Notes on genome size in the hybrid Ranunculus x luizetii (Ranunculaceae) and its parents by flow cytometry.- Flow cytometry was used to estimate the nuclear DNA content in the natural hybrid Ranunculus x luizetii and its parents. Our results indicate that the genome size of the hybrid R. x luizetii is closer to R. pyrenaeus than to R. parnassiifolius, providing an evidence of genome downsizing.Notas sobre el tamaño del genoma en el híbrido Ranunculus x luizetii (Ranunculaceae) y sus progenitores mediante citometría de flujo.- Se ha empleado la citometría de flujo para estimar el contenido de ADN nuclear en el híbrido Ranunculus x luizetii y sus progenitores. Child Sexual Abuse and Its Effects on a Young Adult Relationship with a Sexual Partner, Friends, and Community

AbstractIn the United States, child sexual abuse is a significant public health issue, but society lacks awareness and its consequences. Therefore, little is known about the influence of sociodemographic factors on a sexually abused child and the quality of relationships as a young adult. A quantitative cross-sectional study based on the social-ecological model was carried out to assess whether the presence of sexual abuse, age of abuse, frequency of abuse, abusive kindship, race, and sex predict in a sexually abused child inappropriate relationships as a young adult. Logistic regression analyses were conducted using secondary data collected from 1300 children and their families from the Longitudinal Studies of Child Abuse and Neglect participants. Multiple logistic regressions models with dichotomous responses were used to answer research questions. The female sex in a sexually abused child was a significant predictor of inappropriate relationships with a best friend and community as a young adult (p=.000). Consequently, the study findings will cause positive social change by stimulating more studies that improve the quality of the relationships among this population. Furthermore, the results could encourage public health professionals to design and implement effective surveillance programs among young adults at individual, interpersonal, and community levels

Wine tourism: A comparison between La Rioja and the central southeast region of Moldavia

RESUMEN: Este Trabajo Fin de Grado presenta un estudio comparativo de la oferta del turismo enológico de la Comunidad Autónoma La Rioja y el centro y sureste de la República de Moldavia. En primer lugar, se expone el marco teórico del turismo enológico, sus actores, su importancia en el mundo del turismo y el rol económico que tiene en las dos regiones estudiadas. Posteriormente, se analizan las estrategias de promoción de este tipo de turismo tanto a nivel nacional como internacional. En el último apartado se realiza un análisis comparativo sobre el poder de atracción de los dos destinos para el turista enológico. Además, se ofrece una serie de propuestas para mejorar las estrategias de promoción y rendimiento económico.ABSTRACT: This dissertation presents a comparative study of the offer of Wine Tourism in La Rioja and Republic of Moldova. Firstly, the theoretical frame of the wine tourism, its actors, and the importance in the oenological world and its role in the economy of the both studied regions are covered in depth. Subsequently, an analysis of the national and international promotion strategies of Wine Tourism is included. The last section provides with a comparative analysis of the attractiveness of both regions. Also include several proposals to improve Wine promotional strategy and economic performance.Grado en Turism

Diseño y Construcción de un Caldero Pirotubular para Mejorar la formación práctica en la asignatura Operaciones Unitarias de los estudiantes de la Facultad de Ingeniería Industrial de la Universidad Estatal Península de Santa Elena.

En la Universidad Estatal Península de Santa Elena y su carrera de Ingeniería Industrial presenta problemas en las práctica de los estudiantes en ciertas asignaturas de las asignaturas que no cuenta con laboratorio, las materias en mención se limitan a la teoría y se aleja de un análisis técnico y tecnológico de los problemas que puedan tener las industrias que de una u otra manera utilizan por ejemplo materia operaciones unitarias las mismas que en su definición se establecen como un área del proceso. El presente proyecto se basa en el diseño y construcción de una caldera pirotubular destinada a la práctica de los estudiantes de la carrera de Ingeniería Industrial, para obtener un estudio completo del desempeño del equipo, su rendimiento y seguridad, además de realizar las prácticas de las distintas asignaturas que reciben en el pensum académico; lo que se desea implementar es un nuevo modelo de fácil instalación y sea viable para su aplicación, aportando con la formación profesional del estudiante. El diseño de la caldera pirotubular y su posterior construcción debe estar debidamente sustentado y respaldado bajo todos los requerimientos normativos y de código; es decir, realizar estudios de transferencia de energía, resistencia de materiales, los controles y dispositivos de seguridad para el sistema de calderas

RESUMEN: Todos los derechos fundamentales presentan límites. Uno de los límites fundamentales a la libertad de expresión e información es el derecho al honor, a la intimidad y a la propia imagen. El presente trabajo tiene por objetivo analizar la protección jurídica reforzada sobre los derechos al honor, a la intimidad y a la propia imagen de los menores de edad frente a las vulneraciones producidas por los medios de comunicación. La inmadurez del menor y la necesidad de proteger su libre desarrollo de personalidad requiere que se le otorgue una protección especial y reforzada, dándose así a conocer el importante papel que desempeña el Ministerio Fiscal para proteger tales derechos.ABSTRACT: All the fundamental rights have limits. The right to honor, privacy and self-image is one of the fundamental limits to freedom of expression and information. This projectaims to study the reinforced legal protection on the rights to honor, privacy and self-image of minors in the face of violations produced by the media. The immaturity of the minor and the need to protect their free development of personality requires that they be granted special and reinforced protection, thus making known the important role that the Attorney General´s Office plays in protecting such rights.Grado en Derech

Software for the acquisition of the yacht dimensions in an initial stage

[ESP]En el diseño de los yates a vela, una de las fases iniciales del proceso es la obtención de las dimensiones previas de la embarcación. Estas dimensiones se obtienen a través de un arduo trabajo de búsqueda y comparación de embarcaciones similares a la que se pretende diseñar. En las siguientes fases del diseño estas dimensiones pueden ir variando a conveniencia del diseñador. Este proyecto pretende simplificar y agilizar la obtención de estas dimensiones previas, así como facilitar dicho trabajo a usuarios menos expertos. Para conseguir este objetivo, se ha realizado una aplicación informática utilizando una base de datos de 450 embarcaciones. Esta aplicación informática va a permitir al usuario conocer las dimensiones iniciales del yate a vela a partir de la eslora, desplazamiento o el tipo de embarcación que se pretenda diseñar.[ENG]Within sailing yacht design, one of the initial stages of the process is the acquisition of previous dimensions of the vessel. These dimensions are obtained through a difficult work of research and comparison of similar boats with the one which is aimed to design. In subsequent phases of design these dimensions could be modified conveniently by the designer. This Project intends to simplify and accelerate the acquisition of these previous dimensions as well as facilitate such work to less experienced users. In order to achieve this goal, it has been conducted a software using the database of 450 vessels. Overwintering populations of Anabaena, Aphanizomenon and Microcystis as potential inocula for summer blooms

Overwintering cyanobacterial populations of Nostocales and Microcystis were investigated in six freshwater reservoirs in Northwestern Spain during two consecutive winters. Surface sediments hosted 103–105 akinetes mL21 and 102–104 Microcystis colonies mL21. Sediments from deeper areas close to dam accumulated 2-fold (Microcystis) and 11-fold (akinetes) greater concentrations than those at the shallower upstream areas. Anabaena spp. and Microcystis aeruginosa dominated the sediment pool, with minor amounts of akinetes of Aphanizomenon (Aph. flos-aquae, Aph. gracile) and benthic Nostocales (Cylindrospermum, Nostoc and Trichormus). Our study confirms the dual benthic-pelagic overwintering of Anabaena, Aphanizomenon and Microcystis, found in the pelagial at 7.5–9.88C. This study also provides an insight into the little known annual cycle of potential cyanotoxin-producers Aph. gracile and Anabaena circinalis. Our estimates show that: (i) only a small fraction (,1%) of the sediment pool of akinetes and Microcystis was resupended in the bottom water during winter which, however, may be sufficient inocula to build up the summer maxima under realistic in situ growth rates; and (ii) the time required for the development of summer populations is mainly driven by growth rates, and therefore by the environmental conditions faced by the inoculum, with a lower influence (although greater for Microcystis than for Nostocales) of the inoculum sizeSamuel Cirés and Lars Wörmer were supported by a FPU grant from Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación (MICINN, Spain).
