    Get PDF
Information is a basic resource for the decision making. For this, the organizations use information systems which give this basic resource. An information system is a means through which data flow inside a company, from a worker or department to other workers or departments. This may occur everywhere, from the organizations`s internal communication to computerized systems that generate periodical reports for varied users. In the present work, we center on the information systems from a marketing perspective. The methodology of this paper is based on a qualitative research approach. This article reviews relevant marketing information system models presented historically in the academic literature. The information systems most commonly examined are the Marketing Information System (MIS) and the Marketing Decision Support System (MDSS). We have observed that there is some confusion in the literature regarding these information systems. Hence, we have aimed to give an integrative viewpoint and we have proposed a hybrid and global systemLa información es un recurso imprescindible en la toma de decisiones de las organizaciones.

This paper presents the results of a qualitative research study in the Principality of Asturias on current sharing of domestic tasks in Asturian families. Using focus groups, we show men and women's attitudes, preferences, and beliefs about family shared responsibilities. We also analyze to what extent those attitudes are influenced by gender stereotypes. Although we do not present exhaustively all the findings of the research, we discuss specific conclusions about negotiation and exchange processes that dominate the sharing of domestic labor

Bullying is a relationship in which an individual, or a group of individuals, intentionally and repeatedly perpetrates aggressive behaviors towards someone unable to defend himself/herself. Traditional forms of bullying consist of physical, verbal and covert forms of aggressive behaviors. Recently, the new phenomenon of cyberbullying has emerged. This relatively new form of bullying is defined as a behavior displayed through electronic or digital media. Multiple variables have been related to bullying victimization including perceived emotional intelligence (PEI) and optimism. Both variables have implications on the manner in which people cope with stressful experiences as could be bullying, which in turn could affect the level of perceived health. However, there are no studies that have considered all these variables simultaneously. Therefore, the aim of the current study was to examine, via structural equation modelling, the independent contribution of EI and optimism on bullying victimization and perceived physical health in adolescents. A total of 650 secondary school students (317 boys and 333 girls, with ages ranged from 11 to 18) participated in the study. The participants completed measures of PIE (TMMS-24; Fernández-Berrocal et al., 2004), optimism (General Mood Subscale of the Emotional Quotient Inventory-Youth Version; Bar-On and Parker, 2000), bullying (School Victimization Scale; Cava et al., 2010), cyberbullying (Cyber-Victimization Scale; Buelga et al., 2012), and physical health (KIDSCREEN-10 Index; Raven-Sieberer et al., 2004). Results gave partial empirical support to the hypothesized model, and shows significant relationships between the variables: optimism on clarity and repair dimensions of IE (but not on the attention subscale), optimism and attention (but not clarity and repair dimensions) on bullying, and bullying on health. Together these findings shed light on those factors that should be considered when developing prophylactic strategies within adolescents to become more resilient to the adverse effects of bullying behavior.Universidad de Málaga. Piezochromic properties of pyridil divinyl anthracene derivatives: a joint Raman and DFT study

    Get PDF
Piezochromic materials, which show color changes resulting from external pressure or mechanical grinding, are of great interest from a scientific viewpoint owing to their potential applications as pressure-sensing and optical-recording systems.[1] It has been recently discovered solid-state fluorescence properties and piezochromic luminescence in a family of 9,10-Bis((E)-n-(pyrid-2-yl)vinyl)anthracene, BPnVA (n=2 orto-,3 metha- and 4 para-) compounds, see Figure 1.[2] The crystal structures indicate that the three compounds with varying position of the nitrogen on the external pyridyl exhibit different molecular packing modes. In this work, we aim at providing further insight into the interplay played by the molecular and supramolecular structural changes and the luminescence changes observed under pressure by using a combined experimental-theoretical approach that links Raman spectroscopy with DFT calculations.Universidad de Málaga. Π-conjugated materials have been studied for decades due to their great interest in organic electronics. Among them, piezochromic materials, which exhibit color changes resulting from external pressure or mechanical grinding, become very attractive from a scientific viewpoint owing to their potential applications as pressure-sensing and opticalrecording systems1. The main target of the present work is to develop a joint experimental and theoretical approach able to deliver crucial information for the understanding of the structural effects causing piezochromic changes. To this end, we will focus our attention on two families of -conjugated materials with potential application as sensors. The first one is a family of 9,10-Bis((E)-n(pyrid-2-yl)vinyl) anthracene, BPnVA (n=2 orto-,3 metha- and 4 para-) compounds, see Figure 1. Interestingly, these three compounds with varying position of the nitrogen on the external pyridyl group exhibit different molecular packing modes. Grinding and the application of external pressure on the powder also led to a strong change in their photoluminescence color.2 The second familiy is based on the N,N’-Bis-Boc-3,3’-di(pyren-1yl)-2,2’-biindole compound (compound 1c in Figure 1) which also shows photoluminescence under pressure application. However, the molecular packing induced by this phenomenon is still under study 3. In both cases, it will be also very interesting to determine how temperature affects the vibrational structure of these systems.Universidad de Málaga. Tuning of the electronic levels of oligothiophene-naphthalimide semiconductors: in the search of ambipolar behaviour

Ambipolar organic field-effect transistors (OFETs), which can efficiently transport both holes and electrons, using a single type of electrode, are currently of great interest due to their possible applications in complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS)-like circuits, sensors, and in light-emitting transistors. Several theoretical and experimental studies have argued that most organic semiconductors should be able to transport both types of carrier, although typically unipolar behavior is observed. One factor that can compromise ambipolar transport in organic semiconductors is poor solid state overlap between the HOMO (p-type) or LUMO (n-type) orbitals of neighboring molecules in the semiconductor thin film. In the search of low-bandgap ambipolar materials, where the absence of skeletal distortions allows closer intermolecular π-π stacking and enhanced intramolecular π-conjugation, a new family of oligothiophene-naphthalimide assemblies have been synthesized and characterized, in which both donor and acceptor moieties are directly conjugated through rigid linkers. In previous works we found that oligothiophene-napthalimide assemblies connected through amidine linkers (NDI derivates) exhibit skeletal distortions (50-60º) arising from steric hindrance between the carbonyl group of the arylene core and the sulphur atom of the neighbored thiophene ring. In the present work we report novel oligo- and polythiophene–naphthalimide analogues NAI-3T, NAI-5T and poly-NAI-8C-3T, in which the connections of the amidine linkage have been inverted in order to prevent steric interactions. Thus, the nitrogen atoms are directly connected to the naphthalene moiety in NAI derivatives while they were attached directly to the thiophene moiety in the previously investigated NDI-3T and NDI-5T. The calculated molecular structure of NAI-3T together shows how the steric interactions are not present in the novel NAI derivative. The planar skeletons in these new family induce higher degree of crystallinity and the carrier charge transport can be switched from n-type to ambipolar behaviour. The highest FET performance is achieved for vapor-deposited films of NAI-3T with mobilities of 1.95x10-4cm2V-1s-1 and 2.00x10-4cm2V-1s-1 for electrons and holes, respectively. Finally, these planar semiconductors are compared with their NDI derivates analogues, which exhibit only n-type mobility, in order to understand the origin of the ambipolarity in this new series of molecular semiconductors.Universidad de Málaga. Background: Chronic shoulder pain is a very prevalent condition causing disability and functional impairment. The purpose of the study was to evaluate the relationship between pain intensity, physical variables, psychological vulnerability, pronociceptive pain modulation profile and disability in older people with chronic shoulder pain. Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out. A total of 56 participants with non-specific chronic shoulder pain of the “Complejo Hospitalario Universitario” (Granada) and 56 healthy controls were included. The outcomes evaluated were pain intensity (visual analogue scale), physical factors (dynamometry for grip strength), psychological vulnerability (Fear-Avoidance Beliefs Questionnaire and Tampa Scale of Kinesiophobia), pronociceptive pain modulation profile (pain pressure algometry) and disability (Quick Disability Arm Shoulder Hand questionnaire). Results: Disability showed a positive correlation with pain and psychological vulnerability (p < 0.05) and a negative correlation with pronociceptive pain variables and dynamometry (p < 0.001). Psychological vulnerability also presented a strong negative correlation with proprioceptive pain variables and dynamometry and a positive correlation with pain (p < 0.05). In regard to the pronociceptive pain modulation profile, a strong negative correlation with pain (p < 0.001) and a positive moderate correlation with dynamometry (p < 0.001) were shown. Conclusions: Our results support a strong association between disability, psychological vulnerability and pronociceptive pain modulation profile in older adults with chronic shoulder pain.German Research Foundation (DFG) FPU: 20/2167
