    Performance Investigation of Flat Plate Solar Collector using vegetable oil-based nanofluids

    This project will illustrate the practicality of vegetable oil-based (Soybean oil) nanofluid with few nanoparticles including the single-type nanoparticles (Cu), oxide nanoparticles (CuO) and hybrid nanoparticles (Cu-Zn) on the performance of flat plate solar collector as an alternative for conventional working fluid. A numerical study of the vegetable oil-based nanofluid as the working fluid is conducted to visualize the temperature distributions and the efficiency of the flat plate solar collector by using specific formula. The thermophysical properties value of the nanoparticles is obtained from the classical model formula as there are lack of research paper that use vegetable oil as the based nanofluid in the experimental work. Finally, the project concluded that vegetable oil-based nanofluid is feasible as the alternative of the conventional fluid which water that has poor freezing point

    Determination of fracture strain using stress relaxation method

    This project is a study on determination of fracture strain using stress relaxation method. The objectives of this project are to determine fracture strain of API X65 using stress relaxation method and to investigate the effect of true stress-strain data on failure initiation point. This project involves both analysis and experiment of the API X65 steel using tensile test and MSc Marc 2008 r1 software. This project will determine fracture of ductile material using stress relaxation method. For validation, simulated results using stress relaxation method are compared with the experimental data for API X65 steel. Advantages in the use of the stress relaxation method for practical used are discussed. The results show that good comparison between simulation and experimental results support the method of stress relaxation method

    Modelling The Multimediator On Motivation Among Youth In Higher Education Institution Towards Volunteerism Program

    This study aimed to evaluate the factors used for develop a best model of multimediating effect on motivation among youth in higher education institution towards volunteerism program. The data be collected through questionnaires distributed at four higher education institution. This questionnaire is constructed based on five dimension which is motivation, benefits, goverment support, barrier and challenges. The data were distributed by using stratified sampling technique and involving 453 respodents  . In this case, the data were analyzed through Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) by using Analysis Moment of Structural (AMOS) 18.0 in order to examine the influence of exogenous and endogenous variables. As a result showed that the goverment support is significant and direct influences on motivation, benefits, challenges and barrier. Moreover, the benefits and barrier is significant and direct influence on motivation while the challenges is insignificant influence on motivation. In generals, the findings revealed that benefits influence is most crucial for motivation of volunteerism.     A Snapshot of Woody Plants Composition in Byram Permanent Mangrove Forest Reserve

    The term mangrove may refer to an ecosystem or individual plants where the distribution of woody plants usually influenced by climate, water salinity, tides, type of soil in the mangrove swamps and environmental activities including development, housing and industrial. Thus only a certain species that can survive under this extreme condition. A study had been conducted in Byram Permanent Mangrove Forest Reserve to provide baseline information on the distribution pattern of plant growth in mangrove area. The main objective of this study is to determine the composition and the distribution pattern of true-mangrove woody plant species. To assess the species composition, the forest reserve nearest to the sea, which run approximately 2.0 km, parallel to the sea, was divided into three main sections (i.e. 600 m each section with a minimum 50 m wide border between the sections). Species enumeration was conducted in 11 plots, where each plot size is 10m x 10m. In general these plots were established in random stratified manner, from the sea towards the terrestrial part of the mangrove forest. In total, we recorded 290 of individual woody plants. The most abundant species in term of occurrences within all zones and forest section is Bruguiera parvifolia

    Ergonomics factors and their relationship on physiological stress in the workplace

    Physiological stress occurrence in manufacturing organization is quite increasing nowadays. It is also involve workers who work in an office area or known as officer workers. Through literature being made, it is revealed that poor ergonomics workstation environment is one of the major contributors to the physiological stress. Thus, this study aims to investigate the relationship between ergonomics factors (work process design, humidity, acoustics, lighting, working hours and workload) towards work stress outcomes (physiological stress). This research specifically, focusing on the most significant ergonomic factors (work process design, humidity, acoustics, lighting, working hours and workload) towards physiological stress. A total of 106 samples of office workers were derived from a manufacturing industry in Gebeng, Pahang by using convenience sampling technique. Questionnaires were used for data collection process. The major findings show that ergonomically designated workstation is a significant strategy in minimizing the physiological stress outcomes in organizations or work area. Through the multiple regression analysis, each ergonomics factor and component collectively have significant relationship with the physiological stress outcomes. The multiple regression analysis shows (work process design, humidity, acoustics, working hours and work load) factors have significant relationship with physiological stress outcomes. To be concluded from the findings, it is important to organization which is in need of healthy and competent office workers in line with the aspiration of dynamic human capital development

    Structural And Reliability Analysis Of Solder Joint Under Vibration Loading

    Most of the devices nowadays contained electronic parts and often operated in a vibration environment for extended periods without failing. The role of solder in electronic packages has expanded and act as electrical interconnection as well as mechanical bond to certain parts while the joint decrease in size and cost. Hence, it is essential to investigate the structure of the solder joint and its reliability under vibration loading. Models were simulated in structural analysis to simulate pull strength test to learn the structure and its strength while under random vibration to learn its behaviour and dynamic response under certain random excitation frequency. Models were subjected to Y-axis displacement loading in structural analysis where as in random vibration analysis, the models are exposed to frequency range of 3 Hz to 500 Hz. Result from structural analysis shows that the structure of solder joint affects the strength of interconnection between circuit pad and LED joint. Higher number of adhesives able provide more strength to the structure. All parts of the CAD model were excited from the exposed frequency and failure occurred at some parts of the model

    [Misunderstanding Orientalis to Rasm Mushaf Uthmani] Salah Faham Orientalis Terhadap Rasm Mushaf Uthmani

    Mushaf Uthmani is a certified Quranic version of the Quran in terms of its validity. Adhering to Mushaf Uthmani became the practice of the Sunnah since  periods of time. In their attempt to mislead Muslims, most Orientalists tried to raise doubts about the Mushaf Uthmani script. This paper will reveal the Orientalists' misunderstanding of the Mushaf Uthmani, as well as rebuttal over intentional doubts and doubts. Using content analysis approach, the study identified several Quranic verses manipulated by the orientalists and analysed their misunderstadings as part of their efforts and agenda in poisoning the world's minds to dispute the authority of Mushaf Uthmani. For that, some clarifications were done towards arguing back those orientalists' views which manipulated the verses rather than observing its truth revealed by Allah. Orientalists are known to be a strict enemy of Islam. They try to make the authority of al-Quran as the main source of Islamic law be doubted. Mengguna pakai Mushaf Uthmani menjadi amalan Sunnah yang diikuti zaman berzaman. Namun, sebahagian besar Orientalis berusaha menimbulkan keraguan terhadap rasm Mushaf Uthmani. Artikel ini akan cuba mendedahkan salah faham Orientalis terhadap rasm Mushaf Uthmani, serta sanggahan ke atas kemusykilan dan keraguan yang disengajakan. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan analisis kandungan. Didapati salah satu usaha Orientalis ialah merealisasi agenda meracuni pemikiran masyarakat dunia agar mempertikaikan autoriti Mushaf Uthmani. Justeru, mereka sengaja menimbulkan aspek-aspek yang disangka boleh dimanipulasikan. Orientalis dikenal pasti merupakan musuh ketat Islam. Mereka berusaha supaya kewibawaan al-Quran sebagai sumber utama perundangan Islam boleh dipertikaikan.   Kata kunci: Rasm Uthmani, Orientalis, Salah Faha

    A Review of Surface Texturing in Internal Combustion Engine Piston Assembly

    This paper presents a brief review of surface texturing with a focus on piston assembly application. The paper begins with a general discussion on surface texturing and the manufacturing process of micro dimples.  Further, it discusses the theory of hydrodynamic lift generation and the effect of parameters of micro dimples texture on the surface-to-surface friction. Finally, the effect of surface texturing on heat transfer is briefly discussed. In pursuits to improve internal combustion engine (ICE) efficiency, tribological improvement of moving surfaces by means of micro surface texturing seems to be one of the way. However, texturing parameters have to be carefully designed as it can cause detrimental effect if the designs are wrong. Studies has shown micro surface texturing at piston ring could reduce friction around 20%-50% compare with un-textured piston ring and also reduce fuel consumption at 4%. Micro Surface texturing could also improve heat transfer between the surfaces to reduce piston slap and lubrication oil temperature. As reports on the surface texturing on friction reduction and heat transfer improvement in piston assembly are relatively scarce, it is suggested that optimization of micro dimple parameters for piston skirt application and its effect on engine tribology and heat transfer characteristics be further investigated

    Social barrier in da’wah mission to older population

    Although the number of older population in Malaysia is still small as compared to developed countries, its number and percentage are now increasing. This is certainly posing particular challenges to the missionaries in their efforts to invite people to the oneness of Allah.This paper discusses the aging of population and its problems in the context of da’wah mission to older population.To explore social barriers in da’wah mission to older population, this study interviewed five key informants aged between 41 years to 60 years.It was revealed there are five major problems will be faced by missionaries in their da’wah mission.These problems include health problems, overwhelmingly elderly women in the community, decline in mosque attendance, poverty and negative attitude of the elderly.With health problem the older people may not be so interested to think about religious practices.As the number of older women is more than the older men, preaching may not receive attention in the future because preaching activity mostly done in the mosques and women are not so encouraged to go to mosque.Because of too old they become less interested in visiting places of worship and preaching activities.Poverty and negative attitude are also become social barriers
