    Characterization and winemaking application of a novel pectin-degrading enzyme complex from Aspergillus sojae ATCC 20235

    A novel pectin-degrading enzyme complex produced by Aspergillus sojae ATCC 20235 (PC-AS) using lowcost substrates was characterised in terms of its enzyme activities relevant in winemaking. This novel PC-AS was applied at the maceration/fermentation stage during the elaboration of 'Tempranillo' red wines to study its effect on colour development and the phenolic and amino acid wine composition. PC-AS polygalacturonase activity was the major enzyme activity detected and quantified under winemaking conditions (pH 3.5, 20 °C) and proved being stable and active in the presence of sulfur dioxide. Xylanase activity, albeit in lesser amounts, was also present in PC-AS, and neither pectinesterase, which produces methanol, nor β-glucosidase, which is detrimental to wine colour, were detected in PC-AS. This pectin-degrading complex promoted a faster colour extraction since maximum colour intensity of the enzyme treated wines was reached earlier compared to their controls. After 6 months of storage under winery conditions, wines elaborated with PC-AS presented higher concentrations of caffeic acid, coumaric acid and aspartic acid (p ˂ 0.05), suggesting an improved extraction of grape cell components. In conclusion, the application of PCAS yielded results that showed that it can be used in red winemaking to shorten the maceration time needed to reach high CI values and to improve the extraction of some phenolics and other compounds that enhance the quality of the final product.Facultad de Ciencias ExactasCentro de Investigación y Desarrollo en Fermentaciones Industriale

    Colorectal cancer is occasionally called colon or rectal cancer, depending on where cancer begins to form, and is the second leading cause of cancer death among both men and women. The platinum-based [PtCl(8-O-quinolinate)(dmso)] (8-QO-Pt) compound has demonstrated encouraging anticancer activity. Three different systems of 8-QO-Pt-encapsulated nanostructured lipid carriers (NLCs) with riboflavin (RFV) were investigated. NLCs of myristyl myristate were synthesized by ultrasonication in the presence of RFV. RFV-decorated nanoparticles displayed a spherical shape and a narrow size dispersion in the range of 144–175 nm mean particle diameter. The 8-QO-Pt-loaded formulations of NLC/RFV with more than 70% encapsulation efficiency showed sustained in vitro release for 24 h. Cytotoxicity, cell uptake, and apoptosis were evaluated in the HT-29 human colorectal adenocarcinoma cell line. The results revealed that 8-QO-Pt-loaded formulations of NLC/RFV showed higher cytotoxicity than the free 8-QO-Pt compound at 5.0 µM. All three systems exhibited different levels of cellular internalization. Moreover, the hemotoxicity assay showed the safety profile of the formulations (less than 3.7%). Taken together, RFV-targeted NLC systems for drug delivery have been investigated for the first time in our study and the results are promising for the future of chemotherapy in colon cancer treatmen

The specimens were verified and additional information is provided on their current condition, number, and locality information.     Diseño cinemático de un robot paralelo 2-PRR

    Este artículo presenta una síntesis dimensional para un robot plano paralelo 2-PRR con estructura simétrica. Este robot posibilita la translación de la mesa móvil sin cambios en la orientación, lo cual resulta útil en aplicaciones que requieren posiciones controladas con alta rigidez. Debido a la alta sensibilidad que tienen estos robots con respecto a los cambios geométricos, muchas metodologías han sido desarrolladas para establecer la síntesis dimensional. En este trabajo se usó el Método de Normalización de Parámetros Finitos (PFNM) para establecer las dimensiones usando dos atlas de diseño, para el Índice Globales de Condición (GCI), y para el espacio de trabajo ( ). Se muestra que, para los dos atlas de diseño, GCI y , no es posible maximizar uno de los índices sin disminuir el otro, lo que representa un compromiso de diseño. Igualmente, se resaltan configuraciones singulares que vienen de geometrías especificas o de posiciones limite. La síntesis dimensional completa del 2-PRR es también presentada.In civil construction Abstract— This paper presents a dimensional synthesis for a 2-PRR planar parallel robot with a structural plane of symmetry. This robot can achieve the translation of the moving platform without changing the orientation, being useful for applications that require controlled positions with high rigidity. Because the performance of parallel robots is highly sensitive to their geometric parameters, many methodologies to state the dimensional synthesis has been developed. We used the method of Parameter - Finiteness Normalization Method (PFNM) to state the dimensional synthesis using Global Condition Index (GCI) and workspace ( ) design atlases. For the two, GCI and , designed atlases, it is not possible to maximize one of the indexes without diminishing the other one, which represents a design compromise. Also, we remark singular configurations that are coming from specific geometry or limit positions. The complete dimensional synthesis is also presented
