Experiencias cotidianas de padres con hijos discapacitados

A família é considerada um espaço de aprendizagem que está em constante renovação e enriquecimento, no entanto, quando um dos seus elementos é portador de deficiência, a família assume um papel primordial na reconstrução diária da vida intima e social dos seus membros. Os pais vivem com preocupação constante quem irá cuidar dos seus filhos, porque o envelhecimento é inevitável: logo, estes ficam cada vez mais dependentes, já que os progenitores enfrentam incapacidades físicas para cuidar dos filhos. Este estudo qualitativo tem características fenomenológicas, sendo igualmente exploratório descritivo, e surgiu da seguinte pergunta de partida. “Será que os pais de filhos portadores de deficiência na idade adulta expressam necessidades específicas?”. Com base na metodologia utilizada, a colheita de dados foi efetuada através de entrevista semiestruturada a cinco pais idosos que cuidam dos seus filhos deficientes e que frequentam o Centro de Educação e Formação Profissional Integrada (CEFPI). Dos resultados obtidos salientamos que estes pais vivem em função dos filhos e para os filhos; tal facto está inerente à dependência de cuidados em grau moderado, destacando-se o autocuidado higiene, deambular, vestir e despir. O cuidar dos filhos não é partilhado, cuidam sozinhos dos filhos e sentem-se sós no desempenho do seu papel

Feeding and Feedback in the Inner Kiloparsec of the Active Galaxy NGC2110

We present two-dimensional gaseous kinematics of the inner 1.1 x 1.6kpc^2 of the Seyfert 2 galaxy NGC2110, from optical spectra obtained with the GMOS integral field spectrograph on the Gemini South telescope at a spatial resolution of 100pc. Gas emission is observed over the whole field-of-view, with complex - and frequently double - emission-line profiles. We have identified four components in the emitting gas, according to their velocity dispersion (sigma), which we refer to as: (1) warm gas disk (sigma = 100-220km/s); (2) cold gas disk (sigma = 60-90km/s); (3) nuclear component (sigma = 220-600km/s); and (4) northern cloud (sigma = 60-80km/s). Both the cold and warm disk components are dominated by rotation and have similar gas densities, but the cold gas disk has lower velocity dispersions and reaches higher rotation velocities. We attribute the warm gas disk to a thick gas layer which encompasses the cold disk as observed in some edge-on spiral galaxies. After subtraction of a rotation model from the cold disk velocity field, we observe excess blueshifts of 50km/s in the far side of the galaxy as well as similar excess redshifts in the near side. These residuals can be interpreted as due to nuclear inflow in the cold gas, with an estimated ionized gas mass inflow rate of 2.2 x 10^(-2)Msun/yr. We have also subtracted a rotating model from the warm disk velocity field and found excess blueshifts of 100km/s to the SW of the nucleus and excess redshifts of 40km/s to the NE, which we attribute to gas disturbed by an interaction with a nuclear spherical outflow. This nuclear outflow is the origin of the nuclear component observed within the inner 300pc and it has a mass outflow rate of 0.9Msun/yr. In a region between 1" and 4" north of the nucleus we find a new low sigma component of ionized gas which we attribute to a high latitude cloud photoionized by the nuclear source.Comment: 17 pages, 13 figures, 1 table; accepted for publication in MNRA

Estudo das características de avanço e infiltração da água em sulcos, em um Latossolo Vermelho-Escuro alico, com aplicação de água contínua e intermitente.

Conduziu-se uma pesquisa com a finalidade de estudar as caracteristicas de avanco e infiltracao da agua em sulcos com aplicacao de agua continua e intermitente. Foram testadas as vazoes de 0,4, 0,8 e 1,2 1.s-1 e tempos ciclicos de 20, 40 e 60 min com taxa ciclica de 0,5. A velocidade de avanco aumentou, para a vazao de 0,4 1.s-1, nos tres tempos ciclicos, em relacao ao escoamento continuo, e para a vazao de 0,8 1.s-1, nos tempos ciclicos de 40 e 60 min. Entretanto, nao houve diferenca entre os tempos de avanco com irrigacao continua e intermitente para a vazao de 1,2 1.s-1. Os efeitos da irrigacao intermitente foram mais acentuados durante a primeira irrigacao. Os volumes de agua aplicada para conclusao do avanco foram menores no escoamento intermitente com vazao de 0,8 1.s-1 e tempos ciclicos de 40 e 60 min

Tutkitaan Rippikouluoppaan IV sekä Elämä – usko – rukous – Rippikoulusuunnitelman 2001 valossa, kuinka Rippikoulun opettajien oppaissa on hyödynnetty edellä mainittujen linjauksia ja toimintaideoita. Tutkimuksessa tarkastellaan, mitä Rippikouluopas IV sekä Elämä – usko – rukous – Rippikoulusuunnitelma 2001 pitää tärkeänä tavoitteena seksuaalikasvatuksen opetuksessa. Tutkitaan, onko rippikoulun ohjaajan kirjoista löydettävissä sama tavoitesuuntaus, jotka Rippikouluoppaan IV ja Elämä – usko – rukous – Rippikoulusuunnitelma 2001 pitävät sisällään. Rippikouluopas IV nostaa esiin kolme tärkeää asiaa, jotka seksuaalikasvatuksessa erityisesti tulee nostaa esiin. Se opastaa avaamaan käsitteitä, jotta nuori tietää, mitä seksuaalisuutta koskevalla sanalla oikeasti tarkoitetaan. Seksuaalikasvatuksen tulee olla myös foorumi tunteiden käsittelemiselle. Ryhmän tulisi olla turvallinen jokaiselle rippikoululaiselle, jotta jokainen uskaltaisi olla oma itsensä. Kolmantena nostetaan esiin seksuaalisuuden pyhyys. Elämä – usko – rukous – rippikoulusuunnitelma 2001 nostaa esiin kolme koria ja jokaisella oppitunnilla tulisi hyödyntää elämää – uskoa ja rukousta.In this thesis I will study the guidelines of the Confirmation Class Textbook IV (Rippikouluopas IV) and the Confirmation Class Plan 2001, Life - Faith - Prayer (Rippikoulusuunnitelma 2001, Elämä - usko - rukous). I will study if the Confirmation Class Teachers' Handbook emphasizes these guidelines. I will research what the Confirmation Class Textbook IV and the Confirmation Class Plan 2001 consider their main aims in sex education. I will then study if the Teachers' Handbook makes use of the same guiding principles.The Confirmation Class Textbook IV emphasizes three aspects of sex education. Firstly, It points out the importance of analysing concepts as this will help young people to understand the real meaning of vocabulary used in sex education. Secondly, according to the Textbook IV, sex education should be a forum for dealing with emotions. The group should be safe for every con-firmand and encourage them to be themselves. Thirdly, the sacredness of sexuality is empha-sized.The Confirmation Class Plan 2001 emphasizes three different themes. Every Confirmation Class should make use of life, faith and prayer

Genome visualization in space

Phylogeny is an important field to understand evolution and the organization of life. However, most methods depend highly on manual study and analysis, making the construction of phylogeny error prone. Linear Algebra methods are known to be efficient to deal with the semantic relationships between a large number of elements in spaces of high dimensionality. Therefore, they can be useful to help the construction of phylogenetic trees. The ability to visualize the relationships between genomes is crucial in this process. In this paper, a linear algebra method, followed by optimization, is used to generate a visualization of a set of complete genomes. Using the proposed method we were able to visualize the relationships of 64 complete mitochondrial genomes, organized as six different groups, and of 31 complete mitochondrial genomes of mammals, organized as nine different groups. The prespecified groups could be seen clustered together in the visualization, and similar species were represented close together. Besides, there seems to be an evolutionary influence in the organization of the graph
