This title, suggestive of the impacts during the Covid 19 situation in the world, and which have unfortunately been very critical in Colombia, allows us to assume the obligatory overcoming of social, political, and economic tensions; but above all scientific and technological. Initially, this supposes the existence of a capacity of Colombian society to recover its initial state after the disturbance to which it was subjected by the catastrophic pandemic has ceased, and to overcome that previous state of affairs since it was found -and still is find - many local problems poorly resolved, moderately resolved, and many unresolved: that is, an existing social resilience test will have to be redesigned and strengthened - product of the prolonged Colombian social conflict partially overcome by a successful peace process - from local technoscience; As Markus Brunnermeier - German economist and professor of economics at Princeton University - indicates in his book The Resilient Society...The question is not to foresee everything but to be able to react...learn to recover quickly.Bogot

Modular is an architectural project that mitigates the needs for an infrastructure in the education sector of Colombia, mainly in rural areas of the country, this from a national analysis. Modular architecture is proposed as a response, due to its versatility as it can multiply, eliminate or connect with each other, proposing a prototype that responds to the needs of the populations. Four areas of the country are selected taking into account different qualities, such as climate, topography, cosmovision and culture, to demonstrate the adaptability of the prototype. We propose a self-sufficient prototype in aspects such as rainwater treatment, sewage, energy and comfort, based on sustainability, isimplemented in a general measure: solar panels, plant purifiers and hydroponic crops. Each proposal will have special qualities that will respond to the characteristics of its location. In addition, the transfer of this will be primordial due to the migrations of the population, therefore it has a light structural system and easy assembly and a superficial foundation

El Salvador is going through a significant socio-political crisis, related to a recent history marked by constant violence and fear. Almost 30 years after the formal end of the Armed Conflict that affect it for twelve years, the consequent social and political dynamics have been configured as an enabling context for authoritarian practices by the government in power; one that seeks to impose a hegemonic narrative of the Conflict and the Peace Accords. This essay aims to reflect on how the current government abuses the memory of the Salvadoran Armed Conflict to favor its authoritarian practices; whose (counter) effect is the emergence of resistance practices from the new generations, using as a case of reflection the citizen-cyber mobilization "#ProhibidoOlvidarSV", which took place on social networks in January 2021. The intention is to put on the table the potentiality of the phenomenon of memory as a basis for political action, seen from an intergenerational perspective, that counterbalances the initiatives that threaten the little democracy achieved so far.

The previous selection, motivated by the assertion of Manuel Castells -almost 20 years ago- that innovation and diffusion of technology seemed to be the appropriate tool for development in the information age. This 2020, however, in the face of the disruptive situation that afflicted and continues to afflict the network society as an emerging social structure of the Information Age based on production networks, energized by power and experience; He failed and must find his way again. Thus, the pressing problems now were: health care and overcoming the Sars Cov 2 epidemic; Castells' until then unrealistic vision took shape that... we cannot advance with our current development models, destroying our environment and excluding the majority of humanity from the benefits of the most extraordinary technological revolution in history, without suffering a devastating reaction from society and nature. It was thus that the Fourth World, specifically, where the sufficiency of human resources, capital, work, information and market - all linked through technology - meant that it would serve effectively through the population that could, due to its capacity, make rational use. and knowledge professional, the needs of the majority vulnerable and vulnerable population. Therefore, putting people at the center, in hyperconnected global task and work environments, combining physical spaces, information flows with expedited connection channels, and training knowledge professionals who assume and face the challenges derived from the digital transformation of companies, universities, and organizations, but in conditions of equality and subject to prosperity, will be the challenge in the present and immediate future scenarios.Bogot

The sequence and analysis of duplication-rich human chromosome 16

    Get PDF
Human chromosome 16 features one of the highest levels of segmentally duplicated sequence among the human autosomes. We report here the 78,884,754 base pairs of finished chromosome 16 sequence, representing over 99.9% of its euchromatin. Manual annotation revealed 880 protein-coding genes confirmed by 1,670 aligned transcripts, 19 transfer RNA genes, 341 pseudogenes and three RNA pseudogenes. These genes include metallothionein, cadherin and iroquois gene families, as well as the disease genes for polycystic kidney disease and acute myelomonocytic leukaemia. Several large-scale structural polymorphisms spanning hundreds of kilobase pairs were identified and result in gene content differences among humans. Whereas the segmental duplications of chromosome 16 are enriched in the relatively gene-poor pericentromere of the p arm, some are involved in recent gene duplication and conversion events that are likely to have had an impact on the evolution of primates and human disease susceptibility.Joel Martin, Cliff Han, Laurie A.
