant and suffering stress.

Conclusions

We conclude that with regardless of the level of monthly income, stress level, self-reported health status, and gender, immigrant status is directly associated with lack social support. The variable most strongly associated with lack social support has been monthly income below 500 euros.</p

This study was designed to investigate the efficacy and safety of levofloxacin. Methods: An open-label, prospective, multicenter, randomized study was conducted to compare the efficacy and safety of levofloxacin (500 mg q24h for 9 months) initiated in patients awaiting liver transplantation and isoniazid (300 mg q24h for 9 months) initiated post-transplant when liver function was stabilized. Efficacy was measured by tuberculosis incidence at 18 months after transplantation. All adverse events related to the medication were recorded. Results: CONSORT guidelines were followed in order to present the results. The safety committee suspended the study through a safety analysis when 64 patients had been included (31 in the isoniazid arm and 33 in the levofloxacin arm). The reason for suspension was an unexpected incidence of severe tenosynovitis in the levofloxacin arm (18.2%). Although the clinical course was favorable in all cases, tenosynovitis persisted for 7 weeks in some patients. No patients treated with isoniazid, developed tenosynovitis. Only 32.2% of patients randomized to isoniazid (10/31) and 54.5% of patients randomized to levofloxacin (18/33, P = .094) completed prophylaxis. No patient developed tuberculosis during the study follow-up (median 270 days). Conclusions: Levofloxacin prophylaxis of tuberculosis in liver transplant candidates is associated with a high incidence of tenosynovitis that limits its potential utility.Ayudas para el fomento de la investigación clínica independiente [EC 10-120]Programa Intramural Consorcio de Apoyo a la Investigación Biomédica en Red 2010National R&D&I Plan 2008–2011Instituto de Salud Carlos III (ISCIII)Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad RD06/0008, RD12/0015European Development Regional Fun

Trabajo presentado en la 7ª ed. del congreso internacional "FEMS" organizado por la Sociedad Española de Microbiología y la Federación Europea de Sociedades Microbiológicas en el Centro de Convenciones Feria Valencia (Valencia, España) durante los días 9 al 13 de julio de 2017.BACKGROUNDS: Chitooligosaccharides (COS) are β-(1,4)-linked oligomers of N-acetyl-glucosamine (GlcNAc) and glucosamine (GlcN) formed by chemical or enzymatic hydrolysis of chitosan or chitin. The growing biotechnological interest of COS in fields such as food or health increases the demand of the producing enzymes as well as their characterization and functional improvement. | OBJETIVES: Express a chitinase of 42 kDa from Trichoderma harzianum in a heterologous system, obtain protein levels compatible with its crystallization for the future protein structural resolution and evaluate the ability of the recombinant protein to produce COS. | METHODS: The chitinase gene cDNA from T. harzianum was expressed in Pichia pastoris using a restriction-free cloning strategy, production of heterologous protein was analysed and escalated up to a 5 L fermenter level. Recombinant protein was purified and some crystals were obtained which allows undertake the protein structural resolution. Synthesis of oligosaccharides from different substrates were evaluated and optimized using the recombinant enzyme. HPAEC-PAD on a Dionex ICS3000 system and Mass Spectrometry were used in the reaction studies and product characterization. | CONCLUSIONS: A chitinase of 42 kDa from T. harzianum was overexpressed in P. pastoris, the recombinant protein was purified, characterized and crystallized for the protein structural resolution. Production of COS mediated by this enzyme was evaluated and some of the molecules formed were characterized.N
