In the Algarve the potential for birdwatching tourism is widely recognized, especially in the Ria Formosa Natural Park (RFNP). This study aims to describe birdwatchers' profile in the RFNP. For this purpose, a survey was applied. The results show that the most frequent nationalities of birdwatchers are: British (39%), Dutch (17%) and Portuguese (17%). The majority of birdwatchers are male (55%) and married (57%). The average age is 50 years old. They are highly educated (74% have an academic degree). Concerning profession, the most frequent answer was retired (41%). Respondents are committed to the activity as the majority possess special equipment and practice birdwatching in vacations. This study also tests if nationality is related to other characteristics of the birdwatchers, by using the Kruskal-Wallis and the Chi-square tests. Overall, the results of this study highlight that regional management organizations should invest in developing birdwatching in the RFNP.O potencial para o turismo de birdwatching é vastamente reconhecido, especialmente no Parque Natural da Ria Formosa (PNRF). Project Work presented as the partial requirement for obtaining a Master's degree in Information Management, specialization in Information Systems and Technologies ManagementOncological diseases, particularly the ones affecting children and young people, are a reality that is present in the quotidian thinking of world society. It is vital that during and after the treatment of children and young people with cancer, their quality of life is evaluated, such as in the case of adolescence. The performance of health organizations must consider an effective and efficient management of their processes and activities so that they can meet their mission and values. In most cases, health organizations are unprofitable, providing services in a way that satisfies a need or following a cause. It is therefore essential to emphasize the concept of social responsibility where organizations, beyond the actions of social transformation, meet the involvement of their stakeholders through a transparent and cohesive relationship where they demonstrate how projects reach the creation of a more significant social impact. This project work aims to identify and analyze the primary processes of a Portuguese nonprofit organization in pediatric oncology, ACREDITAR, contributing with a set of recommendations to improve its activity performance. This work was made to follow a case study methodology. The design science research procedure was used as a guide, following five steps: (1) the problem identification and motivation, (2) definition of the objectives, (3) the design and development, (4) the demonstration and evaluation and (5) communication. After a requirement gathering conducted by open interviews, the existing documentation, and participant observation, it was possible to identify the main activities of the organization, that were modeled with the help of the BPM notation (BPMN). The models were then submitted for evaluation, by the organization´s professionals, through semi-structured interviews which by the qualitative analysis of content have combined into a set of several propositions, that were then validated through a questionnaire. The result of the evaluation of the propositions will help to a future improvement of ACREDITAR performance and can serve as an example to other nonprofit organizations

O "Grande Retrocesso" Populista?

This article rethink the role of corporatism as a political device against liberal democracy and especially as a set of authoritarian institutions that spread across interwar Europe and which was an agent for the hybridisation of the institutions of fascist-era dictatorships. We argue that corporatism was at the forefront of this process of cross-national diffusion, both as a new form of organised interest representation and as an authoritarian alternative to liberal democracy

Augmented Reality for a New Reality: Using UTAUT-3 to Assess the Adoption of Mobile Augmented Reality in Tourism (MART)

Few industries were more affected by the COVID-19 pandemic than tourism. One of Europe´s leading tourist destinations, Porto had undergone a major tourism boom until the start of pandemic. Mobile Augmented Reality (MAR) is one of the many emerging technologies that has great potential for tourist operators. Using this technology, they can create innovative tourism products that will help them recover from the present crisis. As a result, in this study, we will empirically test the latest version of the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model to explore the factor leading to the adoption Mobile Augmented Reality in Tourism (MART) in Porto. In doing so, we aim to contribute to growing literature on the topic of Mobile Augmented Reality (MAR). The originality of this study lies in the use of an extended UTAUT model with greater predictive power and the exploration of the moderative role of gender, age and experience. To the data obtained from a random sample of 201 respondents who voluntarily answered an anonymous online questionnaire, we applied structural equational modeling and partial least squares (SEM-PLS) analysis to test the model. Our findings show that habit, hedonic motivations and facilitating conditions are the determinants of the use of MART.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
