Nanoparticulate sol-gel pretreatments as barrier coatings and adhesion promoters for metallic corrosion protection

The Spanish University Carlos III de Madrid has developed sol-gel coatings for the corrosion protection of alloys. Sol-gel coatings represent a physical barrier between the metallic substrate and the aggressive environment of exposition and act as adhesion promoters through interfacial bonding. Optimization of the coating’s properties may be easily achivied by changing the processing parameters and formulation of the layer. Interest in licensing the applied patent or technical cooperation with companies that would like to incorporate this technology

(From the introduction). The core theme of this article is the relation between citizens’ national identity and their European identity. After the European Union (EU) launched a series of policies aimed at creating a European identity at the end of the 1980s, the member states responded by including a paragraph in the Maastricht Treaty specifying that the Union should respect member states’ national identities (Article F, point 1). This reaction, along with the introduction of the principle of subsidiarity and the rejection of the word “Federal”, suggested that many member states saw the creation of a European identity as a potential threat to their own national identities and their citizens’ national loyalties. Indeed, in the early 1990s national identity was used by the political elites as a means of justifying the right to independent statehood and sovereignty. Due to the close links between national identity and national independence, many scholars have argued that the European integration process could be seen as a threat to national identity (Höjelid 2001), and hence difficult to achieve

Feedstocks development for Metal Injection Moulding

Today, more tan 90% of used feedstock for MIM in Europe, came from BASF (exclusive patent), with low possibility for change compositions or costs (in Japan or USA, the percentage is quite smaller). In our research group (Powder Technology Group) we can develop new feedstocks formulation that can be used directly by the MIM parts manufacturers and fulfilling their composition requirements. Interest in licensing the applied patent or commercial agreement with technical assistance with companies that would like to incorporate this technology

La Universidad española Carlos III de Madrid ha desarrollado recubrimientos de tipo sol-gel aplicados para la protección frente a la corrosión de aleaciones metálicas. Dichos recubrimientos constituyen una barrera física entre el metal y los agentes agresivos externos y aumentan la adherencia metal/pintura orgánica de aplicación posterior mediante uniones en interfase. La modificación de las variables del proceso de síntesis y la formulación del recubrimiento permiten optimizar sus propiedades. Se busca la licencia de la patente solicitada o un acuerdo de cooperación técnica con empresas que deseen incorporar esta tecnología

Los gobiernos nacionales de los Estados miembros de la UE sienten ciertos recelos respecto a una nueva identidad europea que pudiera perjudicar la identidad nacional de sus ciudadanos (y, de este modo, la legitimidad de los gobiernos nacionales). Enseñanza y Aprendizaje del Pensamiento Reflexivo y Crítico en Estudiantes de Enfermería en Iberoameríca

En este libro se trabajó de manera colegiada y se elaboró un proyecto multicéntrico; dirigido por las y los integrantes del grupo coordinador de la Red Iberoamericana de Investigación en Educación en Enfermería (RIIEE), a través de las seis regiones en que se encuentra conformada: América Central, Andina, Brasil, Cono Sur, Europa (España y Portugal) y México y el Caribe. Con una metodología previamente establecida, se estudiaron, seleccionaron y analizaron todo lo relacionado con las evidencias documentadas sobre el desarrollo del pensamiento reflexivo y crítico en los estudiantes de Enfermería. Quienes integran la RIIEE confiamos en que esta investigación ofrecerá propuestas de enseñanza y de aprendizaje, que permitirá empoderar a las nuevas generaciones de enfermeras y de enfermeros, empleando como centro de innovación y desarrollo el pensamiento reflexivo y crítico

En este trabajo se analizan los datos de la encuesta conjunta del CIS y el RIE OPINIONES Y ACTITUDES DE LOS ESPAÑOLES ANTE EL TRATADO CONSTITUCIONAL Y EL PROCESO DE INTEGRACIÓN EUROPEA, realizada en noviembre de este año. Do product innovation-related activities affect downsizing decisions? An organizational efficiency perspective

Firms’ innovation strategy typically involves the need to shape organizational changes within work structures and routines, even those concerning employee downsizing decisions. However, little effort has been directed toward exploring the role of firm innovation strategy as a determinant of downsizing. Drawing on organizational efficiency perspective, this study proposes a framework to examine the impact of product innovation-related activities on downsizing. The model will be tested using data from a longitudinal sample of Spanish innovative manufacturing firms. It is expected that the results show that firms developing product and process innovations are associated with downsizing decisions. Furthermore, companies that use formal protection of intellectual property through patents, utility models, trademarks and copyrights are believed to keep their personnel. The study attempt to unravel the impact of firm innovation on downsizing decisions and to offer guidance on how innovative firms might operate to control negative effects on their workforce
