Information transfer using a single particle path-spin hybrid entangled state
The path-spin entangled state of a single spin-1/2 particle is considered
which is generated by using a beam-spitter and a spin-flipper. Using this
hybrid entanglement at the level of a single particle as a resource, we
formulate a protocol for transferring of the state of an unknown qubit to a
distant location. Our scheme is implemented by a sequence of unitary operations
along with suitable spin-measurements, as well as by using classical
communication between the two spatially separated parties. This protocol, thus,
demonstrates the possibility of using intraparticle entanglement as a physical
resource for performing information theoretic tasks
Renormalization Group Approach to Generalized Cosmological models
We revisit here the problem of generalized cosmology using renormalization
group approach. A complete analysis of these cosmologies, where specific models
appear as asymptotic fixed-points, is given here along with their linearized
stability analysis.Comment: 10 pages, to appear in the International Journal of Theoretical

Thermal leptogenesis in a model with mass varying neutrinos
In this paper we consider the possibility of neutrino mass varying during the
evolution of the Universe and study its implications on leptogenesis.
Specifically, we take the minimal seesaw model of neutrino masses and introduce
a coupling between the right-handed neutrinos and the dark energy scalar field,
the Quintessence. In our model, the right-handed neutrino masses change as the
Quintessence scalar evolves. We then examine in detail the parameter space of
this model allowed by the observed baryon number asymmetry. Our results show
that it is possible to lower the reheating temperature in this scenario in
comparison with the case that the neutrino masses are unchanged, which helps
solve the gravitino problem. Furthermore, a degenerate neutrino mass patten
with larger than the upper limit given in the minimal leptogenesis
scenario is permitted.Comment: 18 pages, 7 figures, version to appear in PR
Cosmology from Rolling Massive Scalar Field on the anti-D3 Brane of de Sitter Vacua
We investigate a string-inspired scenario associated with a rolling massive
scalar field on D-branes and discuss its cosmological implications. In
particular, we discuss cosmological evolution of the massive scalar field on
the ant-D3 brane of KKLT vacua. Unlike the case of tachyon field, because of
the warp factor of the anti-D3 brane, it is possible to obtain the required
level of amplitude of density perturbations. We study the spectra of scalar and
tensor perturbations generated during the rolling scalar inflation and show
that our scenario satisfies the observational constraint coming from the Cosmic
Microwave Background anisotropies and other observational data. We also
implement the negative cosmological constant arising from the stabilization of
the modulus fields in the KKLT vacua and find that this leads to a successful
reheating in which the energy density of the scalar field effectively scales as
a pressureless dust. The present dark energy can be also explained in our
scenario provided that the potential energy of the massive rolling scalar does
not exactly cancel with the amplitude of the negative cosmological constant at
the potential minimum.Comment: RevTex4, 15 pages, 5 eps figures, minor clarifications and few

D* Production in Deep Inelastic Scattering at HERA
This paper presents measurements of D^{*\pm} production in deep inelastic
scattering from collisions between 27.5 GeV positrons and 820 GeV protons. The
data have been taken with the ZEUS detector at HERA. The decay channel
(+ c.c.) has been used in the study. The
cross section for inclusive D^{*\pm} production with
and is 5.3 \pms 1.0 \pms 0.8 nb in the kinematic region
{ GeV and }. Differential cross
sections as functions of p_T(D^{*\pm}), and are
compared with next-to-leading order QCD calculations based on the photon-gluon
fusion production mechanism. After an extrapolation of the cross section to the
full kinematic region in p_T(D^{*\pm}) and (D^{*\pm}), the charm
contribution to the proton structure function is
determined for Bjorken between 2 10 and 5 10.Comment: 17 pages including 4 figure
Search for lepton-flavor violation at HERA
A search for lepton-flavor-violating interactions and has been performed with the ZEUS detector using the entire HERA I
data sample, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 130 pb^{-1}. The data
were taken at center-of-mass energies, , of 300 and 318 GeV. No
evidence of lepton-flavor violation was found, and constraints were derived on
leptoquarks (LQs) that could mediate such interactions. For LQ masses below
, limits were set on , where
is the coupling of the LQ to an electron and a
first-generation quark , and is the branching ratio of
the LQ to the final-state lepton ( or ) and a quark . For
LQ masses much larger than , limits were set on the four-fermion
interaction term for LQs that couple to an electron and a quark
and to a lepton and a quark , where and are
quark generation indices. Some of the limits are also applicable to
lepton-flavor-violating processes mediated by squarks in -Parity-violating
supersymmetric models. In some cases, especially when a higher-generation quark
is involved and for the process , the ZEUS limits are the most
stringent to date.Comment: 37 pages, 10 figures, Accepted by EPJC. References and 1 figure (Fig.

Observation of hard scattering in photoproduction events with a large rapidity gap at HERA
Events with a large rapidity gap and total transverse energy greater than 5
GeV have been observed in quasi-real photoproduction at HERA with the ZEUS
detector. The distribution of these events as a function of the
centre of mass energy is consistent with diffractive scattering. For total
transverse energies above 12 GeV, the hadronic final states show predominantly
a two-jet structure with each jet having a transverse energy greater than 4
GeV. For the two-jet events, little energy flow is found outside the jets. This
observation is consistent with the hard scattering of a quasi-real photon with
a colourless object in the proton.Comment: 19 pages, latex, 4 figures appended as uuencoded fil
Multijet production in neutral current deep inelastic scattering at HERA and determination of alpha_s
Multijet production rates in neutral current deep inelastic scattering have
been measured in the range of exchanged boson virtualities 10 < Q2 < 5000 GeV2.
The data were taken at the ep collider HERA with centre-of-mass energy sqrt(s)
= 318 GeV using the ZEUS detector and correspond to an integrated luminosity of
82.2 pb-1. Jets were identified in the Breit frame using the k_T cluster
algorithm in the longitudinally invariant inclusive mode. Measurements of
differential dijet and trijet cross sections are presented as functions of jet
transverse energy E_{T,B}{jet}, pseudorapidity eta_{LAB}{jet} and Q2 with
E_{T,B}{jet} > 5 GeV and -1 < eta_{LAB}{jet} < 2.5. Next-to-leading-order QCD
calculations describe the data well. The value of the strong coupling constant
alpha_s(M_Z), determined from the ratio of the trijet to dijet cross sections,
is alpha_s(M_Z) = 0.1179 pm 0.0013(stat.) {+0.0028}_{-0.0046}(exp.)

Measurement of (anti)deuteron and (anti)proton production in DIS at HERA
The first observation of (anti)deuterons in deep inelastic scattering at HERA
has been made with the ZEUS detector at a centre-of-mass energy of 300--318 GeV
using an integrated luminosity of 120 pb-1. The measurement was performed in
the central rapidity region for transverse momentum per unit of mass in the
range 0.3<p_T/M<0.7. The particle rates have been extracted and interpreted in
terms of the coalescence model. The (anti)deuteron production yield is smaller
than the (anti)proton yield by approximately three orders of magnitude,
consistent with the world measurements.Comment: 26 pages, 9 figures, 5 tables, submitted to Nucl. Phys.
