Effects of distance dependence of exciton hopping on the Davydov soliton
The Davydov model of energy transfer in molecular chains is reconsidered
assuming the distance dependence of the exciton hopping term. New equations of
motion for phonons and excitons are derived within the coherent state
approximation. Solving these nonlinear equations result in the existence of
Davydov-like solitons. In the case of a dilatational soliton, the amplitude and
width is decreased as a results of the mechanism introduced here and above a
critical coupling strength our equations do not allow for localized solutions.

The Impact of Stellar Migration on Disk Outskirts
Stellar migration, whether due to trapping by transient spirals (churning),
or to scattering by non-axisymmetric perturbations, has been proposed to
explain the presence of stars in outer disks. After a review of the basic
theory, we present compelling, but not yet conclusive, evidence that churning
has been important in the outer disks of galaxies with type II (down-bending)
profiles, while scattering has produced the outer disks of type III
(up-bending) galaxies. In contrast, field galaxies with type I (pure
exponential) profiles appear to not have experienced substantial migration. We
conclude by suggesting work that would improve our understanding of the origin

Giant Magnons and Singular Curves
We obtain the giant magnon of Hofman-Maldacena and its dyonic generalisation
on R x S^3 < AdS_5 x S^5 from the general elliptic finite-gap solution by
degenerating its elliptic spectral curve into a singular curve. This alternate
description of giant magnons as finite-gap solutions associated to singular
curves is related through a symplectic transformation to their already
established description in terms of condensate cuts developed in

Photon Spectrum Produced by the Late Decay of a Cosmic Neutrino Background
We obtain the photon spectrum induced by a cosmic background of unstable
neutrinos. We study the spectrum in a variety of cosmological scenarios and
also we allow for the neutrinos having a momentum distribution (only a critical
matter dominated universe and neutrinos at rest have been considered until
now). Our results can be helpful when extracting bounds on neutrino electric

Final analysis from RESONATE: Up to six years of follow‐up on ibrutinib in patients with previously treated chronic lymphocytic leukemia or small lymphocytic lymphoma
Ibrutinib, a once‐daily oral inhibitor of Bruton's tyrosine kinase, is approved in the United States and Europe for treatment of patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) or small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL). The phase 3 RESONATE study showed improved efficacy of single‐agent ibrutinib over ofatumumab in patients with relapsed/refractory CLL/SLL, including those with high‐risk features. Here we report the final analysis from RESONATE with median follow‐up on study of 65.3 months (range, 0.3‐71.6) in the ibrutinib arm. Median progression‐free survival (PFS) remained significantly longer for patients randomized to ibrutinib vs ofatumumab (44.1 vs 8.1 months; hazard ratio [HR]: 0.148; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.113‐0.196; P˂.001). The PFS benefit with ibrutinib vs ofatumumab was preserved in the genomic high‐risk population with del(17p), TP53 mutation, del(11q), and/or unmutated IGHV status (median PFS 44.1 vs 8.0 months; HR: 0.110; 95% CI: 0.080‐0.152), which represented 82% of patients. Overall response rate with ibrutinib was 91% (complete response/complete response with incomplete bone marrow recovery, 11%). Overall survival, censored for crossover, was better with ibrutinib than ofatumumab (HR: 0.639; 95% CI: 0.418‐0.975). With up to 71 months (median 41 months) of ibrutinib therapy, the safety profile remained consistent with prior reports; cumulatively, all‐grade (grade ≥3) hypertension and atrial fibrillation occurred in 21% (9%) and 12% (6%) of patients, respectively. Only 16% discontinued ibrutinib because of adverse events (AEs). These long‐term results confirm the robust efficacy of ibrutinib in relapsed/refractory CLL/SLL irrespective of high‐risk clinical or genomic features, with no unexpected AEs. Quantitative Treatment of Decoherence
We outline different approaches to define and quantify decoherence. We argue
that a measure based on a properly defined norm of deviation of the density
matrix is appropriate for quantifying decoherence in quantum registers. For a
semiconductor double quantum dot qubit, evaluation of this measure is reviewed.
For a general class of decoherence processes, including those occurring in
semiconductor qubits, we argue that this measure is additive: It scales

Comportamento de células do sistema imune frente ao desafio com Salmonella Enteritidis em aves tratadas e não tratadas com ácidos orgânicos
A Salmonelose é uma importante zoonose, considerada a principal causa de infecções bacterianas, sendo associada ao consumo de produtos avícolas. Como alternativa de controle, ácidos orgânicos têm sido amplamente usados. No entanto, pouco se conhece sobre o estado imunológico de aves de produção, e uma avaliação deste status é necessária para proteger frente a enfermidades e para garantir à aplicação segura de agentes terapêuticos ou imunização profilática. Este trabalho teve como objetivo verificar o comportamento do sistema imunológico das aves previamente infectadas com Salmonella Enteritidis (SE) tratadas com um composto de ácidos orgânicos em diferentes concentrações administrado via água e ração comparando com as aves infectadas e não tratadas. Foram inoculados 120 frangos de corte com 1mL de SE, via oral, na concentração de 1,0 x 108 UFC/mL, no 1º e 2º dia de idade, divididos em seis tratamentos com duas repetições, utilizando 200, 400, 500 e 1000ppm do ácido orgânico. Aos 35 dias de vida das aves, foram coletados, de todos os grupos, alíquotas de sangue de 3mL em tubo contendo EDTA para a avaliação das células imunes através de citometria de fluxo. Foram analisadas as porcentagens circulantes de células CD4+, CD8β+, MHC I+, MHC II+, TCRVβ1+, TCRVβ2+ e CD28+. Para análise microbiológica foram coletadas tonsilas cecais destas aves. Observou-se com esse estudo que os ácidos orgânicos nas dosagens 1000ppm na água e 500ppm na ração durante, dois e sete dias respectivamente antes do abate, foram eficazes na redução da infecção por SE em frangos de corte, comprovadas pelo método microbiológico e demonstradas através do comportamento das células do sistema imune. No presente estudo as aves infectadas apresentaram uma proporção menor de células T auxiliares circulantes quando comparadas às aves infectadas, mas tratadas com o AO ou com o grupo não infectado. A mesma tendência pode ser observada para as células CD28+, TCRVβ1+ e MHC IIbright+, e, com menor resolução, para CD8β+
