Evaluation of the Warping Model for Analysis of Polystyrene Concrete Slabs with Profiled Steel Sheeting

    Get PDF
In this article the possibility of applying the warping model offered by V. G. Piskunov, A. V. Goryk and V. N. Cherednikov for analyzing polystyrene concrete slabs with profiled steel sheeting is considered. The adequacy of the offered model was verified by comparing the experimental and calculated deflections of the slab. Test specimens of polystyrene concrete slabs with profiled steel sheeting (PCSPSS) were made for experimental studies and then mechanical properties of the slab components – the polystyrene concrete and the profiled steel sheeting – were determined. Then the behaviour of slabs under a load was studied. The calculation of the warping model of PCSPSS was done at the same time. The obtained results have proved the possibility of applying of the offered warping model for analysis of PCSPSS. It is proposed to use the considered model for further study of the stress-strained state of inhomogeneous slabs

This article researches how the Greek lingvoculture represented in onomasticon of the South of Russia. The South Russian anthroponyms, toponyms and pragmatonyms are considered in this article and how they verbalize the most important values and ideological views. It is proved in the article that the key concepts of the Greek lingvoculture such as: “Peace”, “Faith”, “Love”, “Heroism”, “Knowledge”, “Alphabet”, “Power”, “Charismatic person” and “Craft” are highly concentrated in the onomastic lexis of the researched region. The mentioned above concepts due to their specific pragmatic orientation are represented at different extend.peer-reviewe

History of International Relations of Cities of Arkhangelsk Region in 1990s — 2010s: Transition from Social-Humanitarian to Trade-Economic Cooperation

    Get PDF
The article discusses the development of international sister city relations in the 1990s — 2010s using the example of the Arkhangelsk region. The authors provide an overview of existing approaches in historiography to analyzing municipal-level international partnership relations in different regions of Russia and the world. Based on a wide range of sources, including international agreements, federal and regional regulatory acts, and reporting documentation over the past 30 years, the article pays particular attention to the region’s attempts in the 2000s — 2010s to move from exclusively social-humanitarian cooperation to developing economic ties with partner cities and regions. The real impact of sister city relations on the development of external economic ties in the region is analyzed in detail, as well as changes in the share of countries with which partner relations were established in the overall external trade turnover of the Arkhangelsk region. The authors conclude that there is currently no state regulation of the institution of sister city relations at the federal and regional levels. Such a situation creates serious difficulties for further development of this institution of public diplomacy, expanding the external economic activities of Russian regions, and spreading Russia’s “soft power” in the world

Proton polarizability contribution to the hyperfine splitting in muonic hydrogen

The contribution of the proton polarizability to the ground state hyperfine splitting in muonic hydrogen is evaluated on the basis of modern experimental and theoretical results on the proton polarized structure functions. The value of this correction is equal to 4.6(8)\cdot 10^{-4} times the Fermi splitting E_F.Comment: 10 pages (revtex), 5 figure

Lamb Shift in Light Muonic Atoms - Revisited

In connection with recent and proposed experiments, and new theoretical results, my previous calculations of the Lamb shift in muonic hydrogen will be reviewed and compared with other work. In addition, numerical results for muonic deuterium and helium will be presented. Some previously neglected (but very small) effects are included.Comment: 41 pages. This paper has appeared in Annals of Physics, vol. 327, pp 733-763 (2012). The present version has corrected several misprints, and updated some references to take into account new result

Mapping of the immunodominant regions of the NAD-dependent formate dehydrogenase

    Get PDF
AbstractA panel of 4 monoclonal antibodies and 7 polyclonal antisera against NAD-dependent formate dehydrogenase from methylotrophic bacterium Pseudomonas sp. 101 has been obtained. The reactivity of the 37 overlapping proteolytic peptides with the monoclonal antibodies and polyclonal antisera has been studied with ELISA test. The data obtained were interpreted residing on the structural model of the formate dehydrogenase at 3 Å resolution. The immunodominant regions in the formate dehydrogenase molecule and the epitopes for the monoclonal antibodies were elucidated

Nuclear structure corrections in the energy spectra of electronic and muonic deuterium

    Get PDF
The one-loop nuclear structure corrections of order (Z alpha)^5 to the Lamb shift and hyperfine splitting of the deuterium are calculated. The contribution of the deuteron structure effects to the isotope shift (ep)-(ed), (mu p)-(mu d) in the interval (1S - 2S) is obtained on the basis of modern experimental data on the deuteron electromagnetic form factors. The comparison with the similar contributions to the Lamb shift for electronic and muonic hydrogen shows, that the relative contribution due to the nucleus structure increases when passing from the hydrogen to the deuterium.Comment: Talk presented at the Conference "Physics of Fundamental Interactions" of the Nuclear Physics Section of the Physics Department of RAS, ITEP, Moscow, 2-6 December, 2002; 8 pages, REVTE

Proton Zemach radius from measurements of the hyperfine splitting of hydrogen and muonic hydrogen

While measurements of the hyperfine structure of hydrogen-like atoms are traditionally regarded as test of bound-state QED, we assume that theoretical QED predictions are accurate and discuss the information about the electromagnetic structure of protons that could be extracted from the experimental values of the ground state hyperfine splitting in hydrogen and muonic hydrogen. Using recent theoretical results on the proton polarizability effects and the experimental hydrogen hyperfine splitting we obtain for the Zemach radius of the proton the value 1.040(16) fm. We compare it to the various theoretical estimates the uncertainty of which is shown to be larger that 0.016 fm. This point of view gives quite convincing arguments in support of projects to measure the hyperfine splitting of muonic hydrogen.Comment: Submitted to Phys. Rev.

Hyperfine Structure of S-States in Muonic Helium Ion

Corrections of orders alpha^5 and alpha^6 are calculated in the hyperfine splittings of 1S and 2S - energy levels in the ion of muonic helium. The electron vacuum polarization effects, the nuclear structure corrections and recoil corrections are taken into account. The obtained numerical values of the hyperfine splittings -1334.56 meV (1S state), -166.62 meV (2S state) can be considered as a reliable estimate for the comparison with the future experimental data. The hyperfine splitting interval Delta_{12}=(8 Delta E^{hfs}(2S)- Delta E^{hfs}(1S)) = 1.64 meV can be used for the check of quantum electrodynamics.Comment: 14 pages, 5 figure
