Los factores explícitos del financiamiento externo presentes en el Pacto de Solidaridad Económica se encuentran básicamente en la política de apertura comercial y en el manejo de tipo de cambio. Mientras que el factor ausente en el Pacto es el problema de la deuda externa, esto a pesar de que representa un aspecto central del financiamiento externo para poder sostener un tipo de cambio fijo y una tendencia descendente en las tasas de interés internas, y obviamente mantener un control constante de la inflación por el lado de estos dos factores que afectan los costos financieros

Maestría en Ingeniería Estructural.El método simplificado de análisis es ampliamente utilizado en estructuras de mampostería, ya que permite realizar el diseño y análisis de una manera rápida y aproximada, por lo que este método desprecia aspectos tales como, la flexibilidad de diafragma, los efectos de torsión, los efectos bidireccionales, los momentos de volteo y los desplazamientos horizontales. En general, el método simplificado de análisis verifica únicamente que en cada piso la suma de las resistencias al corte de los muros de carga, en la dirección de la aceleración, sea cuando menos igual a la fuerza cortante que obre en dicho piso. No se debe dejar de mencionar los antecedentes del método simplificado. Se necesita tener un conocimiento amplio del método simplificado de análisis, ya que este método será una de las bases más importantes para realizar nuestros estudios. Se mencionará por tanto, los requisitos indispensables y únicos para utilizar el método simplificado de análisis basado en las Normas Técnicas Complementarias por Sismo 2004 (NTCS-2004 2004). Un objetivo a cumplir para la presente tesis, es el estudiar las limitantes por torsión asociadas al método simplificado 2004, como parte del trabajo de investigación analítico en curso. Por lo que se realizó una extensa recopilación de trabajos encontrados en la literatura, relacionados con este tema. Esto es muy necesario, ya que se necesita saber y entender los análisis que se han efectuado para estudiar los efectos por torsión en las estructuras

Modeling issues for solid oxide fuel cells operating with coal syngas

Fuel cells which directly convert the chemical energy into electricity are considered one of the most promising technologies to support energy needs in the near future. Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFC) can run with alternative fuels such as synthesis coal gas due to their high operating temperature. Utilization of coal syngas in fuel cells would enable cleaner coal energy. A better understanding of the chemical and transport processes when running on syngas will allow researchers to find solutions to problems currently delaying the introduction of the technology into the market. A comprehensive modeling tool is developed for simulation of SOFCs operating on a wide range of fuel mixtures such as syngas, natural gas, etc. The new code takes into account the methane reforming and water gas shift reactions occurring on a common Ni-YSZ electrode using two alternative mechanisms namely, a global mechanism and a detailed surface mechanism. Simultaneous electrochemical oxidation of hydrogen and carbon monoxide at the anode-electrolyte active interface is accounted for using a new electrochemistry model. Model validation was performed by comparing the results with data published in the literature and available experimental data obtained at West Virginia University. Also, the associated numerical uncertainty was assessed and found that this was small in general, except for the ohmic heating. A parametric analysis considering the effect of temperature, fuel composition, and activation overpotential parameters for carbon monoxide oxidation was also performed. It was found that the increase of cell performance with temperature increase was caused by a decrease in all the overpotentials. The cell performance also increases when the concentration of the fuel in the anode stream increases. The operating temperature, as well as the composition of the fuel stream have a significant effect on the direction of the water gas shift reaction as well as on the current supported by hydrogen and carbon monoxide. However, when the ratio of hydrogen concentration to carbon monoxide concentration is kept constant, the splitting of the total current between these two fuels is not affected considerably. The cell showed one limiting current even when two fuels, hydrogen and carbon monoxide, are directly and simultaneously oxidized irrespective of the inlet composition. The new computational tool is applied to a more realistic case of planar SOFC with a surface of circa 100 cm2

Palatable food, clock genes and the reward circuitry

This thesis studied the interaction between diet-induced obesity and the 24h variations in behavior and physiology paced by the circadian system. Mice and rats were fed with a free choice high-fat high-sugar diet (fcHFHS). In mice, fcHFHS diet changed day-night eating patterns and PER2 clock-protein expression in the Lateral Habenula (LHb), a food-reward related area. In rats, no feeding patterns or clock-gene changes in LHb were found, however, Per2 gene expression was disrupted in the Nucleus Accumbens, which is indirectly connected to LHb. When blocking pharmacologically the glutamatergic functioning of the LHb, food intake was altered in both chow and fcHFHS-fed rats in a time-dependent manner. Finally, we tested the influence of Npas2 clock-gene on the disruption of rhythmic behavior produced by the fcHFHS-diet using Npas2 mutant and WT mice. Both genotypes, however, displayed similar altered eating patterns caused by the fcHFHS diet. Our findings indicate a relationship between nutrient type and an abnormal clock-gene expression in food reward-related areas, and an important role for the LHb in feeding behavior

The active participation of the reader as a condition for understanding the novel Pedro Páramo, has been constantly pointed out, both by critics and by its author, Juan Rulfo. The citation and invocation of the speeches of the dead constitute a great void, which demands a great participation on the part of the reader. This indicates –but also blurs– the borders of the different diegetic levels. It also reveals the aural dimension of the reader. Based on narratology, this work analyzes the reader’s revelation in the diegesis and, since the reader is appealed by Juan Preciado and Dorotea, la Cuarraca, its configuration as aural reader.La participación activa del lector como condición para comprender Pedro Páramo ha sido señalada constantemente, tanto por la crítica como por su autor, Juan Rulfo.
