OS VECINOS LUSITANOS NA RESTAURAÇÃO PORTUGUESA: UM ESTUDO DAS REDES SOCIAIS NA BUENOS AIRES SEISCENTISTA

    Get PDF

    Get PDF

Chiral Ureas and Thioureas Supported on Polystyrene for Enantioselective Aza-Henry Reaction in Solvent-free conditions

    Get PDF
Producción CientíficaNovel bifunctional ureas and thioureas inmovilized on sulfonylpystyrene have been prepared as recoverable and reusable organocatalysts and used in the stereoselective aza-Henry reaction under solvent-free conditions. The activity and stereoselection of the catalysts are dependent on the length of the tether bringing the active site and the polymer, being the catalyst derived from 1,6-hexane diamine the best one. It has been also demonstrated that the supported catalysts are more effective than the homologous soluble catalysts.Ministerio de Economía, Industria y Competitividad (CTQ 2011-28487)Junta de Castilla y León (programa de apoyo a proyectos de investigación – Ref. Identification of a field isolate of Fasciola hepatica resistant to albendazole and susceptible to triclabendazole

    Get PDF
The experiments described here were designed to characterize the status of susceptibility/resistance to albendazole (ABZ) and triclabendazole (TCBZ) of a Fasciola hepatica isolate (named CEDIVE isolate) recovered from infected sheep (Gualeguay, Argentina) and maintained under laboratory conditions. Two separate clinical efficacy experiments were performed on sheep artificially infected with the CEDIVE isolate. Experiment 1: Sheep were randomly distributed either in an untreated control group or an ABZ (7.5 mg/kg) treated group (n= 4 each). Additionally, the systemic exposure of ABZ metabolites was assessed in those ABZ-treated infected animals. In Experiment 2, an untreated control group and a TCBZ (10 mg/kg) treated group was included (n = 4 each). The fluckicidal efficacy of ABZ and TCBZ was assessed by comparison of the number of flukes recovered from untreated and treated sheep at 15 days post-treatment. The efficacy against the CEDIVE isolate of F. hepatica was 29% (ABZ) and 100% (TCBZ). The plasma drug exposure (expressed as AUC and Cmax) observed in the ABZ treated animals (Experiment 1), was in agreement with data obtained in previous studies, which indicate that the low ABZ efficacy was not related to the quality of the pharmaceutical product and/or to a low systemic availability of the active drug/metabolite. The results reported here, clearly show that the CEDIVE isolate of F. hepatica behaves as resistant to ABZ and susceptible to TCBZ.Fil: Sanabria, Rodrigo Eduardo Fabrizio. Estimating changes in air pollutant levels due to COVID-19 lockdown measures based on a business-as-usual prediction scenario using data mining models: A case-study for urban traffic sites in Spain

    Get PDF
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, governments declared severe restrictions throughout 2020, presenting an unprecedented scenario of reduced anthropogenic emissions of air pollutants derived mainly from traffic sources. To analyze the effect of these restrictions derived from COVID-19 pandemic on air quality levels, relative changes in NO, NO2, O3, PM10 and PM2.5 concentrations were calculated at urban traffic sites in the most populated Spanish cities over different periods with distinct restrictions in 2020. In addition to the changes calculated with respect to the observed air pollutant levels of previous years (2013-2019), relative changes were also calculated using predicted pollutant levels for the different periods over 2020 on a business-as-usual scenario using Multiple Linear Regression (MLR) models with meteorological and seasonal predictors. MLR models were selected among different data mining techniques (MLR, Random Forest (RF), K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN)), based on their higher performance and accuracy obtained from a leave-one-year-out cross-validation scheme using 2013-2019 data. A q-q mapping post-correction was also applied in all cases in order to improve the reliability of the predictions to reproduce the observed distributions and extreme events. This approach allows us to estimate the relative changes in the studied air pollutants only due to COVID-19 restrictions. The results obtained from this approach show a decreasing pattern for NOx, with the largest reduction in the lockdown period above -50%, whereas the increase observed for O3 contrasts with the NOx patterns with a maximum increase of 23.9%. The slight reduction in PM10 (-4.1%) and PM2.5 levels (-2.3%) during lockdown indicates a lower relationship with traffic sources. The developed methodology represents a simple but robust framework for exploratory analysis and intervention detection in air quality studies. This research was developed in the framework of the Project “Contaminación atmosférica y COVID-19: ¿Qué podemos aprender de esta pandemia?”, selected in the Extraordinary BBVA Foundation grant call for SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19 research proposals, within the area of ecology and veterinary science
