    U ovom radu riječ je o eksplorativnoj empirijskoj analizi koja ispituje mogućnost organizacijske adaptacije određene destinacije na klimatske promjene. Teorijski dio rada proizlazi iz stručne literature vezane uz organizacijsko učenje i adaptabilnost. Istraživanjem slučaja jednog od otoka Velike Britanije rad se posebno fokusira na koji način destinacijska-menadžment organizacija stječe znanja vezana uz klimatske promjene i kako primjenjuje stečena znanja u organizacijskom učenju i adaptabilnosti organizacije. Analiza identificira određeni broj izazova s kojima se suočava destinacijsko menadžment organizacija, posebice vezano uz vođenje i destinacijsku politiku.This research note reports on an exploratory empirical study that examined the extent of organisational adaptation of a destination to climate change. The note takes its theoretical stance from the organisational learning and adaptation literature. Utilising a case study of a UK island destination, the note focuses specifi cally on the way the destination management organisation acquires climate change knowledge and how it translates this knowledge into organisational learning and destination adaptation. The study identifi ed a number of challenges facing the destination management organisation, particularly in relation to leadership and destination governance

    Decoding pituitary tumors: a systematic analysis of diagnostic methods and treatment modalities

    Pituitary tumors are growths that form in the gland these tumors are rare representing 10-15% of all brain tumors. They can disrupt the production of hormones, in the body leading to symptoms related to hormone imbalance. This review offers an overview of the methods used for diagnosing and treating tumors. It is worth noting that relying solely on references may restrict the scope and depth of discussions about tumors in this paper. Suggestions for research include exploring diagnostic tools like molecular imaging and liquid biopsy to enhance early detection and accurate assessment of these tumors. Additionally, more research is required to understand the long-term effects and quality of life outcomes for patients undergoing treatment options for tumors. In conclusion, significant progress has been made in diagnosing and treating tumors over time. Advances in imaging technologies such as diffusion-weighted imaging and magnetic resonance spectroscopy have enhanced precision and treatment strategies for these tumors. The discussion also covers the roles of surgery, radiation therapy and medical interventions, in managing tumor growth and hormonal imbalances further advancements, in research and innovation are crucial, for enhancing our knowledge and treatment of tumors ultimately bringing outcomes for both patients and healthcare professionals.

    Laser speckle velocimetry for robot manufacturing

    A non-contact speckle correlation sensor for the measurement of robotic tool speed is presented for use in robotic manufacturing and is capable of measuring the in-plane relative velocities between a robot end-effector and the workpiece or other surface. The sensor performance was assessed in the laboratory with the sensor accuracies found to be better than 0:01 mm/s over a 70 mm/s velocity range. Finally an example of the sensors application to robotic manufacturing is presented where the sensor was applied to tool speed measurement for path planning in the wire and arc additive manufacturing process using a KUKA KR150 L110/2 industrial robot

    Compensation strategies for robotic motion errors for additive manufacturing (AM)

    It is desirable to utilise a robotic approach in additive manufacturing as Computer Numerical Control (CNC) is expensive and it has high maintenance costs. A robotic approach is relatively inexpensive compared to CNC and can provide much more flexibility, enabling a variety of configurations and easier parallel processing. However, robots struggle to achieve high positioning accuracy and are more prone to disturbances from the process forces. This paper attempts to characterise the robot position and velocity errors, which depend on the build strategy deployed, using a laser speckle correlation sensor to measure the robotic motion. An assessment has been done as to whether these errors would cause any problem in additive manufacturing techniques, where the test parts were built using the Wire+Arc Additive Manufacture (WAAM) technique. Finally, different compensation strategies are discussed to counter the robotic errors and a reduction of 3 mm in top surface profile irregularity by varying the wire feed speed (WFS) during the path has been demonstrated

    A non-contact speckle correlation sensor for the measurement of robotic tool speed is described that is capable of measuring the in-plane relative velocities between a robot end-effector and the workplace or other surface. The sensor performance has been assessed in the laboratory with sensor accuracies of ±0.01 mm/s over a ±70 mm/s velocity range. The effect of misalignment of the sensor on the robot was assessed for variation in both working distance and angular alignment with sensor accuracy maintained to within 0.025 mm/s (<0.04%) over a working distance variation of ±5 mm from the sensor design distance and ±0.4 mm/s (0.6%) for a misalignment of 5°. The sensor precision was found to be limited by the peak fitting accuracy used in the signal processing with peak errors of ±0.34 mm/s. Finally an example of the sensor’s application to robotic manufacturing is presented where the sensor was applied to tool speed measurement for path planning in the wire and arc additive manufacturing process using a KUKA KR150 L110/2 industrial robot

    Rosuvastatin based novel indole derivatives designed as potential anti-cancer agents were synthesized via a newly developed ligand-free, simple, straightforward and inexpensive one-pot method. The methodology involved a Cu-catalyzed coupling-cyclization of a rosuvastatin based alkyne with o-iodoanilides in the presence of CuI and K2CO3 in PEG-400. Three of the synthesized compounds showed promising anti-proliferative activities against cancer cell lines and an increase of p21 mRNA expression and apoptotic effects in zebrafish embryos/larvae.Peer reviewe

    Formulation and pharmacodynamic evaluation of meloxicam liquisolid compacts

    The purpose of this study was to improve the meloxicam dissolution rate through its formulation into liquisolid compacts and then to evaluate the in vitro and in vivo performance of the prepared liquisolid compacts. Dissolution efficiency, mean dissolution time and relative dissolution rate of liquisolid compacts were calculated and compared to marketed formulation. The degree of interaction between the ME and excipients was studied by differential scanning calorimetry and X-ray diffraction were used and results revealed that, there was a loss of meloxicam crystallanity upon liquisolid formulation and almost molecularly dispersed state, which contributed to the enhanced drug dissolution properties. The optimized liquisolid compact showed higher dissolution rates and dissolution efficiency compared to commercial product. The analgesic and anti inflammatory response of optimized liquisolid compact in Swiss albino mice and Wistar rats was found to be superior compared to the marketed formulation.Colegio de Farmacéuticos de la Provincia de Buenos Aire

    Silica-Supported Oligomeric Benzyl Phosphate (Si-OBP) and Triazole Phosphate (Si-OTP) Alkylating Reagents

    The syntheses of silica-supported oligomeric benzyl phosphates (Si-OBPn) and triazole phosphates (Si-OTPn) using ring-opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP) for use as efficient alkylating reagents is reported. Ease of synthesis and grafting onto the surface of norbornenyl-tagged (Nb-tagged) silica particles has been demonstrated for benzyl phosphate and triazole phosphate monomers. It is shown that these silica polymer hybrid reagents, Si-OBPn and Si-OTPn, can be used to carry out alkylation reactions with an array of different nucleophiles to afford the corresponding benzylated and (triazolyl)methylated products in good yield and high purity
