Molecular Mechanism and Potential Targets for Blocking HPV-Induced Lesion Development

Persistent infection with high-risk HPV is the etiologic agent associated with the development of cervical cancer (CC) development. However, environmental, social, epidemiological, genetic, and host factors may have a joint influence on the risk of disease progression. Cervical lesions caused by HPV infection can be removed naturally by the host immune response and only a small percentage may progress to cancer; thus, the immune response is essential for the control of precursor lesions and CC. We present a review of recent research on the molecular mechanisms that allow HPV-infected cells to evade immune surveillance and potential targets of molecular therapy to inhibit tumor immune escape

The lack of control in this pathway results in overproduction of oxygen free radicals that may damage cellular structures. Malondialdehyde (MDA) is a reliable sensor for lipid peroxidation whose production can be balanced by nitric oxide (NO), ascorbic acid (Asc) and reduced gluthation (GSH) as antioxidant system. The objective of this study was to establish the influence of age and sex on antioxidant and oxidant system in a group of healthy subjects. MDA was measured as thiobarbituric adducts, NO as total nitrites, ascorbic acid through Schwarz and Williams method and GSH through commercial kit. No significant differences were observed either in oxidant (MDA) or in antioxidant system (NO, Asc and GSH) concentration when comparing subjects between 13 – 19 to subjects between 20 – 38 years old. According to sex only NO concentration was significantly higher in women (p< 0,012). Our results suggest that MDA, NO, Asc and GSH do not change in the interval of ages (13 – 38) and sex affects only nitrite’s concentration

Analytical orientation human management: A path to responsibilization

The present paper proposes an approach to human management that privileges conversational spaces in the organization through verbalization, which results in symbolization, socialization and responsibilization of individuals in the organization groups. Our special concern is responsibilization, emphasizing that participation through conversation generates commitment, inclusion and a sense of belonging in individuals. In the cases studied, we have privileged the analytical method, understood as the method of discourse analysis, which underlies the attitude of the professional who grounds his work on listening, analyzing and intervening. The research findings allow the set out of a path to corporate responsibility
