South American terrestrial Gastropoda in the collection of the Auckland War Memorial Museum
The catalogued collection of South American terrestrial gastropods, including the Caribbean ABC islands and Trinidad & Tobago, of
the Auckland War Memorial Museum (AM), New Zealand, is discussed here. In total, 264 specimen lots from South America were
found in the AM collection, including eight type lots. Twelve of the specimens represent new geographic distribution data, including
the first known precise locality for the species Bostryx luridus (L. Pfeiffer, 1863) and potentially for Drymaeus cf. waldoschmidti
Parodiz, 1962 as well. The specimens of Lopesianus crenulatus Weyrauch, 1967 allowed for the revision of the monospecific genus
Lopesianus Weyrauch, 1958, which is herein considered valid in the family Simpulopsidae
An ironic twist of fate: replacement name for Stenogyra gracilenta Morelet, 1885, not Achatina gracilenta Morelet, 1867 (Mollusca, Gastropoda, Achatinidae)

More than a number : clarifying the dates of publication of some papers of A. Doering on land and freshwater shells from Argentina and a note on his taxon Clessinia (Odontostomidae)
The dates of publication of ten papers of A. Doering published from 1874–1879 in two Argentinan journals are reviewed. Seven of these papers appear to have been published later than their printed dates suggest. The status of one taxon described in these papers, Clessinia Doering, 1875, is clarified.Fil: Breure, Abraham S.H.. Naturalis Biodiversity Center; Países BajosFil: Miquel, Sergio Eduardo. A new terrestrial snail species (Gastropoda: Bulimulidae) from the Región de Antofagasta, northern Chile
A new species of Scutalus Albers, 1850 (Gastropoda: Bulimulidae), Scutalus chango sp. n., is described from a coastal area of northern Chile. Empty shells of this new species were found buried in sand and under boulders and rocks in the foothills of the Chilean Coastal Range at Paposo, Región de Antofagasta. This new species is distinguished from all other Chilean terrestrial snails by its slender shell with a flared and reflected aperture, and by the presence of a columellar fold. This is the first record of Scutalus in Chile, and the southernmost record for this endemic South American bulimulid genus. The presence of this species in Paposo highlights the need for further research and for conservation guidelines in coastal areas of northern Chile, which have comparatively high levels of biodiversity and endemism

The malacological contributions of Carl Georg Ludwig Pfeiffer (1805-1877): a bibliography, with a collation of the publication dates of the Malakozoologische Blätter
Carl Georg Ludwig Pfeiffer (1805-1877) was one of the most productive authors on (mainly non-marine) molluscs during the mid-19th century, describing an estimated 3,000 taxa. As a first step in making his legacy accessible, we present a bibliography of his malacological publications (452 items in total). His serial books and journal publications are listed separately, and we present a collation of the Malakozoologische Blätter and Malakozoologische Blätter: Neue Folge
