Effelsberg Observations of Excited-State (6.0 GHz) OH in Supernova Remnants and W3(OH)
While masers in the 1720 MHz transition of OH are detected toward many
supernova remnants (SNRs), no other OH transition is seen as a maser in SNRs.
We present a search for masers at 6049 MHz, which has recently been predicted
to produce masers by pure collisional excitation at conditions similar to that
required for 1720 MHz masing. The Effelsberg 100 m telescope was used to
observe the excited-state 6016, 6030, 6035, and 6049 MHz lines of OH toward
selected SNRs, most of which have previously-detected bright 1720 MHz masers.
No excited-state masers are found toward SNRs, consistent with previous
observations of the 6049 MHz and other excited-state transitions. We do not see
clear evidence of absorption toward SNR target positions, although we do see
evidence of absorption in the molecular cloud at +50 km/s near Sgr A East. Weak
absorption is detected at 6016 MHz toward W3(OH), while stronger, narrower
emission is seen at 6049 MHz, suggesting that the 6049 MHz emission is a
low-gain maser. We conclude that conditions in SNRs are not conducive to

EVLA Observations of OH Masers in ON 1
This Letter reports on initial Expanded Very Large Array (EVLA) observations
of the 6035 MHz masers in ON 1. The EVLA data are of good quality, lending
confidence in the new receiver system. Nineteen maser features, including six
Zeeman pairs, are detected. The overall distribution of 6035 MHz OH masers is
similar to that of the 1665 MHz OH masers. The spatial resolution is sufficient
to unambiguously determine that the magnetic field is strong (~ -10 mG) at the
location of the blueshifted masers in the north, consistent with Zeeman
splitting detected in 13441 MHz OH masers in the same velocity range. Left and
right circularly polarized ground-state features dominate in different regions
in the north of the source, which may be due to a combination of magnetic field
and velocity gradients. The combined distribution of all OH masers toward the
south is suggestive of a shock structure of the sort previously seen in W3(OH).Comment: 4 pages using emulateapj.cls including 2 tables and 2 color figure
Testing M2T/T2M Transformations

Miami, EEUU.Testing model-to-model (M2M) transformations is becoming a prominent topic in the current Model-driven Engineering landscape. Current approaches for transformation testing, however, assume having explicit model representations for the input domain and for the output domain of the transformation. This excludes other important transformation kinds, such as model-to-text (M2T) and text-to-model (T2M) transformations, from being properly tested since adequate model representations are missing either for the input domain or for the output domain. The contribution of this paper to overcome this gap is extending Tracts, a M2M transformation testing approach, for M2T/T2M transformation testing. The main mechanism we employ for reusing Tracts is to represent text within a generic metamodel. By this, we transform the M2T/T2M transformation specification problems into equivalent M2M transformation specification problems. We demonstrate the applicability of the approach by two examples and present how the approach is implemented for the Eclipse Modeling Framework (EMF). Expansion of W 3(OH)
A direct measurement of the expansion of W 3(OH) is made by comparing Very
Large Array images taken about 10 yr apart. The expansion is anisotropic with a
typical speed of 3 to 5 km/s, indicating a dynamical age of only 2300 yr. These
observations are inconsistent with either the freely expanding shell model or a
simple bow shock model. The most favored model is a slowly expanding shell-like
HII region, with either a fast rarefied flow or another less massive diffuse
ionized region moving towards the observer. There is also a rapidly evolving
source near the projected center of emission, perhaps related to the central

Detailed Radio Spectra of Selected Compact Sources in the Nucleus of M82
We have determined detailed radio spectra for 26 compact sources in the
starburst nucleus of M82, between 74 and 1.3 cm. Seventeen show low-frequency
turnovers. One other has a thermal emission spectrum, and we identify it as an
HII region. The low frequency turnovers are due to absorption by the
interstellar gas in M82. New information on the AGN candidate 44.01+595, shows
it to have a non-thermal falling powerlaw spectrum at the highest frequencies,
and that it is strongly absorbed below 2 GHz. We derive large magnetic fields
in the supernova remnants, of order 1-2 milliGauss, hence large pressures in
the sources suggest that the brightest ones are either expanding or are
strongly confined by a dense interstellar medium. From the largest source in

Towards supplier maturity evaluation in terms of PLM collaboration
The product lifecycle management (PLM) system has a significant role to support the collaboration and manage the partnership between OEM and Supplier to enable the success of supplier integration. Today great rates of co- operation as suppliers have been dedicated to SMEs. Since one of the PLM task is to control the collaboration between OEM and suppliers, this paper provide supplier (SMEs) a framework to find their place in this relationship in the concept of PLM. To respond to this trend, we defined a methodology based on collaborative matrix maturity levels and four PLM axes of strategic, organization, process and tools levels. Finally according to this ma- trix, we proposed a structure of a proper questionnaire and example that show suppliers how to evaluate their positions in terms of collaboration in PLM
Modelling and simulation of operation and maintenance strategy for offshore wind farms based on multiagent system

The final version is available from the publisher via the DOI in this record.Maintenance of offshore wind turbines is a complex and costly undertaking which acts as a barrier to the development of this source of energy. Factors such as the size of the turbines, the size of the wind farms, their distance from the coast and meteorological conditions make it difficult for the stakeholders to select the optimal maintenance strategy. With the objective of reducing costs and duration of such operations it is important that new maintenance techniques are investigated. In this paper we propose a hybrid model of maintenance that is based on multi-agent systems; this allows for the modelling of systems with dynamic interactions between multiple parts. A multi-criteria decision algorithm has been developed to allow analysis and selection of different maintenance strategies. A cost model that includes maintenance action cost, energy loss and installation of monitoring system cost has been presented. For the purposes of this research we have developed a simulator using NetLogo software and have provided experimental results. The results show that employing the proposed hybrid maintenance strategy could increase wind farm productivity and reduce maintenance cost.Acknowledgement is made to European Union for the support of this research through the

The association between water kilomasers and compact radio sources in the starburst galaxy NGC2146
We report the detection of 22 GHz water vapor emission toward the starburst
galaxy NGC2146, made using the Effelsberg 100-m telescope. Interferometric
observations with the Very Large Array (VLA) show that a part of the emission
originates from two prominent sites of star formation that are associated with
compact radio continuum sources, likely ultra-compact HII regions. It is
concluded that the emission arises from the most luminous and distant water
`kilomasers' detected so far. Our data increase the number of water maser
detections in northern galaxies (Dec > -30 deg) with 100 micron IRAS point

OH far-infrared emission from low- and intermediate-mass protostars surveyed with Herschel-PACS
OH is a key species in the water chemistry of star-forming regions, because
its presence is tightly related to the formation and destruction of water. This
paper presents OH observations from 23 low- and intermediate-mass young stellar
objects obtained with the PACS integral field spectrometer on-board Herschel in
the context of the Water In Star-forming Regions with Herschel (WISH) key
program. Most low-mass sources have compact OH emission (< 5000 AU scale),
whereas the OH lines in most intermediate-mass sources are extended over the
whole PACS detector field-of-view (> 20000 AU). The strength of the OH emission
is correlated with various source properties such as the bolometric luminosity
and the envelope mass, but also with the OI and H2O emission. Rotational
diagrams for sources with many OH lines show that the level populations of OH
can be approximated by a Boltzmann distribution with an excitation temperature
at around 70 K. Radiative transfer models of spherically symmetric envelopes
cannot reproduce the OH emission fluxes nor their broad line widths, strongly
suggesting an outflow origin. Slab excitation models indicate that the observed
excitation temperature can either be reached if the OH molecules are exposed to
a strong far-infrared continuum radiation field or if the gas temperature and
density are sufficiently high. Using realistic source parameters and radiation
fields, it is shown for the case of Ser SMM1 that radiative pumping plays an
important role in transitions arising from upper level energies higher than 300
K. The compact emission in the low-mass sources and the required presence of a
strong radiation field and/or a high density to excite the OH molecules points
towards an origin in shocks in the inner envelope close to the protostar.Comment: Accepted for publication in Astronomy and Astrophysics. Abstract
