    THE IMPLEMENTATION OF STORY MAPPING STRATEGY IN INCREASING STUDENTS READING COMPREHENSION

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti bagaimana meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman siswa SMPN 2 Trimurjo dalam pembelajaran membaca menggunakan strategi Story Mapping. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindak kelas. Data diperoleh dari pre-test, post-test, lembar pengamatan, dan kuisioner. Sampel dari penelitian ini adalah 25 siswa SMPN 2 Trimurjo dari kelas VIII B. Data dianalisa menggunakan uraian deskripsi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa yang mencapai target nilai minimum adalah sebanyak 88% siswa di cycle II. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa 84% siswa terlibat aktif dalam pembelajaran membaca setelah menggunakan strategi Story Mapping. Ini dapat disarankan bahwa penggunaan strategi Story Mapping dalam membaca dapat membantu meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman siswa.This research was aimed to explore the implementation of Story Mapping strategy to foster the students reading comprehension achievement at the second grade of SMPN 2 Trimurjo. This research was classroom action research. The data were obtained from the pre-test, post-test, observation, and questionnaires. The samples of this study were 25 students of SMPN 2 Trimurjo from the class VIII B. The data were analyzed using the descriptive analysis. The result of this research showed that the students who achieved the target of minimum score were 88% at the cycle II. The results of the observation showed that 84% students were actively enganged in reading class after the implementation of Story Mapping strategy. This suggests that the implementation of Story Mapping strategy in reading helps the students to improve their comprehension achievement.Keywords: narrative, reading comprehension, story mapping strateg

    Program Keluarga Harapan (PKH) dirancang untuk menjadi system perlindungan sosial. Program PKH adalah pemberian bantuan tunai bersyarat kepada keluarga kurang mampu yang terdapat pada Data Terpadu Kesejahtraan Soial (DTKS) dan memiliki komponen sebagai persyaratan yang ditetapkan sebagai peserta PKH yaitu ibu hamil, anak 0-6 tahun ( balita atau anak usia sekolah) dan lanjut usia. Sebagai kewajibanya peserta PKH tersebut harus memeriksakan anak balita dan ibu hamil ke layananan Kesehatan dan menyekolahkan anaknya. Peran pendamping PKH sangat menentukan keberhasilan program. Peran dan keterampilan yang dilakukan pendamping PKH antara lain : Peran expert, broker, pendidik, advocate, social planer, enabler dan the activist. Meskipun peran dan keterampilan tidak semua dilaksankan oleh pendamping PKH karena dipengaruhi kondisi lingkungan dan kekuasaan tetapi pendamping PKH dilapangan menjadi penentu pelaksanaan dilapangan . Penelitian ini menggunakan pendeketan kualiatif, pendamping sebagai subjek penelitianya. Wawancara, observasi dan studi dokumen sebagai teknik pengumpulan data.     Penelitian ini didasari oleh temuan bahwa pembelajaran biologi masih didominasi dengan metode ceramah. Kurangnya keterlibatan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran tersebut berdampak terhadap kemampuan literasi sains siswa. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut dilakukan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh model pembelajaran berbasis masalah terhadap kemampuan literasi sains siswa pada materi ekosistem. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode quasi experiment dengan desain penelitian Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X IPA 1 dan X IPA 3 SMAN Jatinangor. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik Cluster random sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan literasi sains siswa pada materi ekosistem dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah menghasilkan nilai rata-rata pretest 52,97, posttest 79,03 dan N-Gain 56 %. Sementara pada kelas yang menggunakan metode ceramah dan diskusi menghasilkan nilai rata-rata pretest 62,91, posttest 75,39 dan NGain 27 %. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui ada atau tidaknya pengaruh antara prestasi hasil belajar bahasa Inggris dan keterlibatan siswa yang mengikuti ekstrakurikuler ECC pada siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Kota Tegal. Hasil penelitian menyatakan terdapat pengaruh yang kuat antara siswa yang mengikuti ekstrakurikuler ECC dengan hasil prestasi belajar bahasa Inggris di kelas reguler. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan 2 instrumen yaitu kuesioner dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Kota Tegal. Mereka terdiri dari 32 siswa sebagai subjek penelitian. Metode pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Peneliti memperoleh data berdasarkan kuesioner yang telah disebarkan, sehingga dari hasil yang diperoleh, peneliti dapat menyimpulkan tentang pentingnya ekstrakurikuler ECC. Nilai siswa yang mengikuti ECC mampu membantu meningkatkan nilai rata- rata kelas secara keseluruhan. Di kelas delapan terdapat 5 siswa yang mengikuti ekskul ECC sehingga nilai rata-rata satu kelas pada ujian akhir semester pelajaran bahasa Inggris adalah 83. Sedangkan nilai rata-rata ujian akhir semester kelas delapan pada pelajaran bahasa Inggris jika dihitung tanpa siswa yang mengikuti ekskul ECC hanya sebesar 79. Terbukti bahwa siswa yang mengikuti ekskul ECC mampu membantu meningkatkan nilai rata-rata ujian akhir semester bahasa Inggris sebesar 4%. Setelah mengikuti ekstrakurikuler ECC, siswa mampu mengelola gugupnya dengan meningkatkan rasa percaya diri ketika berada di tengah- orang yang berbahasa Inggris. Hal ini terbukti dari prestasi belajar yang meningkat, dalam pelajaran Bahasa Inggris di kelas dapat dikatakan baik jika nilai rata-rata di atas nilai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM)

    Indonesia is a country with the largest Muslim population in the world. This affects the culture and patterns of public consumption of halal and thayyib products. The obligation to consume halal food and thayyib in the sharia review of Muslims is written in the Al Quran and Hadith. Demand for halal products and public awareness of purchasing halal products has increased. This is supported by the Regulation of the Minister of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia No. 26 of 2019 in article 27 which states that products that enter, circulate and trade in the territory of Indonesia must be halal certified. List of products that must be halal certified, in the form of products (food, beverages, medicines, cosmetics, chemical-biological-genetically engineered products, and used goods) and services (slaughter, processing, storage, packaging, distribution, sales and presentation). SMKN 5 Jember is one of the vocational high schools in Jember which has produced processed food products such as bread. In an effort to improve product quality and quality, it is necessary to carry out a halal certification process for bread products from the Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH). This is a strong reason for academics to evaluate the socialization and mentoring activities carried out for students of SMKN 5 Jember so that they can register bakery products so that they have a halal certificate. The socialization method is carried out using 2 ways, namely lectures and question and answer. The evaluation activity was carried out by giving pre-tests (tests before material explanation) and post-tests (tests after material explanations) to students to measure the effect of socialization on students knowledge of SMKN 5 Jember regarding halal products. Based on the test results it was concluded that the socialization activities carried out were able to increase the knowledge of SMKN 5 Jember students regarding the criteria for halal products. In addition, it is hoped that the existence of halal certification for bakery products at SMKN 5 Jember will become an embryo for the formation of halal food in the school area

    Leucaena leucocephala cv. Tarramba was first introduced to Indonesia in 2001 as an activity of ACIAR Project AS2/2000/157. It has now become the most popular variety used by agencies promoting the use of leucaena for ruminant feeding in Eastern Indonesia (Nulik et al. 2004). The greater adaptability and higher production of Tarramba, even in the dry season, its erect growth habit as well as its tolerance of the psyllid insect (Heteropsylla cubana) compared to the ubiquitous ‘common’ leucaena, has been frequently observed (Nulik et al. 2004). The cultivar has attracted much interest from farmers and other stakeholders who request seed for its wider development as high quality forage for feeding cattle. This increasing demand highlights the need to understand the best practices for establishment and management, and the need for local supply of good quality seed. Lack of seed availability is one of the most important barriers to the wider distribution and use of Tarramba. It is estimated that at least 1000 kg and perhaps as much as 5000 kg of Tarramba may be needed annually to ensure adequate seed supply

    One of the big problems facing Indonesia is unemployment and waste management. The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded February 2023 data that there were still 7.99 million unemployed in Indonesia. In terms of education, the highest unemployment rate (TPT) is experienced by high school (SMA) and vocational high school (SMK) graduates. One of the efforts to reduce the high number of unemployed, Senior High Schools (SMA) are expected to play an active role in producing graduates who can create jobs. The waste problem in Indonesia is also a problem that has not been resolved to date. Indonesia is estimated to produce 187.2 million tons of waste every year, with 60% coming from organic waste. One solution for handling organic waste is the application of Eco-enzyme. The aim of this activity is to provide training in making Eco-Enzyme based dish washing soap as an effort to foster the entrepreneurial spirit of students at SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Jember. This activity was carried out in the form of direct outreach and training to 75 students. Based on the results of observations of these activities, SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Jember has never implemented making dishwashing soap from organic waste. This can be seen from the pre-test with the results that only 21% of students had a good level of knowledge about Eco-Enzyme. Furthermore, the post-test results after carrying out this training, those with good knowledge levels increased to 92%. The pretest and posttest results show that on average the training participants experienced an increase in knowledge and understanding about the Eco-Enzyme-based Dish Soap Making Training, so it is hoped that it can motivate students' entrepreneurial interest by thinking creatively and innovatively

    Prevalence of DHP Toxicity and Detection of \u3cem\u3eS. jonesii\u3c/em\u3e in Ruminants Consuming \u3cem\u3eLeucaena leucocephala\u3c/em\u3e in Eastern Indonesia

    Leucaena leucocephala (leucaena) is a productive forage tree legume widely used in eastern Indonesia. While highly nutritious, it possesses the toxin mimosine which adversely affects animal production. In ruminants, mimosine is readily converted to the two isomers of dihydroxypyridine (3,4-DHP and 2,3-DHP) known to cause goitre, suppress appetite, and cause severe mineral deficiencies. These adverse symptoms may be partially responsible for the reluctance of some farmers to feed leucaena. A bacterium capable of complete degradation of DHP, Synergistes jonesii, originally discovered in Hawaii in goats consuming leucaena (Jones and Megarrity 1986), was later found in Indonesia which led to the assumption that all Indonesian ruminants were protected from leucaena toxicity even on 100% leucaena diets. The objective of this study, conducted during October-November 2011, was to confirm this hypothesis via an extensive survey of the toxicity status of ruminants consuming leucaena in eastern Indonesia
