Utilizing re-sampling. Methods, we present evidence on the rejection probabilities for difference-stationary and trend-stationary models for Mexico’s real and real per-capita annual gross domestic product. The trend stationary alternative allows for stationary fluctuations around a long-run trend function with endogenously determined multiple structural breaks, via global and sequential search methods. The number of breaks is determined using a unit-root rejection stopping rule and a parameter-constancy stopping rule.

Bases para el subconciente territorial: el proyecto de Lanzarote

En la década de los 60, Lanzarote sentaría las bases del modelo turístico-territorial que liberaría a la isla de su atraso "estructural" y que, consecuentemente, acabaría modificando sustancialmente su entorno, la economía y la identidad de sus habitantes. La tesis de este trabajo vendría a sustentar la idea de cómo, a pesar de no hallarse un plan en sentido estricto, en el imaginario de sus artífices existía una concepción territorial de la isla palpable a través tanto de decisiones explícitas como de otros mecanismos subyacentes. La metodología seguida presenta el contenido de este trabajo en tres estadios donde se exponen las líneas maestras del “proyecto”, se abordan las circunstancias que permiten refrendar la tesis inicial y, finalmente, se concluye con algunas cuestiones de carácter implícito que, formando parte del proyecto, serían el germen de futuras investigaciones.Peer Reviewe

La construcción territorial de la propuesta de Lanzarote (1960-74): el arte de César Manrique entre el paisaje y el turismo

El modelo que se comienza a implantar a partir de 1960 tiene, entre otras particularidades, la novedad y la ruptura que supone su proceder frente a los habituales desarrollos turísticos de la época, más preocupados por la rentabilización rápida de las inversiones que por el deterioro que ocasionan en el paisaje sus construcciones. Mientras, en la lejana Lanzarote apuestan por un modelo propio y característico con el que iniciarse en el turismo, que prioriza y salvaguarda sus recursos naturales y culturales en la construcción del territorio y en el que se reconoce una determinada proyección estética a escala insular inspirada por el artista César Manrique. El proceso creativo explica ambas cuestiones, su particular conformación, los pasos seguidos y las herramientas utilizadas, y su signo artístico, el filtro establecido por Manrique para mediar entre el turismo y el paisaje y reconocer sus valores.The model that is being implemented from 1960 onward has, among other features, the novelty and disruption that can be expected in view of the typical tourist developments of the time, more concerned with a rapid return on investment than the deterioration of the landscape caused by its construction. Meanwhile, in the distant Lanzarote a unique model is voted to sparkle tourism, prioritizing and safeguarding its natural and cultural resources in the construction of the territory in which a particular esthetical projection is recognized on the scale of the island inspired by the artist César Manrique. The creative process explains both questions, their particular configuration, the steps taken and tools used, and its artistic expression, the filter set by Manrique to mediate between tourism and landscape and to recognize its values.Peer Reviewe

An Implicit Plan Landscape, Art and Lanzarote’s Tourism Development (1960-1974)

Despite the inexistence of a formal plan, a series of underlying factors generated a project that hoped to hybridize tourism and landscape by safeguarding and protecting Lanzarote´s environment as well as adapting the region to this economic activity.So as to remain faithful to the Island´s nature, solutions were not adopted as isolated fragments but as part of a comprehensive system. This resulted in an outstanding model of human interaction with the environment while creating a different and competitive image within the tourism market.A pesar de no existir un plan formal, una serie de factores subyacentes han generado un proyecto que buscaba hibridar el turismo y el paisaje a través de la protección del medio ambiente de Lanzarote, adaptándose a su vez a la actividad económica de la región. Con el objetivo de mantenerse fiel a la naturaleza de la isla, no se adoptaron soluciones como fragmentos aislados sino como parte de un sistema completo. Esto resultó en un destacado modelo de interacción humana con el entorno mientras se conseguía una imagen diferente y competitiva dentro del mercado turístico.

En este artículo se exponen las consecuencias que para Luis Antonio Portocarrero, quinto conde de Palma, se derivaron de su apoyo al pretendiente Carlos de Habsburgo en el marco de la Guerra de Sucesión española (1701-1714). Tales consecuencias fueron, de una parte, la privación temporal del dominio sobre los bienes del Estado de Palma y, de otra, el breve destierro en Francia, así como el extrañamiento de la corte madrileña, una vez finalizada la contienda con el triunfo de Felipe de Borbón.This article discusses the consequences of the support for Charles of Habsburg by Luis Antonio Portocarrero, the 5th Count of Palma, during the War of the Spanish Succession (1701-1714). A Matrix PRNG with S-Box Output Filtering

We describe a modification to a previously published pseudorandom number generator improving security while maintaining high performance. The proposed generator is based on the powers of a word-packed block upper triangular matrix and it is designed to be fast and easy to implement in software since it mainly involves bitwise operations between machine registers and, in our tests, it presents excellent security and statistical characteristics. The modifications include a new, key-derived s-box based nonlinear output filter and improved seeding and extraction mechanisms. Are miRNAS an useful tool asessing treatment response inmultiple scleriosis?

Treball Final de Grau en Medicina. Codi: MD1158. Curs acadèmic: 2018/2019.A notable effort is being made worldwide in order to find the right biomarkers for multiple sclerosis (MS). It is a pressing subject to find a standardized and reliable source of information that allows not only an early and trusty diagnosis, but also to assess treatment response, and going further, as a way to elucidate the complex immunological mechanism underlying MS. A group of miRNAs might be the future contributors to this objective. MicroRNAs are small, noncoding, single-stranded RNA molecules that act as posttranscriptional regulators, silencing complementary messenger RNA (mRNA). They are strictly related to multiple indispensable functions, such as cellular differentiation, proliferation, apoptosis and tissue development, and more importantly in MS, they are involved in the regulation of immune response, via modulation4 and differentiation of immune cells, release of inflammatory mediators and antibody production. In this review, we center our focus on 4 clinical trials targeting changes in miRNA expression during or before and after different treatments, in order to assess whether they are valid as treatment response biomarkers in MS. A structured search was conducted in three databases (PubMed, The Cochrane library and WebOfScience) and a posterior revision yielded the final articles. To evaluate the methodologic quality we used the Cochrane Handbook for Systematic Reviews of Interventions (version 5.1.0). After elaborating this work, we conclude that miRNAs have very promising applications in this field, but better designed studies are much needed to confirm new findings and identify the most sensible and specific miRNAs to evaluate treatment response.S'està fent un esforç notable a tot el món per trobar nous biomarcadors adequats per a l'esclerosi múltiple (EM). Es prioritari trobar una font d'informació estandarditzada i fiable que permeta no només un diagnòstic precoç i fiable, sinó també avaluar la resposta del tractament, i anar més enllà, com a manera de dilucidar el complex mecanisme immunològic subjacent a la EM. Un grup de miRNA pot ser el futur contribuent a aquest objectiu. Els microARN són petites molècules d'ARN monocatenàries no codificants que actuen com a reguladors posttranscripcionals, silenciant l'ARN missatger (ARNm). Estan relacionats estrictament amb múltiples funcions indispensables, com la diferenciació cel·lular, la proliferació, l'apoptosi i el desenvolupament de teixits, i el que és més important en la EM, estan implicats en la regulació de la resposta immune, mitjançant la modulació i la diferenciació de les cèl·lules immunitàries, l'alliberament de mediadors inflamatoris i la producció d'anticossos. En aquesta revisió, ens centrem en quatre assajos clínics dirigits a canvis en l'expressió de miRNA durant o abans i després de diferents tractaments, per tal de valorar si són vàlids com a biomarcadors de resposta al tractament de la EM. Una cerca estructurada es va dur a terme en tres bases de dades (PubMed, the Cochrane Library i WebOfScience) i un cribratge posterior va donar lloc a la selecció final. Per avaluar la qualitat metodològica vam utilitzar el manual Cochrane per a revisions sistemàtiques d'intervencions (versió 5.1.0).
