The Drivers of Continuance Intention of Online Shopping of Clothes in Angola

Dissertation presented as the partial requirement for obtaining a Master's degree in Information Management, specialization in Knowledge Management and Business IntelligenceThe increasing number of shoppers who buy clothes online raises the interest in understanding what promotes their continuance of buying in this channel. This study seeks to understand what the drivers of usage continuance intention of online clothes shopping are. The proposed research model is based on the expectation confirmation model (ECM), by adding the enjoyment construct and the trust as moderator effect. An online survey with 233 respondents in Angola was conducted and the data were analyzed with the partial least squares (PLS). The results indicate that satisfaction and enjoyment are the fundamental predictors of continuance intention and that it is also indirectly influenced by confirmation and perceived usefulness. The model explains 54.9% of the variation in continuance intention. With the findings of this study, online stores of clothing have a better understanding of their customers

Sentimentos de Paranóia e de Vergonha nos Sem-Abrigo

A população “sem-abrigo” e todos os problemas envolventes, como a pobreza e a exclusão social apresentam uma complexidade cada vez mais inquietante e preocupante na nossa sociedade. O fenómeno multifacetado dos sem-abrigo constitui um grave problema social. A pertinência deste estudo prende-se com a escassez de investigação relativa à população sem-abrigo e perceber melhor a sua complexidade, nomeadamente no que respeita à caracterização psicológica dos indivíduos sem-abrigo. Neste sentido, o presente estudo tem como objectivo conhecer melhor esta população através da recolha de informação relativa aos seus receios, valores, prazeres, percepção do motivo da sua situação, consumo de substâncias psicotrópicas, contacto com a família e amigos. Paralelamente pretendemos avaliar os sentimentos de vergonha (em função de experiências negativas precoces), de paranóia e emoções negativas (depressão, ansiedade e stress) nesta população específica e analisar a relação entre estas variáveis. A amostra é constituída por 56 sujeitos na condição de sem-abrigo, com uma média de idade de 40,86 e de 7 anos de escolaridade, sendo a maioria (n=49) do sexo masculino. O protocolo de avaliação, para além do questionário psicossocial desenvolvido para o efeito, incluía ainda escalas para medir a Depressão, Ansiedade e Stress (DASS-21), Vergonha Externa (OAS), Vergonha Interna (ISS) e Paranóia (GPS). Os dados do nosso estudo permitiram pôr em evidência algumas das dificuldades mais significativas dos sem-abrigo, nomeadamente, as rupturas dos laços familiares, o desemprego e a toxicodependência entre outros. Constatámos que os sem-abrigo da nossa amostra apresentam valores médios mais elevados de paranóia, vergonha externa e interna, quando comparados com os valores da população normal. Verifica-se ainda que quando mais escolarizada é a nossa amostra, menor sintomatologia depressiva e relacionada com o stress apresenta. Encontrámos correlações significativas positivas e moderadas entre as variáveis em estudo. Dada a escassez de investigação em indivíduos sem-abrigo, e apesar das limitações inerentes a este estudo, esperamos ter dado um contributo para alargar o conhecimento deste complexo fenómeno, nomeadamente no que respeita à caracterização psicológica destes indivíduos. / The homeless population and all the related issues such as poverty and social exclusion are a complex and increasingly worrying concern of our society. The multifaceted phenomenon of homelessness is a serious social problem. The relevance of this study relates to the scarcity of research on the homeless population and to better understand its complexity, particularly the psychological characteristics of the homeless individuals. As such, this study aims to better understand this population by collecting information on their fears, values, pleasures, perception of the reason for their situation, consumption of psychotropic substances, contact with family and friends. Simultaneously we intend to evaluate the feelings of shame (due to early negative experiences), paranoia and negative emotions (depression, anxiety and stress) in this specific population as well as analyse the relationship between these variables. The study sample is based on 56 individuals in the condition of homelessness, mostly male (n = 49), with an average age of 40.86 and 7 years of schooling. In addition to the psychological questionnaire developed for this purpose, the evaluation protocol also included scales to measure Depression, Anxiety and Stress (DASS-21), External Shame (OAS), Internal Shame (ISS) and Paranoia (GPS). The data in our study allowed to highlight some of the most significant problems of homelessness, including disruption of family ties, unemployment, drug abuse and others. We learnt that the homeless in our sample have a higher average number of paranoia, internal and external shame, when compared to the normal population. We have also found that the more educated our sample is, the less are the depressive symptoms and stress-related features. Among the studied variables, we have found significant positive and moderate correlations. Given the scarcity of research on homeless individuals and despite the limitations of this study, we hope to have contributed to increase the knowledge on this complex phenomenon, especially concerning the psychological characterization of these individuals

Three cases of feet and hand amputation from Medieval Estremoz, Portugal

Peri-mortem limb amputations are rarely reported in the paleopathological literature. The cases reported here concern severing of both hands and feet observed in three adult male skeletons, exhumed from the medieval Portuguese necropolis of Rossio do Marquês de Pombal, Estremoz, Portugal. The fact that they were found in the same site, in graves placed side by side, that all are young males, and that the three skeletons show similar perimortem injuries, make this a unique case meriting detailed analysis. Considering the lesions’ location and pattern, as well as historical data, we hypothesize that this is a case of amputation as a consequence of judicial punishment. Estremoz was an important city in sustaining the Royal power at a regional scale during the medieval period

Cessão da posição contratual em caso de incumprimento do cocontratante : uma reflexão

O presente estudo é dedicado à procura de uma alternativa aos mecanismos legais comuns de reação ao incumprimento do cocontratante, que assegure a efetiva execução das prestações contratualizadas, ainda que por intermédio de diferente cocontratante, em nome do interesse público e sem necessidade de promover novo procedimento concursal. Propõe-se uma reflexão sobre o aditado artigo 318º-A, na revisão do Código dos Contratos Públicos, promovida pelo Decreto-Lei nº 111-B/2017, de 31 de agosto. Esta revisão era muito aguardada, não apenas face às novas diretivas europeias de 2014, que careciam de transposição, mas particularmente para se perceber qual seria a opção do legislador nacional face à inovadora regulamentação da execução dos contratos e, em especial, das modificações admitidas nos contratos sem necessidade de promover novo procedimento concursal. Destacando o mecanismo escolhido pelo legislador nacional - cessão da posição contratual imposta pelo contraente público, com substituição do contraente incumpridor pelo concorrente com a proposta ordenada em lugar subsequente no procedimento concursal que formou o contrato incumprido -, pretende-se enunciar os problemas de aplicação prática e clarificar o âmbito, regime e limites da figura positivada, em comparação com a disciplina fixada na Diretiva 2014/24/EU, em especial com o artigo 72º. Não se deixa de observar a figura, integrada num contexto de transmissão de um contrato, distinta da figura da novação. Analisando os conceitos de modificações não substanciais e modificações substanciais (admissíveis e não admissíveis) à luz da vasta jurisprudência europeia, aplicados ao direito interno, pretende-se defender a simultânea autorização de modificação subjetiva e modificação objetiva quando se recorre à figura da cessão da posição contratual em caso de incumprimento do cocontratante, enquadrada nos limites estabelecidos pelo legislador comunitário. Conclui-se que a solução de direito interno é pouco satisfatória e introduz dificuldades que deveriam ter sido acauteladas, tendo sido preferível a transposição do artigo 72º da Diretiva Contratos.The present study is dedicated to the search for an alternative to the common legal mechanisms of reaction to the non-compliance of the contracting party, which ensures the effective execution of the contracted services, albeit through a different co-fulfilment, in the name of the public interest and without the need to promote new procurement proceedings. It is proposed a reflection on the added article 318º-A in the revision of the Public Contracts Code, promoted by Decree-Law no. 111-B / 2017, of August 31. This revision was long awaited, not only in the face of the new European directives of 2014, which had to be transposed, but particularly in order to understand what the national legislator would have in view of the innovative rules governing the execution of contracts and, in particular, without the need to promote new procurement proceedings. Emphasizing the mechanism chosen by the national legislator - cession of the contractual position imposed by the public contractor, with the substitution of the defaulting contractor by the concurrent with the proposal ordered due to the insolvency proceedings that formed the contract failed - is intended to state the problems of practical application, and clarify the scope, scheme and limits of the positive figure compared to the discipline set out in Directive 2014/24 / EU, in particular with the Article 72º. The figure, integrated in a context of transmission of a contract, distinct from the figure of the novation, will not be left to be observed. In analyzing the concepts of non-substantial changes and substantial changes (admissible and inadmissible) in the light of the wide european jurisprudence, applied to domestic law, the intention is to defend the simultaneous authorization of subjective modification and objective modification, when using the figure of the assignment of the contractual position in the event of non-compliance by the contracting party within the limits set by the Community legislator. It is concluded that the solution of domestic law is unsatisfactory and introduces difficulties which should have been taken care of, and that the transposition of Article 72º of the Contracts Directive would have been preferable

Caracterização de uma câmara de tomografia por emissão de positrões, segundo as Normas NEMA NU2

A avaliação dos parâmetros de desempenho de um equipamento é vital para demonstrar que este atende às características especificadas pelo fabricante e está adequado para estudos clínicos. Este trabalho teve como principal objectivo avaliar e analisar os principais parâmetros de desempenho de um tomógrafo PET/CT da Philips Gemini GXL, instalado no Instituto de Ciências Nucleares Aplicadas à Saúde (ICNAS), nomeadamente a resolução energética, a resolução espacial, a sensibilidade, a fração de dispersão, as taxas de contagem e a qualidade de imagem (contraste). Os referidos parâmetros de desempenho foram aferidos de acordo com as normas NEMA NU2, versão de 2001. Constatou-se que a resolução espacial a 1cm é de 5,59 mm, superior ao valor de 5,1 mm especificado pelo fabricante. Verificou-se que a fração de dispersão medida de 39,32% se encontra 9,4% acima do valor de 35% documentado pelo fabricante. Relativamente à sensibilidade ao centro, o valor aferido de 5314 cps/MBq ao centro é 21,7% superior ao divulgado pelo fabricante (4365 cps/MBq). O valor do contraste identificado em todas as esferas é sempre inferior aos valores reportados. Por último, não foi possível medir o pico de NECR, devido à baixa atividade na fonte à hora do início do teste. No entanto, o valor de NECR medido é ligeiramente mais baixo, cerca de 60 Kcps para uma concentração de atividade de 11 kBq/cc, relativamente às especificações publicadas para a mesma concentração que é de 70 Kcps. Verificou-se assim que os valores obtidos dos parâmetros avaliados aproximam-se dos publicados pelo fabricante. Não obstante, a aquisição dos dados em list mode para posterior determinação dos parâmetros, segundo as formulas apresentadas nas normas NEMA, será um futuro trabalho possível

A parede-ecrã digital wallpaper design

Neste estudo propusemos-mos analisar a possibilidade de um ecrã ser incorporado numa parede, para servir como elemento decorativo da casa. Tendo por base uma prática bastante utilizada por grande parte dos utilizadores, como o acesso a qualquer conteúdo através de tecnologia háptica, percebemos que, lentamente, somos cada vez mais absorvidos pelo mundo digital. Então, entendemos que se podem direcionar as interfaces para um outro campo (sem ser o de receber mensagens, telefonar, navegar na internet), utilizando-as num contexto de décor para o nosso lar. Podemos, assim, personalizar o “wallpaper” (N.A.: “papel de parede”) do nosso quarto com a projeção de uma imagem estática ou dinâmica, potenciando a liberdade e criatividade na decoração dos espaços interiores. Foi neste sentido que optámos por analisar a evolução do ecrã, os contextos em que este é utilizado e o comportamento do utilizador perante este suporte. Tentámos perceber se, este cenário digital, poderá ter impacto na sociedade, estudando vários meios tecnológicos, que já possibilitam essa Realidade Virtual. Em paralelo, recorremos a interfaces de filmes de ficção científica, para nos auxiliarem na explanação visual do tema aqui proposto.In this study we proposed to investigate the possibility of a screen to be merged into a wall, serving as ornamentation of the house. Based on a practice widely used by most users, as access to any content through haptic technology, we recognise that, slowly, we are progressively engaged into the digital world. Therefore, we understand that we can direct interfaces to another field (beyond receiving messages, calls or browsing the internet), using them in a context of décor for our home. We can, thus, customize our room wallpaper with the projection of a static, or dynamic, image, enhancing the freedom and creativity in the decoration of the interior spaces. This was why we chose to analyse the evolution of the screen, the contexts in which it is used and the user’s behaviour with this support. We tried to comprehend whether this digital scenario could have an impact on society, by studying several technological means, which already provide this Virtual Reality. In parallel, we use the interfaces of science fiction films to assist us in the visual explanation of the theme here proposed

Taas – ticketing as a service

The goal of this research work is to introduce the concept of a lower cost flexible system for ticketing purposes implemented on a cloud platform. We propose therefore the evolution of the traditional architecture of ticketing for a cloud based architecture in which the core processes of ticketing are offered through a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) business model, which can be subscribed by operators that pay-per-use. Ticketing terminal equipment (e.g. gates, validators, vending machines) are integrated in the cloud environment. This approach is achieved by moving business logic from terminals to the cloud. Each terminal is registered to be managed by each own operator, configuring a multi-tenant implementation which is vendor hardware independent, allowing to address elasticity and interoperability issues. The elasticity of the cloud will support the expansion/implosion of small (transport) operators business around electronic ticketing. In the near future, this ticketing solution will promote collaboration between transport operators

O enriquecimento do espaço pedagógico à luz de uma abordagem ativa

Relatório de estágio de mestrado em Educação Pré-EscolarNo presente relatório de estágio, desenvolvido no decorrer da prática de ensino supervisionado do Mestrado em Educação Pré-Escolar, é apresentada a intervenção pedagógica realizada no âmbito de duas dimensões pedagógicas - Espaço e Materiais Pedagógicos e Rotina Pedagógica, em contexto de Creche e em contexto de Jardim de Infância. Neste relatório pode-se observar o percurso do projeto de intervenção que se iniciou com a observação do frágil investimento ao nível das dimensões pedagógicas referidas anteriormente e a partir dessas observações se refletiu e delineou estratégias com vista à sua evolução. Nesta linha de pensamento, tanto na Creche como no Jardim de Infância se procedeu ao mesmo percurso, apenas com algumas especificidades caraterísticas de cada valência. Assim, o projeto iniciou-se com a (re) organização do espaço e etiquetagem, em seguida procedeu-se à (re) organização, reapetrechamento e etiquetagem dos materiais, terminando com o trabalho integrado e gradual da inclusão e desenvolvimento do tempo de escolha livre (na creche) e do ciclo planear-fazer-rever (no jardim de infância). Para sustentar esta projeto de intervenção pedagógica recorreu-se à metodologia da Investigação-ação que auxiliou na integração e resposta constante do projeto ao grupo de crianças, havendo um trabalho constante de reflexão-ação-reflexão ao longo de todo o projeto. Por fim, no final deste projeto de intervenção pedagógica é possível concluir que a organização do espaço e dos materiais pedagógicos, bem como um tempo na rotina diária consistente permitiu o desenvolvimento de aprendizagens ativas, o tempo de escolha livre na Creche e o ciclo planear-fazerrever no Jardim de Infância, assumem um papel central para a construção de um ambiente educativo de qualidade e, naturalmente, para o sucesso das crianças. Enfim, o projeto realizado permitiu evidenciar a importância destas dimensões pedagógicas, no processo de construção da aprendizagem das crianças, sendo fortes influenciadoras no seu desenvolvimento.In this internship report , developed in the course of teaching practice supervised, integrated into Preschool Education Master’s Degree , is displayed the pedagogical intervention carried out in two educational dimensions - Space and Pedagogical Materials and Routine Teaching in nursery’s context and in the Kindergarten’s context. As you look into this report, you can follow the route of the intervention’s project that began by observing some of the gaps in the pedagogical dimensions mentioned above, as well as identify a set of strategies to improve the situation. Thus, the Nursery and the Kindergarten held a similar route, with only some specific features of each valence. The project began with the (re) organization of space and its identification. Then, the next step was proceeding to the (re) organization, refurbishment and labeling of the materials. The final step was finishing this project with integrated work and gradual integration, and finally, the development of free choice’s time ( in the nursery ) and the line-up “plan - do – review” ( in kindergarten ) . To support this pedagogical intervention project we used the research’s methodology - action that has helped the integration and constant response of the project to all the participants’ needs, with a constant work of “reflection - action-reflection” throughout the project. At the end of this pedagogical intervention project, it is possible to conclude that the space’s organization and teaching materials as well as a consistent free choice’s time in a daily routine allowed the development of active learning. The time of free choice in the Nursery and the line-up “plan - do – review” in Kindergarten, play a central role in building a quality educational environment and, of course, contribute to the children’s success. The project has allowed us to demonstrate the importance of these pedagogical dimensions when it comes to the children’s learning construction, being powerful influencers of its development
