    Autonomous flying in real-time with RPAS

    [EN] It is proposed to carry out several iterations of the SDLC (Systems Development Life Cycle) in order to develop an artificial intelligence algorithm capable of making decisions in real time in the field of RPAS (Remotely Piloted Aircraft System). It must be able to maintain the integrity and security of the environment, providing autonomy to one or several RPAS that make up a network to fulfil a common mission. Real-time vision and analysis of images obtained from the RPAS will be used for the algorithm to analyse and redirect them appropriately to the RPAS. On the other hand, it must also obtain the telemetry of each one of the RPAS in order to have an image of the positioning of each one of them, adopting the correct actions without endangering any of the RPAS that make up the network

    Scaling and isospin effects in quasielastic lepton-nucleus scattering in the Relativistic Mean Field Approach

    The role of isospin in quasielastic electron scattering and charge-changing neutrino reactions is investigated in the relativistic impulse approximation. We analyze proton and neutron scaling functions making use of various theoretical descriptions for the final-state interactions, focusing on the effects introduced by the presence of strong scalar and vector terms in the relativistic mean field approach. An explanation for the differences observed in the scaling functions evaluated from (e,e)(e,e') and (ν,μ)(\nu,\mu) reactions is provided by invoking the differences in isoscalar and isovector contributions.Comment: 10 pages, 5 figures, submitted to Phys.     Final state interaction effects in neutrino-nucleus quasielastic scattering

    We consider the charged-current quasielastic scattering of muon neutrinos on an Oxygen 16 target, described within a relativistic shell model and, for comparison, the relativistic Fermi gas. Final state interactions are described in the distorted wave impulse approximation, using both a relativistic mean field potential and a relativistic optical potential, with and without imaginary part.     Superscaling analysis of the Coulomb Sum Rule in quasielastic electron-nucleus scattering

    The Coulomb sum rule for inclusive quasielastic electron scattering in 12^{12}C, 40^{40}Ca and 56^{56}Fe is analyzed based on scaling and superscaling properties. Results obtained in the relativistic impulse approximation with various descriptions of the final state interactions are shown. A comparison with experimental data measured at Bates and Saclay is provided. The theoretical description based on strong scalar and vector terms present in the relativistic mean field, which has been shown to reproduce the experimental asymmetric superscaling function, leads to results that are in fair agreement with Bates data while it sizeably overestimates Saclay data. We find that the Coulomb sum rule for a momentum transfer q500q\geq 500 MeV/cMeV/c saturates to a value close to 0.9, being very similar for the three nuclear systems considered. This is in accordance with Bates data, which indicates that these show no significative quenching in the longitudinal response.Comment: 22 pages, 6 figures. To be published in Phys. Lett.

    En este artículo exponemos los resultados de la autopsia de un varón joven que falleció en el hospital por un cuadro de delirium agitado. Es un síndrome caracterizado generalmente por agitación psicomotriz, agresividad y puede producir muerte súbita, en ocasiones durante la aplicación de métodos de contención mecánica por los Cuerpos de Seguridad del Estado o personal sanitario. Está típicamente asociado al consumo de drogas de abuso, como la cocaína. En estos casos, estará incluida en el grupo de muertes en custodia, que es aquella que se produce cuando la víctima se encuentra privada de libertad. Tiene una indudable repercusión médico legal, puesto que se considera prototipo de muerte sospechosa de criminalidad.In this article we present the autopsy of a young man who died in hospital by excited delirium. It is a syndrome characterized by agitation, aggression, acute distress and sudden death. It is typically associated with the use of abuse drugs, as cocaine. It is generally accompanied by a restriction´s methods carried out by securiy forces or hospital staff. It entails that this death can be classified whitin the group of deaths in custody. The death in custody is that death that takes place whe the victim is deprived of freedom. It has a legal repercussion undoubted, since it is considered to be a prototype of death suspected of criminal origin

    A new ornithopod dinosaur from the Santonian of Northern Patagonia (Rincón de los Sauces, Argentina)

    In recent decades, the Argentinian ornithopod record – which includes eight species that have been described – has increased as a result of the discovery of diverse new bone remains from the Upper Cretaceous. The area near the town of Rincón de los Sauces (Neuquén Province) presents rich fossiliferous outcrops that have provided new ornithopod remains. These bones are from two units: the Plottier and Bajo de la Carpa formations. In the latter, several isolated postcranial bones and a partial articulated skeleton (MAU-Pv-CO-596) have been found. The holotype of Mahuidacursor lipanglef gen. et sp. nov. (MAU-Pv-CO-596) comes from the Cerro Overo site (Santonian, Upper Cretaceous). The skeleton preserves elements from the cervical and dorsal series, the pectoral girdle and the right forelimb. It corresponds to a medium-bodied ornithopod with a gracile general appearance. Histological analysis suggests that the specimen was a sexually mature but not fully grown individual. Some distinctive characters present in Mahuidacursor, such as the strongly bowed humeral shaft and the weakly developed deltopectoral crest, are shared with other South American basal ornithopods. A phylogenetic analysis including Mahuidacursor within a large ornithischian dataset was performed. The results show Mahuidacursor to be a basal ornithopod recovered within a polytomy along with Notohypsilophodon and the clade Elasmaria (Talenkauen + Macrogryphosaurus)

    Continental shelf zones influenced by the suspended matter flows coming from Cadiz Bay

    Due to the diversity of environments and hydrodynamics in Cadiz Bay, it is of interest to study the dynamics of sedimentary exchange between the coastal zones and continental shelf. The most abundant clay minerals on the floor of the continental shelf and Cadiz Bay, and in the particulate matter in suspension, are: illite, smectite, kaolinite + chlorite, and the interstratified clay minerals illite-smectite. The average concentration of suspended matter is 6.5 mg/l, the lowest (1.37 mg/l) being found on the inner shelf and in the inner zones of the bay less affected by currents and surge. The highest values (14 mg/l) are found in the outer bay, consistent with the distribution of muddy facies on the sea floor. The flow paths have been established from the local variations in the mineralogical associations found at the sampling stations, and by means of the alignments of the lowest values of the factor loadings at those stations most affected by the flows. The mineralogical similarity of the components of the clay fraction is related to the mixing action undergone by the components of the suspended matter reaching the bay from various sources, probably produced by the continuous action of the tidal ebb currents flowing from the inner sectors of the bay towards the continental shelf.El estudio de la dinámica de intercambio sedimentario entre las zonas litorales y la plataforma continental es de gran interés en el caso de la bahía de Cádiz, debido a su diversidad de ambientes y situaciones hidrodinámicas. Los minerales de la arcilla más abundantes en los fondos de la plataforma y la bahía, y en la materia en suspensión, son ilita, esmectita, caolinita + clorita e interestratificados ilita-esmectita. La concentración de materia sólida en suspensión indica un contenido promedio de 6,5 mg/l, apareciendo los mínimos (1,37 mg/l) en la plataforma interna y en zonas internas de la bahía no afectadas por corrientes y oleaje. Los valores más altos se dan en la bahía externa (14 mg/l), de acuerdo con la distribución de facies fangosas en el fondo. Las trayectorias de los flujos salientes se han establecido a partir de las variaciones locales de las asociaciones mineralógicas en las diferentes estaciones de muestreo, alineándose los valores más bajos de los factores en las estaciones más afectadas por la acción de los flujos. La similitud mineralógica de los componentes de la fracción arcilla en todos los ambientes se debe a la mezcla de componentes de la materia en suspensión que, desde diferentes fuentes, llegan a la bahía, y es favorecida por la acción de la corriente de reflujo mareal desde el sector más interno de la bahía a la plataforma continental.Instituto Español de Oceanografí

    Nuclear transparencies in relativistic A(e,e'p) models

    Relativistic and unfactorized calculations for the nuclear transparency extracted from exclusive A(e,e'p) reactions for 0.3 \leq Q^2 \leq 10 (GeV/c)^2 are presented for the target nuclei C, Si, Fe and Pb. For Q^2 \geq 0.6 (GeV/c)^2, the transparency results are computed within the framework of the recently developed relativistic multiple-scattering Glauber approximation (RMSGA). The target-mass and Q^2 dependence of the RMSGA predictions are compared with relativistic distorted-wave impulse approximation (RDWIA) calculations. Despite the very different model assumptions underlying the treatment of the final-state interactions in the RMSGA and RDWIA frameworks, they predict comparable nuclear transparencies for kinematic regimes where both models are applicable.Comment: 15 pages, 4 figure

    New cytogenetic prognostic markers in breast cancer

    Abstract BACKGROUND: The aim of this study was to identify chromosomal imbalances in a series of invasive ductal carcinomas. In order to characterize the prognostic value of the chromosomal aberrations, we determined the association between genetic changes, overall survival, recurrences and some well-known prognostic and diagnostic parameters. MATERIAL AND METHODS: We included in this study 70 ductal invasive carcinomas diagnosed at the Hospital of Navarra during 1991-1994. We used the Comparative Genomic Hybridization Technique (CGH) for the molecular cytogenetic analysis of formalin-fixed, paraffin embedded specimens. RESULTS: We obtained successful results in 57 out of 70 cases (81.4%). The most frequent recurring findings were DNA gains on 8q, 17q, 1q, 20q, 11q and 6q and losses on 16q, Xp, Xq, 13q, 11q and 8p. In the survival study, gains on 1q and 11q13 were more frequent in patients with recurrence (41.3% vs. 18.5% and 50% vs. 23.7%). Loss of 16q appears as a prognostic factor of good outcome because of its association with good pathological prognostic features: 100% of tumors with this aberration showed overexpression of Bcl-2, and 75% of them were node negative. Besides, 46.7% of the positive cases for the expression of estrogen receptors also showed this imbalance. CONCLUSIONS: The CGH is a useful technique for the study of paraffin embedded tumors. Our results confirm that the cytogenetic aberrations of tumors could be considered as prognostic factors contributing to a better knowledge of tumor outcome
